When the flutes come in at 1:48, as someone who never cries, I got bloody close. The hauntingly beautiful nostalgia took me completely by surprise, flashback to when I saw this movie as 5 year old dreamer wanting nothing more than to sail the galaxy. This film is so powerful.
+William Cann Totally agree. When I watch this movie and its soundtrack, in my mind I only think about making a solar surfer machine...Believe me, this is one of the movies of my lifetime...
Bloody hell, everytime I hear the music, the scenes just *come* to me. Every frame, from the hustling and bustling of the crew as the Legacy prepares for flight, to the music of the Orcus Galacticus as they fly across space. And with Jimmy's little "Whoa." Comes together like a mini-movie. God, the nostalgia...
Back when I was living in Japan during the weekdays, at around 12~13:00, they would show a film of some sort on TV. They would open with parts (1:28 to around 1:44) for the into scene, telling you in Japanese and English what the film was going to be and the year it was released, then with parts 1:48~1:55 for the end. It really stuck in my head arfter all these years.
This whole soundtrack and the movie... Masterpiece. Thank you all who worked on it! Part of my childhood and still is very much close :) Like... It just calls for an adventure!
I love this movie as a 4 year old and I still do today as an 18 year old and I love this song especially At 1:48 when the flutes come in I envision being out a sea on a naval vessel sailing into the sunset and I soon to be joining the Navy as a matter of fact

One of the best and most under appreciated soundtrack ever.
An under-appreciated soundtrack for an under-appreciated movie.
Seconded!
"Brace yourself Doctor" ...sarcastic murmurs... "AAAHHHHH" classic scene.
Yess
🤣

You know a film has left an impact on you where you can hear the soundtrack and picture the scene in your head that corresponds to it
"Well my old friend, shall we raise this creaking tub?"

Same here. I know this comment is old, but I just found this video now.
I love this soundtracks so much
The harmonies, rising and falling pitches and constant orchestral energy really sell this for me.
Also 1:48 because I have ears.
"Brace yourself, doctor."
2:18 should be its own song.
This soundtrack remembers me my first travel on plane.
1:28
I listen to this for 1:29
Man, it would be nice if I go through the treasure planet movie and be at the ship in real life, so I can be with Captain Amelia during the fun day.
I feel some Final Fantasy XII / Final Fantasy Tactics vibes in this
This was the "The Egg Travels" of Treasure Planet
