Don Blankenship is a terrible human being and should still be in jail. He served a one year sentence for the deaths of 29 people. He should serve 2 years in prison for every life most due to his gross negligence.

At this point we can only wait for one of the other 3 judges to revoke his pre-trial release since Contempt is a crime and committing a crime of any sort in any jurisdiction violates his bail conditions in all 3 cases.

"No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it. Obedience to the law is demanded as a right, not asked as a favor." "The judges who administer justice in our countries must be seen as ethical and subject to meaningful correction when it is necessary. Nothing less than the rule of law is at stake."
The justices don’t want to impose the rules and laws that applies to the rest of us. When we have a system where “precedent” is more important than justice WE have a problem. Judge Merchan must make a new precedent. Put Trump in jail. I am not even saying for days. But he can start with hours. Let’s start with four and keep increasing the time accordingly. But at least APPEAR to be doing something which is better than doing nothing. 9K in fines is pocket change for Trump.

"Hanged" refers to an execution whereas "hung" refers to an extrajudicial killing.

I'm an IU grad (many years ago). The snipers on top of the Student Union broke my heart. That was unnecessary. The students have the right to protest.......but not on University property when they're told to disburse. Two wrongs don't make a right.

These protests do remind me of ours wanting to bring our friends home from VietNam. I joined them after my friend came back angry because it was clear to him we were being lied to and that it was a civil war and the Vietnamese didn't want us there. We, too, often got bad misleading press and had agitators joining us to make us look terrible.

Protesting the Isreal Gaza war is a pub crawl so the students can feel like they're accomplishing anything. Isreal doesn't care what students in America think, those students aren't their potential voters or soldiers.
Yeah it’s not antisemitism to protest Israel but a lot of these students who were arrested were preventing students from attending class and the library during FINALS SEASON (yah know it’s a school still and they are there to learn) and many of whom because they were Jewish. You can look at news reports to verify that as I did. That I will say is antisemitic.

Two things are clear. 1) trump has no respect for a legal system that he has duped for 60 years and 'falling asleep' is his way of showing it. 2) he thinks he has nothing to fear and in the Kabuki theater of this and future trials (if any) he's probably right.
