Thank you for sharing your process! If I could ask one question: After you had the outline made, how did you transfer that to the pavement? Did you use a projector or freehand or something else?
Well you can't say more than Awesome! except several times Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome...
I love your fish and how your shared the process from start to finish. When drawing, how do you know how long to stretch each box? The ones furthest away get stretched really far, but how far? is there a formula?
Go find someplace where you can make a whole 1 ft grid on the ground (use a measuring tape and snapline). Maybe make it 10X20 feet. Then take a photo of it from about 4 feet back from the middle (that’s going to be where you put your footprints when you recreate it). Then use that photo to digitally design on top of. Once you’re done designing, stretch it until the grid is actual squares (like it would appear from directly above). Then you have your map for how to draw it on the ground (possibly in the same place you already made your grid, but not necessarily- you can recreate the same grid anywhere).
HEY! Sooo my daughter (10) has been chalking for the past 3 months now, and unlike many other things she does, she seems to be sticking with this one... i want to get good at this so we can grow our skills together, and maybe inspire some other kids to join in. ☺ That said, I'm on a budget but plan to follow your method.. I'm working with an Acer Aspire V laptop that can run GIMP 2.10. I have a Canon A-6000 for pic taking. I also have a TON of vertical canvas space outside my house, but the chalk doesn't seem to stick, or applies very faded color... That's the whole setup, but i specifically need help navigating my software, and identifying the tools used in your method. Also, how do I pick a chalk? Sorry for all the questions, but my knowledge in this is only rivaled by my actual artistic ability... it's fledgling bit inspired
