honestly the tv show armor is really good. its a combination of the gen 3, forward unto dawn movie and H2A armors, which all of those are easily top 3. even the armor the other spartans wear is great. idk why people hate on the aesthetic of the tv show, like bro i can understand hating the actual plot and writing but dawg its genuinely the best looking piece of halo media since H3 landfall.

Halo 4's Chief perfectly captures the "Old battle scarred tank" look that they were going for. It's so god damn beautiful no matter how far they strayed from the original design. The Halo 5 one has the same overall shape but the plasticky textures and reflections just ruined it for me. Halo 5 is a mixed game graphically for me. It's environments looks beautiful as all hell but the character models are just so garish.
Seriously, at least for me the biggest mistake 343 did to the Halo 5 GEN 2 was adding that colored layer on the upper bodysuit, it did NOT blend well and it really shows with Halo 4 chief where the full black undersuit contrasted well with the armored plates.
I’ve honestly like them all, 4 and 5 a little less because they kept adding shit on him but it wasn’t bad just weird. I prefer halo 2 anniversary tho, than probably 3.
Really the only big problems with the H5 and show designs are the undersuits. The show techsuits are messy and the H5 ones have too much color bleeding over from the armor, it completely ruins the look of any armor you put on it. Fuck colored techsuits.

I do actually see two major differences, and it’s down to the texture and coloring. Halo 4 has paint scraped off of it at the edges, and has a black techsuit underneath. Halo 5 is way too clean, almost like plastic, and has the techsuit in the same color as the armor. In any case, 4’s armor is not terrible, at least when 5 is in the equation.
