I not a great carver but was just thinking it would great to carve a little hiker with a backpack and walking stick. I had no idea how to even begin, and then you put out this video. Thanks Ddalo, I’m going to give it a try. You’re an amazing carver, thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us. Cheers from Ontario, Canada
Great tutorial, thank you for posting. I would enjoy learning a more advanced charicature bent leg walking, or a turned head video. You are a very skilled teacher.🍻🇨🇦
Sitting here away from home, I think it's time to carve the hiker. I've been looking at this guy for a while now. Love the backpack. Also, it is amazing how you layout the wood your carving.this is what I really need to learn. I carve a lot of other people design, need to learn to draw my own.
Hey brother this is an amazing carving! Last night I watched the entire video in amazement in your skills and trying to learn these amazing cutting moves... I use a glove because I know I will cut myself plus I play guitar 😂. Today I started the video and slowed it down in RUclips settings and just carve along with you step by step. I'm using flex cut knife and V tool, I'm quite pleased with the results I get with them. I was wondering if you are using an OCC tools knife and if so what one? At this time I can't afford a heavier and have been looking at OCC and Beavercraft knives! I see that OCC gets very good reviews. Is it an OCC? I wish there was a way to share pictures with you on RUclips of my work compliments of your tutorial. Many thanks to you!
Sir, I have carved just about every one of your figures. I really find it easy to follow along with your videos. I would like a video on your painting technique. Thank you for sharing your work.
Is the Jelutong wood comparable to Balsa? As I can see, you need absolutely no force to cut thru the wood. This isn't possible with basswood (by example). You cut thru this wood like butter and I guess it's not only a question of sharpening the knife.
I've never used a balsa wood before, so I don't know the difference. The quality of the wood is always different every time I order it. The wood I ordered this time is very soft. Thank you for watching!👍🤗
I've carved balsa before, it's extremely soft but doesn't hold detail well. I don't think you could achieve this detail with a similar density wood, I expect it's like basswood and his knife is just very sharp.
@@nelly5954 I also tried Balsa, but it is absolutely not intended for carving. I use Basswood, but this Jelutong sounds totally different, less dense than basswood. And he needs nearly no force to get big chunks out of it. His knifes must be insanely sharp. I do a lot of careful sharpening, but with basswood I never get that easy to go results.
@@daydreamzstudios I've carved with pine for years mostly because basswood is so hard to get here. I've just bought some for the first time finally, so it'll probably still feel like carving a potato by comparison lol
