how did you figure out the dimensions of your oil pan i seen a picture of it on your Instagram and its pretty big also did u have to buy a new oil pick up?
Hey man, i just seized my DE (04 Z) and im seriously considering swapping to a Kseries i know someone who is willing to sell me a k24 motor to me complete with around 70k miles for $650 my question is how much more on top of the engine cost do you think it would be to complete the swap my budget is probably around 3.5k all in all for the swap plan on sticking NA for now and turbo in the future please give me advice also would love to get in contact about the motor mounts potentially aswell! Please let me know
I can’t comment on having a kswapped g without power steering, but I daily an 04 coupe 6 speed with a short belt and no power steering It’s drivable, it’s fine for going fast(as fast as a mostly stock g goes anyway), but if I was drifting it more I’d hook the power steering back up Low speed, like out of parking spaces or getting out of the driveway are annoying, but I prefer it at freeway speed to power steering Hope that gave you some perspective
Vq engines are actually pretty good, but k series is better, so i can resect it for that, but i wouldn't k Series it rather spend that money on upgrading the engine but k series is a better engine
But why? I feel like you can make more power with the original engine. The vq is a beast. Its a 6 cylinder 3.0 liter, isn't the k a 2.0 4 cylinder? Is it because it comes with a turbo? A cheaper way of having a turbo infiniti? Idk man. If i were to do a swap it would be an ls, 2jztt, or rb25dett.
have you been under a rock? vq makes 300 factory but that’s pushin it ontop of all the other issues. i own a 350 and a 9th gen si that has a k24z and it doesn’t even matter about owning it but everyone knows the honda engine not only lasts longer but can push more power reliably and stock. that’s why hoonigan, your neighbor, this guy in the video, and everyone’s grandma swaps k series honda engines into anything. people kswap or ls swap and that’s about it. idk where you’ve been. also the na version of the k series is the only one we really use then we add our own turbo to it. the turbo k series is trash my mom has one in a acura suv

K has a better bottom end higher revs and lighter a boosted makes more reliable horsepower than VQ
