Wow that looked like a nightmare man haha. Turned out really sick though. I’m a sucker for white so I def approve. 👏
Jaret Campisi Has anyone made an all carbon 2017 R6 yet? :v
why an R6? when you could do an R1?!?!
I think that has been done
Is there anything you can't do? Always quality and entertaining content. Keep it up, bike looks amazing so far, can't wait to see when it is all done
Dang thanks a lot man!!
@@motonosity Hi Moto, I want to wrap my older model Ducati to resemble the newer ones that came out w/that satin white pearl color. I know it been 3 years+ since this video came out, is that 3M 2080 stuff still the best choice, or can you recommend something better? How did yours hold up and how long do you usually see wraps lasting on bikes exposed to something like Florida sun? Thanks for any help you can provide. MAF
have a 87 tw200 so i don't plan on doing wrap but i still watched the whole video because i like learning new things.
You need to add those stickers back, without it it looks blank for some reason
i know, i know, he can't return the old stickers, but he can order new ones with diffrent color
Agreed. Got a few different ideas, just gotta decide on it first!
As a man in the vinyl wrapping industry - for a first timer - you did awesome. Tips from a pro? Order cheap Chinese plastics and paint them haha.
Really though, gas tanks are extremely difficult, as you mentioned. And the most common practice I see with tanks is 3 pieces. Without going into tons of detail, lots of places use knifeless tape along the top edge, wrap the sides first and get everything tucked and trimmed, cut with the tape and then do the top.
If you really, really, really want 1 piece, start with one of the harder places of the tank (near where your crotch sits) and stretch it out from there. I know 3M works well with heat but like you said you can overdo it - but heat and pull and place, let it cool and then do it again until it looks relatively smooth then flatten it to the tank with your squeegee or fingers.
Also, good choice in colour. But all your bikes look the same! They're all white!
Really appreciate this comment, Andrew! Thanks!
When I was doing my RUclips wrap lessons before starting lol, I saw that tanks are often done in multiple pieces, but CAN be done in one, so I just decided to try. Surprisingly was able to do it. The tank/airbox cover was a different story though. That was a major pain. Thanks for the tip on the best strategy to do it, though. I'm sure it all comes with experience!
Motonosity I dont know if Andrew feels the same way but I stretch and heat around the plastics first before using the squeegee to set everything. If that's a 3M vinyl I would use a blowtorch over the plastics for a final step, it will clear out most if not all of the squeegee scratches/marks, just a quick pass over everything keep the torch moving constantly tho. Also, coming down to wrapping vehicles I remove everything removable possible, trunk spoiler, license plates, front/rear bumpers, fenders, quarter panels if possible helps tuck easier and make it look better. When using the squeegee use a soap and water solution. Just some tips, I'm not a pro by any means but just what I do. Cheers!
Thank you for this comment. I'm looking to get a cbr500r this weekend and really want to vinyl wrap it purple. I was thinking of attempting one piece but I might go the 3 piece route. Safe riding! 🤙

If chase was also wrapping his bike he would make 10 episodes of it and 5 of those episodes would be him taking bullshit and making shitty jokes !!
Nicely done Brent :D
Double8 Four8 I couldn't agree more.
then the last episode would be some other guy coming along and redoing it all right
That editing in the intro! 🔥🔥
Glad you liked it! 😘
thanks bro! really aint much out there on wrapping bikes.
Awesome results! Great tips, makes me want to wrap my R6 someday! The white is so clean!!
I like the wrap! Is it illegal to wrap a bike though? I was just googling it and saw some things saying it was illegal to wrap the bike
"...not as easy as you'd think..."
Well, I never thought a wrap job would be easy... especially a bike wrap. I'm really surprised you'd even attempt a bike yourself without ever having done it before.
Everyone who attempts it has never done it before at one point, so why be surprised?
Gold rims!?!? 😍😍😍
I've done several motorcycles and you really don't need expensive vinyl. I've done a couple of motorcycles with Ali Express vinyl with excellent results. As long as it's matte or satin finish it is as easy to apply as more expensive vinyl and looks very nice. I haven't tried gloss, so I can't say what that would be like. I also really like the textured carbon from Ali.
when you go out and in the middle of way, u got rainy, nice colour
Your hand is a gift. You can paint, you can fix and you can wrap..
I know this was 3 years ago, but any advice for those recessed fairing bolt holes? They are what I'm most concerned about.
Seen ya in a couple videos now with those headphones on; what kind of music do you like to listen to when you work?
When ever your wrapping with vinyl depending on brand and type of vinyl you can put up to 30% stretch on it without seeing any color difference or ghosting
It would be great if you paint the wheels gold and use gold stickers
Hi :) How much this material resist this when you wash your bike?
Yeah... I dunno, after seeing it completed I kinda wish you'd have just got it painted. My fake OCD can't handle the small imperfections.
BucketsAMF thats what OCD is lol
Can you share with me the exact size of the role that you got of vinyl?
Im looking to aliexpres to wrap my motocylce but I have hair dryer and heat glue , Can I do it ? learn it what do you think ?
Hi,how much did u use ,name or the wrap and price. Thank you.
I would like to wrap my ultra classic (Harley touring bike) but I want to do a flag design. I have an idea of how I want the design. Can you remove the wrapping years later or will it just mess up the paint job? what type of vinyl do you recommend that would have the flag print on it or where to purchase from?
You have inspired me to wrap my z1000! Great video man👌😎
Did ya do it?
Do I have to remove the stickers on my bike to do a wrap?
Motonosity i am literally on the last 2 pieces of wrapping drz
O.o DRZ? Cool!! 😎
How many feet of vinyl did you end up using?
I so want an R6, still enjoying my R3 though
same
I've had an R6. I really want a R3 haha
Im so using these tips to wrap my lunch!
I got a limited edition R6 would love to wrap it but im affraid it would damage the paint if i would get bored of it and take it off?
Really appreciated your video man. Just wondering, will the vinyl around the plastic near the exhaust withstand the heat? Could it be it can turn bad after a few months?
Thanks for the video. It pretty much confirms that I won't try this at home. Montonosity, you are so well spoken and so well prepared, you ought to consider using your talents in a career if that sort of thing interests you.
Are your OEM R6 tires Dunlap or Bridgestone?
Do you have the R6 decals coming? Blue letters on the white would look nice!
Still trying to decide on that front. Got a lot of different ideas swirling in my head so wanna think on it for a bit before I commit haha.
You did an awesome job. Im in the middle of a bike wrap with avery sw900 diamond blue and this stuff isn't for the weak of heart. I got quoted 1k and decided to do it myself. I've got imperfections and some wrinkles but the whole bike is only taking 5x4 to wrap so i can always rewrap and gain experience. This is really not as easy as it looks on tight corners.
Its amazing to see how you yourself take up the challenge to work on the bike. And also for these quality videos that help people like me who want to be like you i.e. work on our motorcycles ourselves!
Btw, the work you do in garage does it always work out in first try or its based on trail and error?
I don't feel comfortable paying $1000+ to wrap my tiny bike ( '15 ktm rc390) so I just found a good website with legit products. And I will be coming back to this video a lot during my future learning experience
Could you share the website?
What camera do you use for your videos? Keep posting 👍
Hey! I use a Sony A7Rii
I've been waiting all day for this.Thank you.17th
Just ordered the stuff to wrap my 650R! Thanks for the inspiration!
Are we talking Honda? How did it turn out? I'm about to Wrap mine too. 🤔
@@Variablefuenf62 Ninja. I quickly realized that wrapping it not easy lol. Did most of the panels besides the side fairings then sold the bike
Great video! I'm vinyl rapping my Yamaha R1. And your video. Really helped me out. Thank you
How did your wrap job go? lol thx
HI GUYS ITS MOTO FROM MOTONIZEE AND TODAY ITS ALL ABOUT THIS R6. if you know, you know...
A little disappointed we didn't get a cinematic walk around of the completed bike at the end.
I wanna save that for when it's REALLY complete. All pieces back on, new graphics, etc.
Anyone know how to go about wrapping the rear end of an 09 fz1 with the passenger handles?
Hey why don't you come over and have some real fun and tear my F6B apart and do that to it! LOL, good job looks good
#1 - PATIENCE. And people don't understand it and say why it cost so much. Well, try it yourself and than let me know if you still want to do it.
Bet he gets red r6 rims next
Sexy. You know when you're planning to give away the r3?
Yep in about a week or so ;)
i wrapped a black plastic trim on my bike, it peels off and air pockets on curves. Should use primer there, but how about on smooth plastic fairings? I dont see you use primer, It's my 1st time so Im afraid to have a failed project wasted money.
Looks so good dude! Let's make a video together with it all new like (;
Let's do it!
Motonosity ;D
Seth King i
The colour is nice. But now are all insides bleu.... thats a point what me should do frustated inside de cockpit and inside the open ass pieces. are 2 points you see good
So how much do you think it would take to wrap my 1997 Zx7r 750cc Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle in say staten Island looking into manhatten sky line on one side and Brooklyn Bridge on other side...US Route 40 Route 66 etc onto : upper cowl ; covers for ram air ducts ; right and left side panels ; right & left side rear tail section plastics and center plastic piece of tail section. Provided I am able to find the design to go on my motorcycle....lol
Hi mate. Very timely vid for me as I'm just about to wrap my bike this weekend.
Can I ask, when placing decals, people first spray soapy water and then squeegee out to stick.
Why don't vinyl wrappers do the same?
I've noticed all wrappers place wrap directly on the surface. Why is that?
I tried wrapping my ninja 400 as hell as plastidipped a couple parts and I tried hydro dip. Long story short I'm redoing it about 2 months later and I am spray painting the parts. It is definitely a pain to wrap motorcycles but if you have the patience and time (I have a small amount of both) take your time with it, have fun and enjoy the process.
Changed the beautiful blue for bland white? Weird! Helpful video though.
dude like this bike already comes in white couldn't you choose something a little more interesting? good job tho
I would not have the patience for that I would of just painted it lol
So obviously I know a neo chromatic wrap is going to be slot more difficult to.do but how much practice would anyone say is needed to do a neo chromatic wrap and.not destroy the color flip? I've been told you can't stretch the materials much if any at all is this true? I plan on just doing my tank my front wheel fender and the Honda stripes on my matte black fairings so its a matte black and purple neo chromatic pen style design
I hope you used some extra clue on the parts where the vinyl is most likely to peel back.
I’m wrapping my r6 as well. How much wrap did you buy and how much did you actually use? Don’t wanna buy too much and not need it. Thanks!!
I'm wrapping a 2006 gsxr and there isn't one flat piece and it's 23 separate pieces, Kill me 🔫🔫🔫😑😑
That tank looks like it was hell to wrap. Bike looks fresh 👌
why wrap 1 single color tho? u can just buy the plastics in what color u want xD at least for dirtbikes/supermotos
Wrapped it on the bike. Pieces moving around drove me bananas. Also Help was busy doing her own sh!t
Hey Moto, Good effort for a first wrap attempt.. bet you wish that you hadn't started this wrap in the first place LOL. Fortunately the wrap is only temporary. As long as you haven't damaged to original paint work then it all good. I prefer the Yamaha blue anyway.
I want to do it myself but I'm afraid of disassemble the motorcycle and assemble again Not afraid to do wrapping 😂
you would save alot of headache leaving the tank on the bike for the majority of the stretching. along with other parts...
DAYUM that looks clean AF! white bikes look fine..hopefully i'm gonna dress mine in white within the next month and wrapping may happen..again, really nice job!
im trying to get the 2017 yammaha r6 and its killing me i cant even get the money to make a down paymdent i have no ride and it sucks just wish i had money like you
its very clear that you wanted to show your arms and muscles more than the actual job. seems like youve been going to the Gim😄
Is it the same vinyl which is in the description? Coz it's showing gloss white bt which I see on your bike is pearl white
I am planing on wraping my honda cbr 125r so this was helpful, and i hope my cbr is a little easyer then that because it doesnt have so meny dents😂😅
So this is something I'd like to do myself you think if I get one 8'x5' piece that should be enough
good work but i think where the silver was by the underbelly you should of done different colour as it looks too much
WOW AWESOME....😲
I was thinking about subbing and then I saw the 240sx. I had to tap. I had a 89 240sx manual I bought for $6300.00 w/67,000miles on it in 1996 as my 1st car and I loved that car. Never knew what a legend it would become. Anyways....
I got to 2:25 and already I think I have found me my first Moto channel... Ive been riding off and on my whole life but in a few weeks I'll be owning my first sport touring bike and I haven't had a motorcycle period in about 10 years but I ride every year summer Midwest in friends Harley style bikes so I figured it'd be wise to soak up as much knowledge as I can and the horse I'm after is a disgusting gold color SOOOOOO..... Yeah. I'm subbing
Thinking of wrapping mine but I’m a bit scare to mess up, ever done it.
HELP! How were you able to take off the yamaha emblems on the tank cover??
All that effort and its almost guaranteed to lift off on the edges after some road grime and a few mild washes.. Ask me how I know. Even with 3M adhesion promoter / Vinyl and being very meticulous with laying it down my 636 looked like shit after a few months of riding.
It looks OK for how many sharp edges you have on that bike though.
How many feet by feet roll should I order especially for big side panels
So guys, what’s the over under you got until the wheels are dropped off at Enigma Powder coating? I’m saying 2 weeks. Im thinking it’ll be after the graphics kit is on. Unless it’s gunna be only for less than a year and then back to the blue...
Hey! I'm in Pflugerville and rocking an 09 ZX6R. I bought off my my brother in law whose angry ex took a screwdriver to the tank, fairing and rear seats. Thanks for this vid.
Great Looking R6 you got there, it doesn't look like the factory white whit that pearl finish on the vinyl, i liked the video for the awesome looking R6 and the tips.
Using too much heat will over stretch the material, i recommend do most of the wrap using cold stretch, too much heat and the vinyl would make this fingering effect if it's regaining the memories of them, i recommend watching the FESPA videos on Cold Stretch and Triangles.
cool project, but it's kinda plain... the blue really popped.
Cool bike - great finish - you must be a patient bloke - Since the lockdown ( i'm in France) i made all kinds of mods to my little Husky - the wrap arrived today so here goes - thanks for this vid i have a tad more confidence to give it a go - one question- is there some sense in leaving the tank on the bike ( if the design allows) simply to have more stability when applying or better to remove as you did working with two when needed for the tricky bit? many thx
Really don't think I'd do this if I wanted a flat color. Rather just get a good paint job. Looks quite doable if I ever wanted a complex design though.
That looks sick! I'm not that patient tho...so I just bought a white ninja 300 :) I'm finally in the motorcycle owners club! Hahaha
Aren't we all glad moto didn't do a C2W style ok so today we will wrap the tailpiece next week we will do the tank section. Haha I'm just kidding you did a great job moto love the color you picked!
Why didn't you get a white R6 in the first place?😂😂
How much would it cost to get it wrapped by a professional?
I just wrapped 10 pieces off my yamaha R1, doing the tank tomorrow. I used ~12 feet (purchased 15)
My Tips: Take your time, heat is your best friend, dont be afraid to lift and rework
Instagram: runawaybr1de
Any reason why you didn’t put the front tire hugger back on?
Honestly, it looks like a track bike with fairings that haven't been painted yet, like it's just primer. I'm sure it looks much nicer in person
I'm considering doing mine this winter when I put it away. Is the wrap able to get into the recessed areas for the bolts? I'm thinking of the large side fairings where they connect underneath the cat (07 R6)
Black wheels?
Motonosity sticker will fill those empty space. Anyway, good job sir!
Can't wait to see you wrapping your tesla😁
25 hours, hard weeks work then, lol in all seriousness think I'd rather stick to my 60 hour weeks and pay somebody to do it for me! Lol
Moto, your wrap work looks great. Absolutely terrific. I actually liked the Yamaha blue myself. But to each their own. Can somebody please explain to me why so many people like white bikes so much in the past few years...? I'm sincerely just curious. I have a KRT version of a ZX6R 636 myself. And while I love it, a lot of people hate it. Again, to each their own. But when I bought it the dealership also had a white version that was a little bit cheaper and they tried to get me to buy that one because they even thought it looked better. So can someone please explain why white motorcycles look better to them in a way to help me understand your point of view. Thank you in advance.
