Living with your parents is the worst thing you can do to yourself when you have a mental issue.

My heart goes out to you James, watching you in distress has me in tears. You seem such a genuinely sweet and nice person and I hope things have gotten easier for you and that you are coping.

One wonders if he became fixated on pooing his pants in public because he was punished as a child for messing in his underwear. And somehow that fear got all crosswise because he has OCD?

Basically, the thoughts will be different depending on what the person fears. Someone that had a traumatic experience on the past, will have ocd get stuck to it and base the intrusive thoughts on that. Ocd is basically the brain getting "stuck" on what scares you, to the point everything illogically turns into proof that what you fear may be true and may really happen. It's all you can think about. All people get intrusive thoughts about things they hate, but unlike ocd patients, they're able to let that thought go.

      Exactly
      You are 100% correct. It’s not “ocd”… it’s trauma

There is a mental health condition called PURE O. It involves unwanted intrusive thoughts which are very disturbing for the person, as tney would never deliberately think of these thoughts. Pure 0 is related to ocd

I have this severely. Since age 5. Was molested then, and severely abusive addict parents.
I believe it is related to the intense feelings of being out of control. Repressed rage and fear.

Pure o is not "related" to ocd, it IS ocd. The compulsions are just mental. Ocd shapes itself based on your fears. Someone that suffers from pure o may get over the pure o theme and afterwards get contamination ocd or any other more obvious version of it.

congrats to you james, getting on your feet and fighting anxiety and ocd. i had similar problems but it had something to do with my ed and ocd (anxiety included of course) and your story made me proud of my progress, proud of yours, and everyone who is fighting these things. people dont realize that a problem in your head can sometimes literally ruin your life, and then you even get anxiety about thinking your problems are stupid, not valid etc. this video made me very happy since i watched your other video here few months ago when i still had my quirks here and there and i was like oh okay so im not the only one, but now ive realized that we can have a normal life and all thatif we just push thru our intrusive thoughts. keep going well and smashing your fears james, i wish u all the best

What a great documentary and what a genuine soul.
I hope he's doing much better.
I have sensorimotor OCD which means I'm almost always hyperaware of hyperfocused on my blinking, breathing, swallowing, the position of certain body parts, fear of developing tinnitus, hearing my footsteps.
Not all together at once, but it can switch on a daily basis.
I think it's a subset of Pure OCD but I'm not sure.
I was about to begin treatment but they prelonged the intake procedure.
My mom says it's probably because they want to be as thorough as possible but I'm afraid it's because they just don't understand it or know how to deal with people with my set of OCD.
Like I feel no one does, not people with other types of OCD, not the psychologists who are trained in OCD, the OCD experts.
    It's so widely unknown.
I know I'm basically asking for reassurance right now, and that's one of the things one shouldn't do when they have OCD really but seriously, if anyone is at least familiar with this form of OCD or has it or knows anyone who has it, can you please like this comment or comment something underneath it?
It doesn't matter what it is.
I feel incredibly alone in this situation that I'm in.
    Thank you.

Everyone needs validation, support and reassurance ♡ There's honestly 100 reasons why the treatment process was delayed. It is more likely due to availability of staff or treatment rooms, and nothing to do with you :) There's lots of stuff that goes on behind the scenes of treatment clinics.
There will be professionals who are well versed in OCD who will help you. The diagnosis of OCD and the type of OCD are not necessarily what is important. They just provide the direction for what type of therapy will be most helpful :)
I fully believe you can succeed in the new program :) If you don't, just keep going forward. People with mental health conditions rarely get 'transformed' [for want of a better word] with their first treatment experience. Many people have to go through dozens of therapists, modalities and medications until they find what works best for them. So, any failure should just be interpreted as a step closer to your healing... and another opportunity to practise things like self love, patience, radical self acceptance, non-judgment etc.
Best of luck on your journey :) ♡

Dr Gabor Mate . This all stems from his childhood.
If you haven’t read his books they are worth watching. Human touch ,holding, affection, connection, is far more important than we’ll ever know. So tired of people being labeled. Everyone has issues, and he’s going to figure out his needs .

This has to have been enabled, if my kid acted like that I’d never allow it. If you let things take over there’s no coming back. People just put up with it and it got him attention
