Some history, this mod was actually created back in April 2024. That's before Pandemonic Elfilis! When I first gained the desire to create sadistically hard bosses, Triple Deluxe was my first outlet, and this was the result. But, when the mod was basically 95%+ done, I somewhat lost motivation for it and put this mod on hold (though it was mostly me gaining a bigger urge to make unfair Elfilis). Now, it's not anywhere near as hard as Pandemonic Elfilis, and part of that comes from the fact that you have to fight four bosses in a row here compared to Pandemonic Elfilis being 1 (Or, 5 compared to 2, if you count the soul cores as different bosses). Plus, having Spring Breeze Mode + 4 healthbars from Life Ups in FL compared to just 4 regular tomatoes and a stock Maxim in Triple Deluxe's True Arena meant I could really go all out in FL. But another part of it was simply just that FL is a lot easier to work with, which allowed me to really pull off crazy ideas that I couldn't in Triple Deluxe. And managing to pull off crazy ideas led to more crazy ideas. Working on Pandemonic Elfilis directly after working on this Triple Deluxe mod probably also skewed my perception of what being hard meant, and honestly I might've come out of this mod's development much smarter and better at modding than I was entering, and was able to carry that skill freshly into making Pandemonic Elfilis right from the start. My plan was to go right back to this afterwards, but I got burned out on playing my own difficult mods after deciding to make the EX version of Pandemonic Elfilis. Eventually, months had passed, and well, I've decided that the challenge of having to pick back up from where I left off for a mod I hadn't worked on in 8 months would be a pain, so I decided to basically release it as it is. Honestly, it was basically done, the final touches in my case when making a mod is playing through it with no 'debug features' and recording a video of it. And of course, that's when I make the final balance adjustments as things in my mod frustrate me too much. That's really all I had to do for this mod before I stopped working on it. However, in this video, I am not playing through the four bosses in one continuous run; I use savestates to show each boss individually, since I really don't feel like investing the time to getting good enough at it (again) to be able to fight all four in one run. I did actually play through all four bosses at once back in April, but without a RUclips-quality recording, so it is nearly tested to that extent regardless. But TL;DR: is that being a mod I made 8 months ago, and at a debatable state of completion compared to my other big mods, please understand that it may feel less polished than my recent mods. Let me talk about some specific cases. You'll notice at some points Queen Sectonia DX and especially Dark Meta Knight basically teleport from one position to another, not through their actual ability to Warp but from literally just snapping from one position to another. This is probably something I wouldn't have done in more recent mods, where I held a greater focus on maintaining the visual and logical quality of the bosses despite trying to make them more difficult. Though, it's not that I feel like it's some big sin or failure in quality either. Another thing is that Dark Meta Knight's Spin Slash might be impossibly difficult to evade without an ability that gives you i-frames during movement. My philosophy when making attacks here was that it was fine for attacks to only be avoidable using Dodges, like Dark Meta Knight's background Tornadoes and Soul of Sectonia's Deadly Bound Sun. But in the case of Spin Slash, while there was a strategy in my head for avoiding it by running away from him to make sure he does the grounded version instead of the aerial version and them jumping only the moment it starts (At least, I think it was just that?), I remember failing to pull off that strategy more often than not. It might be a move that you'll just have to Guard. Well, anyway, if you jump too early and he does the aerial version, I don't think it does as much damage as it does in base-game since the increased height and speed it has means that you don't get trapped in it for the full attack. I think. The biggest thing is probably Soul of Sectonia's Floral Cannon. At one point, the Sectonia Flowered change the direction they're facing right before firing. Unfortunately, the hitbox is actually really really jank during this and you can easily get hit by the laser even though you're visually not directly inside it. It's an attack you still shouldn't have trouble avoiding by hiding in the right corner if you fully respect it with awareness of this issue though. It's definitely a failure in quality but the idea of them going 'psych!' with where they're firing their lasers is just too cool for me to care about the jank enough to remove it. The final thing is Vine Bind during the Core fight of Soul of Sectonia. It comes out in a combo of four vines from the side of the screen, then three vines from underneath the stage. As you might notice in the video, I make a point of luring the third screen-side vine to fire high before avoiding it by falling underneath it, rather than just flying above it and the fourth vine when they shoot at me. The reason for this is that if you're above those vines, you get dragged down into them by the top of the screen when the camera tilts down to show the vines coming from below. Since this is a solvable 'issue' with a consistent way to dodge it, I thought it was fine back then, even if someone might feel that that is an 'unfair' way to get hit. ...Well, it is supposed to be unfair boss fights, I suppose.
Actually, the part that the sectonia flower phase has a time limit and that when it is completed the background changes to when the sun rises is a very successful detail on the part of the creator of the mod, since in addition to being a reference to the last desperate attack of star dream soul hearth, in turn plays with the description of sectonia's soul
I think it's important that the final four (Nightmare Four, Four Otherworldly Kings, or whatever HAL calls them nowadays) have all been empowered. Nowadays, it's mostly the final Soul boss that gets the most attention, and occasionally the penultimate boss gets time in the limelight due to being the final foe of the Extra Mode. However, in the first ever True Arena, the true final boss was just the final part to the Final Four, and the other three are treated as being equally worthy rather than just "the joes leading up to the REAL main course". That being said though, the true final boss still deserves special treatment, and on that part you absolutely delivered. SoS's attacks are designed to be overlapped, but in the original fight it was all very co-ordinated and methodical. It is notably much more chaotic here, and I like that it gives a vibe similar to that of the Directors duo fight from A Hat in Time. Honestly, I'm just happy that DMK's Revenge is given another chance to shine. DMK's Triple Deluxe appearance is my singular favorite modern Kirby bossfight, as although he is learnable to an extent, one can never fully master him so it's always an exciting, fast-paced fight. It's just a shame that in the original game you can abuse the 2x damage multiplier when his clones are present to nuke him before he gets to do anything cool, since otherwise Phase 2 DMK's Revenge is peak modern Kirby boss. Regardless, this is gonna be some nice spice at the end of my TDX True Arena runs, thanks in advance.
I consider kirby super star ultra to have the best true arena, the big three (screw you wam bam jewel) are all amazing and fun Any ktd fan knows for a fact that this mother fucker is the hardest boss in the game, not even close I say that it's good how you can nuke him before he pulles out all the stuff I lost so many times to this fucking borb, before i fought him i liked him, now i dont know
I think what i like about these kinds of mods is how they speed up attack patterns. It shows just how much the bosses can push the physics engine and how much HAL could really do if they wanted to make kirby very difficult.
I guess if you didn't finish off Soul of Sectonia's first phase, she'd force the screen to switch the day version of the arena and fire off the unavoidable laser from the Hypernova section of Story mode.
I LOVE how Flowered Soul of Sectonia starts to use multiple of her attacks at once, and the fact that honestly the combined patterns seem reasonably dodgeable with enough practice. It looks sick as hell and really challenges the pattern recognition that Kirby bosses are known for
I literally got this game by a friend letting me try it and this (normally) is hard and then theirs this…. Im going to get (p)issed so hard at theses bosses.
I’ve been waiting for a hard mode mod for a long time for this game as unfortunately for me I can’t get access to modded bosses since I don’t got an old switch. So this would be fun to try out, especially since it’s a hard mod made by you as yours have always seemed challenging but always made possible by just understanding attack cycles and game mechanics which is why I’ve always loved your ones so much cause of that reason. Thanks for showing this off can’t wait to try :p
Call me insane, but Dark Meta looks more like a fair fight for him, i mean if we delete that ass teleport, it looks feels like a players doing stuff. I liked that fight
Yep, her final laser ignores any form of invincibility, be it Stone, Archer's Camouflage, or invincible Guards like Bell, Leaf, or Ice. It even ignores the second or two of invincibility you get after swallowing an ability.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who knows you can attack her while she's teleporting lmao. If more people knew so many time records would be quicker
In my honest opinion, especially in Star Allies, all they need to do to make Kirby bosses harder is just give them more health. There is no reason why a EX Kirby Boss in Vanilla should be dying to like 5 hammer flips. Also maybe get rid of like a lot of intangibilty frames that come with a lot of moves (again, more of a star allies problem, there's no reason for an attack that deals massive damage to have you intangible for a whole 10 seconds with 0 cooldown.)
Honestly? At least seeing the first fight so far, and I’ll continue to look through, this seems totally possible to do no damage/ability/guarding. Wouldn't make it harder if the shadow balls were slower than normal so kirby has to deal with more active hitboxes while shadow dedede charges the 3 big ones? Just asking for the theme of this mod.
That's a good idea, I have done things before like for phase 2 of Crowned Doomer in The T Arena Since they're moving in 3D though I don't know how effective it would be. Could be good but either way I think I'll leave things as they are unless there's a bug I feel like needs to be fixed.
Did they mod out the ability to copy Cutter from Soul Sectonia's attack? Not sure if it'd make it easier or not if you don't have to wait for projectiles
I've already made videos showing off Soul Melter and Soul Melter EX in my hard mode mod, I already have 4 videos of the hard mode so I really don't think it needs another one
@JeremiahGaming12345 Again, I have four videos showing off the bosses. There's literally nothing else to see, Pon & Con is a stupid boss, Grand Mam's a stupid boss and unchanged in the mod, so you're just left with Jambastion version of Flam and Zan, which are just basically slower versions of them.
@@SacredFaerie all right fine but while you’re replying to my comments I have a question I saw a comment on your void laser spam mod that said void had a unused attack. Is this true or are they just wishing void had an attack that he doesn’t
@JeremiahGaming12345 Void has quite a few unused attacks and assets. IIRC that comment was about an unused model for the Mini Cores that do the Black Hole attack, which only Void Termina and Void Soul use, but not Void.

There's actually time-out on Nightmare's Power Orb in Adventure and Real Dark Matter in Dream Land 2.
I can only imagine the "...oh NO" when you lose the hammer ability after getting attacked
Sectonia Soul being timed is pretty cool detail I wish the original games had done. Question does her times up attack ignores archer and stone?

I love these mods of cruelty
You see this mod is why i would use the leaf ability against thses bosses
is there a way to get this on a modded 3ds?

Does the Archer ability make these fights easier because of the crouch or no?
you should’ve used wheel kirby that ability is goated
How is this even possible
How can we EVEN play this mod on 3ds. or is it only available on Pc 3DS Emulator?
