Years ago, I was working on a house and noticed a grass fire approaching. I had a commercial leaf blower and was able to quickly put the fire out. I realized that in the right conditions the leaf blower would be a great grass-fire fighting tool. I went to my local fire station and shared my experience with the firemen there. They all laughed at me and walked away. That was 23 years ago. Now I am happy that the concept is catching on.

On my Echo 580 leaf blower, I added another extension tube and also put a 4" to 3" metal reducer, like from a gas water heater,on the end and it allows me to get ALOT closer to the Fire line with the metal reducer and yet, I'm farther away with my body and the extra tube extension was from PTO plastic cover, that I found along the side of the road and just happened to see it and screwed it to the end of the Manufacturer's Tube and added the metal reducer and all the wind from the blower is Now At the firebreak Or Fire edge and alot less rogue wind and another part of the ideas of using a leaf blower is it's needs to be over the 250 Miles per hour and I don't have the CFM Numbers but anything less than that, only will fan the flames and not put it out and cause problems and I have heard And seen other videos that tell you to stay in the black to fight Fire with the leaf blower but only if you want to keep the fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥 going, but you must stay in the unburnt to put it out and YOU can blow the Fire out in the Tall Grass also and from my experience with the Tall Grass, you pick when you can get put it out Or let it burn ❤️‍🔥 a little bit then work on it again and also having the extra tube extension on the blower is a mandatory to control your wind directions and excess heat and also in turnouts if possible, but I know they are heavy, but also necessary unless they have something else that is newer, but when I get to the Fire it's going out ,either with the blower or my backpack sprayers and It just depends on the weather and the Fire 🔥 of what I use to put it out..... and Echo and Husqvarna makes blowers that will go The 250 Mile not sure Stihl has one yet but but I have looked at the Stihl 600 but I don't remember the numbers It gave for blower speed. But this is what I have learned from Fire leaf blower fighting..... and does a great job 👍👍👍👍👍.... and also if you have a backpack sprayers with the blower you can walk the line, blower is first and water to put out the hot 🔥 spot's Or 2 blower's together can really walk that line... Just from my experiences......
