  • In this episode of Auto Afflicted. We drop by Adrenaline service and dyno ( ‪@ADRENALINEDYNO‬ ) to quantify how much power the Mercedes-Benz M103 Turbo is making. We take a few pulls on the dyno and I explain some of the key tuning elements that get the turbo running smooth with the stock K-jet fuel management.

    People talk about 2jz but this was original 2jz that many companies including Toyota used as blueprint to design their inline engines

      M104 is a kinda apple to apple comparison to 2JZ. A descendent to the M103 in this C124. Dual cam, variable valve timing, aluminum head and iron body. But M104 has an infamous head gasket issue that 2JZ doesn’t have. Except that those m103/104 are very good engines.

    Awesome vid mate, I have the same model and am In the process of getting the pieces together to blow some wind up it, instead of me asking a million questions, is there a place you get your information on tuning? How to control on boost enrichment?

    • @AutoAfflicted
      @AutoAfflicted  Год назад +1

      So my turbo kit came with a manual boost controller and 3 springs .. you can check video # 1 for the parts list and links to everything I’ve bought - I’ve set that up with the 2 port external wastegate to have 8-9psi on the street … on the dyno I only pulled 7 due to lack of load resistance . The only tuning I did to it beyond that, I explained at the end of this video. In the description of this video are links to gapping plugs, adjusting the idle valve and the eha valve. If you have more questions feel free to ask - that what I’m here for 🤛🏽

    Soooo .. are you using the "fuel quality " knob to pull timing out ? its just a heap of resistors i always dreamed about putting a boost triggered relay on it and pulling timing just on boost ... a water meth kit i imagine would be another great tool to raise the possibilities of getting up over 10 psi

    • @AutoAfflicted
      @AutoAfflicted  11 месяцев назад

      I increased the fuel pressure at the AHE valve by 1/4 turn and gapped the plugs .028, the adjust the Air fuel mix with the idle adjustment. I believe I can go over 10psi with stock kjet fuel management

    • @incolink
      @incolink 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@AutoAfflicted i was talking about ignition timing do you have the knob attached to the ignition module ? i believe there is up to 5 degrees that can be taken out with that witch will be handy for you making boost so early you are at high risk of getting knocky .. ignition timing and knock is much more of issue at 3000 rpm where your little turbo is making plenty of boost .. keep at it great content

    • @AutoAfflicted
      @AutoAfflicted  11 месяцев назад

      My car does not have the fuel quality knob. I found some research that showed Turbo Technics recommend setting S or 1 which retarded the timing 39-43 @ 3200rpm which is standard for premium gas M103. You could def achieve the timing on boost you desire with a stand alone .. thanks for the input and checking it out! Always looking to improve this and spread the knowledge
