I'm a teacher. My wife is a teacher. Many of my teacher colleagues DO NOT agree with NEA. Please don't think that we (teachers) think like that! That was embarrassing, and the views of the NEA are what is killing public education. There is no "rigor" in public education, only lowered standards. Everyone passes even those who are illiterate.

How about we make a TV show or web show that pits home school versus public school kids of the same grade in the same area againstone a other in a academic competition. Ased on voluntary iq testing results. The show selects kids in the same grade same iq. Without showing the actual kids. The show is basically a coverage of their schooling, study habits, educators, social life and then goes over the questions in the test covering
Math
Science
US/World history
Geography
World culture and languages
The it covers the students answers and grades.
The hitch the testis grade appropriate for the educational level of a random top 10 World educational system.
If these teachers 'ain't going back' lets make sure we hold them to that standard we had for their results when we handed them a functional educational frame work with great and horrible results amongst them. And let's see if the home school kids are really getting the education the parents are suggesting they get.
After all we are all equal and we are performing on a global stage so surely we are competitive.

When I was in high-school, we were required to take a US government class AND a US history class. We learned about the amendments of our constitution. The responsibilities of each branch of government and their limitations. The rights of the states and why those rights exist. And so much more. We need to bring that back to our youth's curriculum. I'm living in a house whose previous occupant was a public schoolteacher, and she had a subscription to "NEA Today" which still arrives every month. Every issue has at least one photo and usually two or three pensees by Pringle. She's a clinical narcissist, at best. As I was scrolling through news feeds and happened upon "Screaming Tirade by Education Leader," that very instant I thought: Rebecca Pringle.

Considering the state of modern education, which is piss poor and void of any meaningful tools for entering the work force, it would behoove teachers to turn their attention away from the N.E.A. and begin to actually teach fundamentals like reading writing and arithmetic. Those who do do, those that can't do teach, those who can't teach are N.E.A. presidents.

I've put 5 kids through school, so believe me, I've had kids in there long enough to see the decline!! Public school sucks and people like this are the reason. Smh
