Once hardcore mode is finished the map file will be invalid to all editors since its encrypted.

They have already put in the encryption. It's the file name that gets encrypted.

@@OldFeller They havnt added it yet. mapsecret convar is missing for current aux02 branches. Which is the key that it would use to encrypt the map file. Then when asking the devs about it missing they confirmed its not in the branch yet.

We already told Jake Rich about this a few times so prob wont be a thing when hardcore is in a playable state (do you keep an eye on official rust discord coz it’s been discussed by actual mappers) who have been using RE for years. Rustmaps also will also be stopped or they have said they wont support getting the map image etc.

Paint it on to large canvas and hang it in a secure room of your base

I tried to get an AUX02 branch going but anytime anyone (including myself) tried to join I'd get an exception about adding a duplicate key into the dictionary. Did you run into this? If so, how did u fix it?

I had the same problem but my friend Gimmil Factory entered "server.encryption 1" in the console and it goes away

Anyone have a map drawing tool to create a map as you go in hardcore instead of drawing it out on paper?

Problem is they have changed the map names and a lot of servers are using custom maps.

Still works, can confirm used literally right now. Btw if you go into your files to find map directly after playing on the server you want it for, it’ll be the very first one. Can check date created and stuff to be sure!

bruh rustedit has better colors then rust
