    I am about to teach Daily Life in Ancient Greece for the first time and I love this. I am going to show it in the first class as an example of what my students might be able to do. (Not replicate the same thing but just to make the point that they can do something incredibly useful). This helped me a LOT - I can never understand how things like the Peplos work from descriptions or diagrams.

    Good morning to you Marina! I am currently producing an ancient Greek short-film and this is an insanely fabulous resource for authentic looks and small details (like the clay amulets). I have several history consultants and greek actors (Alexios from AC Odyssey for example) involved, and I want to make sure we get the best looks for the time. So thank you for such a fantastic video!

    You did a good job on this impression. From the fabric to the accessories. Everything looked authentic. I'd like to see an attempt of the Phrygian style as well.

    Would the fabric have been neatly hemmed?

    • @leafballard8717
      @leafballard8717 2 месяца назад +1

      Yes. When fabric is expensive and/or takes a long time for make, you take the best care of it that you can. Unless you are asking if the fabric needed hemming or was just selvage edges, since there isn’t much cutting involved

    Fifty years ago the classic peplos was still being worn on a daily basis by girls in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. While I give the model A for effort, those Moroccan girls wore it much more stylishly and naturally. Photographs of them can be seen in at least one National Geographics afticle of the time.
