But as time goes on, buildings along with dreams get bigger, and there needs to be enough cash on hand to meet those changes. So enter the world of megaprojects. New York City spends billions and billions of dollars to bring people the latest and greatest structures and services and it seems that new projects are popping up every day. So join us for today’s video, where we look at the top 15 megaprojects in New York City!

Good thing we fixed our homelessness crises and poverty problems before doing all these mega projects. Oh wait never mind that was just wishful thinking. End the drug war end mass incarceration. We have trillions for bankers, war, huge corporations, and whatever the else the wealthy want, but act broke when giving the poor pennies. This country should be ashamed of how it treats it's poor. Oh and someone working 2 jobs shouldn't be homeless or living in their car which is also a thing in the richest country in the world. WTF!!!

While some of these projects are claimed to include "affordable" housing, will the city's service workers be able to live there? Manhattan rents have already driven out many of them to other boroughs or further away, and these glamorous new structures won't be cheap. I suspect that many of the smaller enterprises that make Manhattan a "happening" place will move away because their workers can't afford to live there anymore.

It terms of class, definitely manhattan will always be crazy expensive. Even affordable houses will be expensive. It's just that way everywhere. Particular areas have expensive everything, land, restaurants etc
I agree, we should segregate everyone... All poor people should just leave New York.. If you earn less than $200,000 a year you can get out... 👍
The way its being run now don't worry prices are going to drop and people will say keep it.

Hoaky Hochul cancelled our train. Now we are getting a bus. That is the best she could come up with. We could of had service fro LaG to JFK on the Airtrain but she choked. Just like she is doing with the immigrant influx.

You know those doomsday bunkers with projections of outside in them? Do that inside these skyscrapers and then cover the entire outer shell with solar panels. Could probably power all of New York with that. Just a thought.
“Mega projects” only make me wonder, with all of the flaws in nature, are people supposed migrate to the sites of said “mega projects,” & assume our position on the very bottom floors, as maintenance workers, & security guards “if we’re really lucky 🍀,” since all of that money, seems to be surrounded by poverty, in every city their building skyscrapers! #ModernEgyptianPyramids #Jinga
why do "architects" hate trees and earth so much? why "parks" is a huge paved field with three trees in holes in the asphalt? why should all the trees around the "new project" be cut down?!

Was so disappointed with the new trade center! That's the best they could do?
It’s a really good design in my opinion, not overly flashy but definitely timeless. It’s also important to remember that these are office buildings we’re looking at, they’re not just built for the public’s gaze. The tenants of the world trade centers have to approve on a design, and it would be hard to get all the office tenants in two world trade center to agree on something super flashy that could be viewed as a poor design in the future.
BABYLON WASTEFUL PROJECTS in EXPENSE of people's TAX and while homeless people housed in pig pen. Those financing them are UNFORGIVABLE. BUT, maybe Bronx Point IF and only is really affordable, only $200/month maintenance. IF those skyscrapers are not affordable; then have mercy on their souls! May they first give those to all homeless. I will wait for any affordable in Queens. We wish only for AFFORDABLE big 2 floors dome garden parking lots honeycomb for all DIY TINY HOMES here in Queens, NY.

No they just closed it above the first floor, so now it's essentially just a big hunk of metal in the middle of a square that you can just walk through on the first floor and take pictures in while looking up lol
If your college has an Island and Hotel.....you're probably paying waaayy too much!
