Ha I sometimes think I hear people near the tent in the middle of the night. But it's usually in the mind or maybe wild animals lol. Ah the more I do it the easier it gets just have to try and get as comfortable as possible.
      Happy new year 🙌

Happy new year Adrian! I definitely agree with you I'd much prefer to be doing what you're doing then out drinking on new years, waste of money and waste of the day afterwards as well. I don't mind the odd drink, but otherwise I think it's one of the worst hobbies we as Irish. That's enough of my rant 😂. Very interesting video especially at the start! That has happened to me before as well

I wouldn't have felt that way years ago I'd have been the other way around 🤣 maybe it's old age changing me lol. But yes definitely rather be out in nature instead of a pub at weekends. You feel so much better for it definitely on new years day clear head and a good start to the year. Ah I'm still trying to figure out how I looped around the wrong way feels like some kind of trick 😂
      Happy new year 🙂

@@HikingandcampingwithAdrian I used to be out drinking a fair bit when I was younger as well 😂, but yeah I think as you get older you realise its an unhealthy habit. Smart idea to go for the road must have been annoying at the time, but always makes for a good story 🙂

Well done for not giving up Adrian. I normally end up crawling through whins when I decide to take a short cut so your detour wasn't too bad 😄

Ah it's all part of the Adventure 😂 I'm still baffled on how I looped around one way. When I thought I was going around the other way 😂

Yep it's not good there's mess left all over the forest's and Mournes. Some people have no respect for nature and other people.

Hey Adrian, that was an exciting start to your adventure, good on you for keeping it in the video! Out of curiosity, what app do you use for navigation? Never thought about heading off the track there for a camp, looks like you found a great wee spot and not too far to walk either! Still can't believe the mess people leave behind though. ATB, and looking forward to your videos in 2024.

Ha it's a shame I didn't get a video of me falling down hill that would have been a funny clip lol. I use alltralis and Google maps. This time I was using Google maps which I should have used the other one. But still the night ended off good so can't complain 👌

Google maps will get you killed .
I met two lads using Google maps to find a cave one day , walking across a firing range and totally lost .
Does it even show you where you've been ? @@HikingandcampingwithAdrian

Adrian, a serious mess left and an absolute disgrace anyone would leave somewhere in the outdoors in that condition. An interesting pre camp adventure though perseverance pays off😊 Super noodles and tea👍👍 Cool that it all came together and you got to spend New Years Eve/New Years Day outdoors👍

I've noticed almost all forest's around the north I've been in have a mess in some parts of it. It's not hard to take the stuff back home again the likes of beer bottle and stuff should be easier to take home as they would be lighter. Than they were going there some people just don't give a shit about nature and other people. Yes I'm definitely glad I don't go home as it all worked out in the end had I went home I'd have woken up new year's day disappointed with myself.

      Happy new year 🙂
You could probably hot tent almost anywhere around the Mournes. Although would be extra weight to carry.
Leitrim lodge car park would be handy.
Anywhere around the western Mournes should be good.

Awk mate that was a nightmare start but fair play to you a lesser man would have gave up. That first place was a mess, I don’t get why people just don’t tidy up. A great video and great start to the year. Happy new year to you Adrian 👍.

    • @HikingandcampingwithAdrian
      @HikingandcampingwithAdrian  8 месяцев назад +2

Yeah not the best start although I've had worse lol. As long as the rest of the hike and camp goes well it's all good still worth it in the end. Ack some people just shouldn't be out in these nice places just no respect for others. Happy new year 🙂

@@HikingandcampingwithAdrian that’s the main part, as long as you had a good camp afterwards and by the looks of things you had.
