If you overlooked the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in the past, the Japanese automaker wants you to have another look with the 2022 model. With revised looks and a less funky vibe, the underdog SUV hits dealers soon with a starting price of $24,590.
Now, the low price doesn't get you a lot of the goods other Eclipse Cross models carry. Specifically, the $24,590 price, which includes a $1,195 destination charge, nets buyers an ES trim that lacks the brand's updated infotainment system with 8-inch display. So, realistically, the LE trim will be a better volume seller. Honestly, who knows how many ES trims will even make their way to dealership lots. Moving to the LE includes the mentioned 8-inch display with a new infotainment system, standard heated seats, automatic high beams and rain-sensing wipers.
Just so Eclipse Cross shoppers know their options, the SE trim rings in at $27,340 and the range-topping SEL trim comes in at $28,590. An optional Touring Package adds $2,100 to the SEL's price, but it also loads the SUV with heated seats in the front and rear, plus nine different reclining options. Also note the brand's Super All-Wheel Control AWD system costs $1,600 atop any trim.
Now that you know what you get along the trim hierarchy, it comes down to the Eclipse Cross' new looks. While the front receives mild tweaks for the better, the rear gets the bigger changes and ditches the long light bar for some more conventional taillights. It's a little more anonymous, but it's certainly not bad. Inside, the SUV's lined with more premium materials and ergonomic changes, including good ol' volume and tuning knobs for the infotainment system. The old touchpad is gone. Oh, and there's a little more cargo space, too.

Been driving the same Mitsubishi for 14 years…. Bought it Brand New in 2007. Never has Broke down or Not Started…. Requires preventative maintenance of course to achieve that. The only thing that failed was the Alternator a little over a year ago that I replaced with an original remanufactured one…. And only have 2 battery replacements…. With the original battery lasting 7 years. Starter started sounding like crap last year so I had it rebuilt… and replace the ignition switch at the same time to be safe. Love My Car. @@spendalkendal1827 I had a 2007 as well, and at 97,000 miles I did all the wheel bearings, brakes/pad, timing belt and spark plugs. Not a fun task but the only failures I had in 13 years was a battery that died, and a CV boot that turned into a failed cv axle and intermediate shaft bearing on it's way out. I have found that at 100k miles is a heavy maintenance milestone for most Japanese cars. I also had a 2018 Eclipse Cross and LOVED it, unfortunately had to sell both to move to Japan.

This is why i came back to Mitsu as i found out honda and toyota started to manufactured in NA. Yes mitsu does not have a lot of luxurious stuff in it but the buillt quality and the 10 yr warranty is amazing! Got a 2022 eclipse cross es-awd for an entry man its enough to be satisfied with.

I have an Eclipse Cross 2020 and as soon as this model arrives in my country I will buy it. This car is TOP.
If you compare the production factor between Mitsubishi and Tesla, you will know which to buy. Mitsubishi is really focus on quality on everything for a real driver and car owner, from paint to motor, except marketing and software interface. PHEV is making more sense then pure electric, tesla's car is just over exaggerated. PHEV is simply an electric car plus mobile generator. An engine running in that way could exist a very long period of time. Anytime Plug-in is just so perfect.
I have a delica d5… i can redecorate my house with the recall letters, it take one week to obtain parts while the car is build in a factory 45 minutes drive away from my home and i’m now on a first mame basis with my mechanics.

Forever will love Mitsubishi vehicles. Since my childhood days my dad ( deceased ) started to work at Mitsubishi Motors Philippines 🇵🇭. After I graduated college I also worked at Mitsubishi ( Vehicle distribution dept. ) late 90’s. At present, got a Mitsubishi ASX 4x4 here in England. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi stopped selling brand new vehicles in this region & decided to concentrate in Asian market which they are good in sales/profits which is true. I love Mitsubishi & became our bread & butter.
Hi Joman, I'll be driving to the UK from Czech Republic in our 2021 mitsubishi eclipse cross phev 2.4. The issue I have is whether I can buy a 3 pin charging cable for UK use. Thank God its not full EV so we can stop for fuel when battery is weak. Thank you. Nick Louis
BTW we moved here from London in 2021. We used to hv a Volvo XC90. Good for long distance. So trying the PHEV cross will be a challenge. Wonder why Mitsubishi pulled out from UK? My ex UK neighbour just bought an E powered Qashqai. 😊

Looks good but the biggest deal breaker is the low MPG for it not being a full size SUV. I expected atleast 28 in city and 35 in highway

It does change things for us in the UK, but I’m glad I’ve tested a few models and I wasnt keen on any of them. The only car I like is the Shogun Sport, and these are selling fast, not many new ones left now on Auto Trader.

MHI never sold Mitsubish Brand. It´s only an alliance.
@@gleitsonSalles MHI only has 10% stake in Mitsu motors. Nissan is the largest stakeholder with 34% share effectively controlling the company. All the new Mitsu models will be based on shared platform with Renault-Nissan.

Unfortunately, Mitsubishi in Indonesia doesn’t have good technical support for Eclipse Cross yet. We have problems with brake system since beginning, can’t be solved until now.

We have a 2018 eclipse cross 3 . Was looking forward to the new 2022 eclipse next year but with Mitsubishi pulling out of Europe and UK will not be possible . Very sad and a lot of disappointed owners customers ..
