  • Mom guilt, or the feeling that you’re an inadequate parent who is not doing enough for your child, is everywhere. Mini Tandon, DO, a Washington University child and adolescent psychiatrist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, hears often from mothers who feel like they don’t measure up. She offers three tips on combating mom guilt.
    It’s a good idea to give yourself a break and recognize that you’re doing the best you can. Take some time to focus on self-care, because your well-being is important for your kids.
    Consider joining a mom group. Just make sure it’s a group that feels supportive.
    If you feel like your thoughts are starting to spiral and you can’t quite shake the mom guilt, it might be time to seek professional help.
