My mistake, I just checked the FIS rules for single pole courses. Apparently, they are only partial single pole courses because double poles are used on delayed gates and flushes. Back in the day, all courses were set with double poles. I think the old way is less confusing and therefore better, but that's just me.

@@Triggerboy62 Freeze the frame at 0:26 and look at the gates. They all took the same path, probably following the forerunner's track.
