I love love love this podcast. The structure, the diversity, the MUSIC! the passion and dedication. I love that you share historical tidbits. I think you have a wonderful family and are an adorable couple. My husband was very interested when I told him about you two and when he saw you he said he wished for us to look the same in a few years, because you show such happiness together. Thanks for spreading the knit love.
I am a new fan of Isabell Kraemer. Her patterns are very well written, and I love her shaping techniques to make well made garments. Another excellent episode
Excellent interview with Isabell--one of my favorite designers! Lovely to see Alieas (as I've knit 2 of them!) and to see the Snaeldan yarn in a yoked pullover. Well done again, Andrea and Andrew! Thanks so much for bringing the knitting community to us all :)
Love the podcast with Isabell. I was knitting her Aamu sweater while watching the pod cast. She is my favorite designer of all times. Knitted 10 of her designs to date and have many more on my list of to do. Thank you for bringing her interview to us.
This was excellent. I am enthralled with Isabell's work. I also loved the section on the Australian dyer taking inspiration from nature. Breathtaking colors. Andrea, keep up the good work. This is by far my favorite podcast for knitters.
I really enjoyed this episode. The weaving in and out of yarn while colourknitting is an amazing tip, thank you! I live in North Wales, about 35 mins. away from Betws y Coed - it's my favourite place to go! Although, I haven't done any knitting there yet. And Isabel Kraemer - I just love her patterns.
We loved hanging out in the Alpine cafe after a long hike. They are very dog friendly so Jack is always welcome. One day I counted 14 dogs in the cafe, all sitting/ quietly under the tables.
One of my favourite podcasts from Andrew and Andrea - informative, intelligent, artistic, creative and diverse !! Loved the segment about Wales and ancient trees and the Fairy Wrens which are very much part of the natural world where we live. This comment is well after the creation of this podcast in the Fruity Knitting repertoire but thinking of Andrew all the way through this and hoping and wishing for the very best of possible outcomes !
I have been lucky to have test knitted a number of sweaters for Isabell Kraemer and will attend to her wonderful, well written and funky style! This was an excellent podcast (as usual!).
OMG! Thank you Andrea for explaining the modification. I am a visual person and I have read Mrs. Newton’s book and Ann Budd books, and I have been lost and overwhelmed, you just opened my eyes and made it so much easier. Can’t wait for the other part of the sweater and the modifications there. Now, back to the podcast. Yes, I had to stop and write you so that I can tell you how excited that made me. Happy knitting and thank you once again. Pilark ❤️🇨🇴
Hi Pilar. Thanks for your feedback. We really enjoy having the video format and try to make the most of it, so it's great to hear that it was helpful for you.
i'm on my 5th isabel kraemer sweater.... can you tell i'm a fan!!!!! her patterns are classic, with small special details that just make her designs so appealing. not to mention, her patterns are extremely well written.... the alieas and arwen are my all time favourites right now. thanks so much for this interview with her, it was a pleasure to meet her. xo
While waiting for this podcast and having caught up on all your previous ones, I viewed many others. I just cemented my feelings that this podcast is the most well put together and enjoyable one of all that I have seen. I encourage anyone who sees this to support Andrea and Andrew with your patronage as I have hopes that you can continue this wonderful podcast into the future. Love them and the tutorials! Thank you.
At the end of every episode I always say, first, I am so glad I support this podcast as a PATREON at the highest level and second, brilliant information. As a stranded knitter of many years, I weave in the same way Andrea teaches. Every knitter needs to master this technique even if it just helps you weave in the ends as you add skeins on solid color work. Andrea, on the Tegna project would you address the problem some of us have with getting a different gauge between knitting circular and flat. I tend to steek at the armhole to keep consistent gauge. If I start knitting flat, I have to change to needles two sizes smaller. But sometimes flat makes a better garment. I hope you'll talk about the horns of this dilemma. Again, thank you for all the work you put into these podcasts. Big Thanks you for working while you were on holiday so none of us were deprived over Christmas.
Hi Kathryn. On the run right now, so just quickly - firstly, thank you for being a Patron and so letting us put out these shows. The point on the different gauge is interesting. That might be a good question for Jen Arnall-Culliford, creator of "A Year of Techniques".
Another beautiful produced podcast! Thank you so much Andrea and Andrew! I loved Isabell's segment! And your daughter did fantastic with her interview!
Your technique for weaving yarns in and out is brilliant and so easy. I've been utilizing it myself since I saw your how-to in another of your earlier videos. Did I mention it's brilliant?! Love the interview Madeline did with Hannah. Her colorway names for the Circus Tonic yarns are perfect and so lovely. Thank you for another excellent episode of Fruity Knitting.
Thank you SO MUCH for showing how to weave in the ends continental style! It makes it so much easier to follow when I can see it the way I knit. Your podcast is wonderful! You're inspiring me to take on stranded colorwork.
I adore Isabel Kraemer so much!! Her designs are incredible! She's such an adorable person as well!! I want to put her in my pocket and keep her safe..lol. She's got such cool style and it really shines through in her patterning.
Just became a Merino, woohoo! I've been watching this podcast from the beginning and am finally able to add support. Thank you for a wonderful show for all of us paying or not. It means a lot.
Thank you for the tutorial "weave in the thread", I practise it very often since then. (I review your podcast while knitting and healing my broken leg.)
thank you so very much for this episode , i have been sitting here trying to work out how to use my sock yarn for a sweater, not only do you show this designer who has done this for me , but then you show how to knit in the floats when joining new yarn which is also something that I needed to know , and I love that colour for your new sweater it is beautiful , I love the colours you chose for knitting for your self they always suit you to a tee , thank you once again for sharing with us xx best wishes
Thank you, Georgina. It's lovely to hear that you got something out of the show that you will be able to use in your projects. The Tegna by Caitlin is going to be beautiful! A + A.
So great to have you back after your well-deserved vacation! Great episode as always. Loved Madeleine’s interview! So cool that you have her as a new reporter for the show. Maybe we’ll see more of the Australian knitting scene in months to come? Thanks for doing the tutorial in continental style as well! I learned something new. Again. I’m happy and proud to be a patron of such a brilliant show.
Thanks, Milda. Madeleine is a good performer, and she did handle the interview beautifully (if we can say that ourselves...) And Isabell is so charming. It is such a privilege to work with these people.
What a beautiful vivacious woman. Isabell loved this interview. Her designs are just luscious. I am so late to the party but good seeing Madeline interview as well. For some reason I missed a few shows and this came up on my feed. Great as always.
I appreciate very much that your podcast besides bringing the most interesting themes, also offers practical instructions.Thank you very much for making my lknitting life easier with the weaving tutorial.I also live in Germany and therefore prefer to knit winter garments.I am looking foward to see the modifications you will do to the jumper. The episode was excellent as always and I imagine how proud you are about your adorable daughter.
So inspiring! I just loved seeing the tutorial for weaving in your ends .... going to switch right away to this method on my brioche blanket that I am using all my hand spun on.
Fabulous episode!! As a hobby designer, I found it fascinating to hear about Isabell's design process and her test knitters! I have some of my own favorite tester's, but never thought about how some might get use to my pattern writing and not catch those details that new testers would... interesting! I also love her casual style! Her patterns are very appealing to me.
I had only just found Isabell Kraemer on Ravelry (fell in LOVE with Indigo Frost--it's in the queue!) less than fortnight ago...so you can't imagine the thrill of seeing her interviewed on your spectacular podcast! You did not disappoint! Well done, Andrea & Andrew!!
I live Circus Tonic Yarn, great interview! The weaving in your ends tutorial was the best I have ever seen on this topic. You made it extremely clear; thank you for showing in continental as well.
Such a great episode! Andrew and Andrea, thank you so much for your work, watching your podcast and knitting at the same time is the best possible therapy for me :)) Always so informative and fun! p.s. Madeleine, awesome dress, all jealous :))) Looks splendid on you!
I have been stalking that beer hops (Hummulus?) sweater of hers for months now! I love Isabell Kraemer. It was really interesting to see video of her since I only know of her from Ravelry. She seems very nice and I love her style. Another great interview. Thanks!
Andrew never could let Andrea put her own figure down. I agree, Andrea is just gorgeous. But over the episodes, it‘s just so clear that Andrew loved his wife and especially her „curvaceous bottom“. Observing this made me laugh/cry out loud. Roving Reporter Madeleine did a great job interviewing Hannah, the lovely hand dyer. That was a great tutorial on weaving in the starts and stops of color changes, Andrea, thank you! Isabell Kraemer = what a quirky character! What a great interview, Andrea, you had great chemistry with her and I enjoyed getting to know her.
I LOOOVE Isabell Kraemer!!!! 🥰 The only problem you will have is narrowing down the choices of which patterns…You will want them all!! 😅 And YES!! She IS SO cool!!!💞
Thank you for the amazing technique of weaving in and weaving out ends. It's going to be a great help. Also I love how well coordinated you two are and how evidently in love.
This is an amazing episode, as always! Love seeing your personal projects, and love the interviews! Your method of weaving in ends is brilliant; I'm definitely going to use that as appropriate for a project.
She is my absolute favorite. I wish I was a better knitter (just beginning) so I could fly through her sweater patterns with ease. I have purchased MANY so I am working my way towards Isabell sweater knitting Nirvana!
The video on weaving in ends was SO helpful!!! Can I request a second one for when you switch colors during fair isle, since you will have 4 ends to weave in on that row? Your podcast is wonderful and I am so grateful for it.
I’ve just started my Lovage by Marie Wallin and was wondering about learning a new weaving-in-as-you-go technique!! It’s crazy that this came out right when I was needing it. Thank you, and awesome show as always!!
Hi I’m a new viewer and a newbie knitter (March 2020). This was a great video! I really love Isabell’s designs and I look forward to trying out her “on the beach” and “Driftwood” sweaters! Thx again!
Oh I just had a thought, I'd love for a small tutorial on how you end up blocking the tegna, Andrea. I'm currently knitting it and have no idea how to block a lace garment.
LOL, expensive episode - have just added five Isabell Kramer patterns to my ravelry cart! I'm super looking foward to trying those seamless set in sleeves in the Aileas cardi!
Your method of weaving in ends while knitting, is exactly the same method as "Philosopher's Wool" Ann and Eugene Burgeois are using to catch floats in stranded color work. Or am I wrong?
Andrea, I LOVED your tip about weaving in the different colors. That was excellent! Thank you! It seems to me that this technique would also work if you were just adding a new ball of the same color yarn. Would I be correct in my assumption??? Trish
Andrea and Andrew's projects always stunning and your interaction is charming! What size needles does Andrea use on most sweater projects? Definitely upscale fabric created and complicated patterns! Looked for Circus Tonic Handmade on Etsy but Hanna is taking a break...probably dying/packaging more yarn! So glad you are back after Christmas! I learned about Yew trees from this podcast. So interesting as are all segments of every podcast -- actually more like a magazine than merely knit/sew sharing. I love watching and only sorry that I cannot be a patreon right now.... You two are fabulous together and we're all watching Madeline's adventures and learning from you. Thank you!
Thanks, Nikki. That was so great, learning about the yew trees and then finding we had some just down the road. Thanks for watching, and keep trying with Hannah's yarns!
Could you release your tutorial for weaving in ends as a separate video so it's easier to search and find in the future? I know this is a technique I"ll want to use in future but I"m afraid I won't be able to find it again. Thank you Andrea!!
We do have this tutorial and all my other tutorials released separately and listed on our Patreon page for our Patrons. The work that goes into this podcast is way beyond a hobby, it is my full time work and the only way we can keep producing this content is with financial support from Patrons. This is one of the ways we express our gratitude to them.
Hi Daniel. That's the Firebirds, by Jade Starmore, although Andrea has done some modifications. If you go to fruityknitting.com and search for Firebirds, you'll find some discussion on it from earlier episodes. Cheers, A.
Great interview. I never heard of Isabell and love her Humulus AND her personality. In the US, many of our smaller yarn shops have closed due to online buying. I miss my local yarn shop. where I could peruse books and magazines from all over the world, as well as actually choosing yarn colors in person. I would have overlooked Marie Wallin after her transition away from Rowan. Question: you have worn your green short sleeve pullover with wide open neckline and lace detail. What is the name of that pattern and designer? Thanks. Suzann in upstate NY
If you go to the patreon site and click on the Posts tag, then click on the Patron Specials button on the left you will find the discount code. When you are buying one of Isabell's self published patterns on Ravelry you write the discount code in the coupon code box before checking out and paying.
For Isabell. I added this cardigan (sweater) you're wearing for the interview to my favorites in Ravelry. I see 4 languages but not English, although the description is in English. If/when I purchase it, will there be an english version?
I just found out about your podcast in MDK blog. Just loved it! I have a question: during the interview Isabell Kraemer mentions a male knitter that was inspiring to her but I couldn't quite understand his name. Would you please spell it out for me? Thank you and congratulations on your wonderful podcast!
The weaving in as you go tutorial 26 minutes in is so clear and such a gamechanger! Thank you so much for sharing with us!

I use one size larger for circular than for back and forth. Solves the "rowing out" problem of those of us with larger purls.
Another beautiful produced podcast! Thank you so much Andrea and Andrew! I loved Isabell's segment! And your daughter did fantastic with her interview!
Thanks, Nicola.

Amazing episode
What a great! podcast. Interviews, techniques, excellent techniques! Beautiful projects. thank you

Oh, you are just incredible with your modifications, Andrea. I'm in awe. And how sweet is Andrew - curvaceous, Darl...splendid...Oh I just love it!

excellent tutorial on weaving in as you go, thanks!
Great interviews thank you

I adore the candles that are almost essential in Northern European homes!
Your little clown friend seemed most eager to get in on the action! Very charming. Thanks for another great podcast.
Hi I’m a new viewer and a newbie knitter (March 2020). This was a great video! I really love Isabell’s designs and I look forward to trying out her “on the beach” and “Driftwood” sweaters! Thx again!

This is the year of the bird, they are beautiful
Your video quality is beautiful!!
Great information!
Yaaas, I have been eagerly waiting for this!
Your method of weaving in ends while knitting, is exactly the same method as "Philosopher's Wool" Ann and Eugene Burgeois are using to catch floats in stranded color work. Or am I wrong?
Thank you!
"Curvaceous...splendid." I like this guy! 😄👍🏽
What Faroe yarn did Isabell K use ? On last sweater .
Could you release your tutorial for weaving in ends as a separate video so it's easier to search and find in the future? I know this is a technique I"ll want to use in future but I"m afraid I won't be able to find it again. Thank you Andrea!!

Love your I. K. Spotlight. It’s nice to put a face and personality with the patter. I will take advantage of coupon.
Sitting at the airport waiting for a flight home - now I have entertainment :-)
Thanks for the adjustment math exercise Andrea. That stuff scares me, but like all you do on this vlog, you have made it seem possible!
I love your podcast. What’s the name of the pattern for the sweater Andrew is wearing? Thank you. Daniel
Hi Daniel. That's the Firebirds, by Jade Starmore, although Andrea has done some modifications. If you go to fruityknitting.com and search for Firebirds, you'll find some discussion on it from earlier episodes. Cheers, A.
Ditto to other comments although I must add I embrace the musical interludes as well.
Hi, Andrea. Do you have a project page on Ravelry? I was not able to find one. Great episode. thank you.
Bit behind on the Ravelry entries...
Thank you! Hugs & sunshine 🌞 N

I would like to get some of Isabell Kraemer patterns, and could not do it. Please help. Thank you, pilark❤️🇨🇴
How to purchase Isabell Kraemer's books? Is her books also in English or mostly in German?
Very enjoyable
I just found out about your podcast in MDK blog. Just loved it! I have a question: during the interview Isabell Kraemer mentions a male knitter that was inspiring to her but I couldn't quite understand his name. Would you please spell it out for me? Thank you and congratulations on your wonderful podcast!
