    But is put in such an easy way that you can't fail to understand what is being said.
    Also it's great to hear someone who is passionate about the THING he is talking about

    I moved to reaper one weak ago from pro tools after watching your video being tiered of the chrashes and limitations: I am completley blown away!! It contains exactly all the features I've always dreamed of exactly where they should be, it is so intuitive and quick to use. Not even mentioning the performance on a PC.. much faster reliable..and even their stock plugins are great, their cpu usage extreamley low. Even if it costed the same money as it's competitors I would go for it.

    Nice review. I use Reaper for mastering. I love its workflow. It's like Cockos thought of everything I could want in a DAW and more. It's ridiculously cheap whether you are an amateur or professional music maker. Just an amazing performance to value ratio.

      Just for the record, for professionals who make above $20k out of their audio/music business, it's not the same price though, it's $225 per user. It's still a steal considering you've got many years of upgrade included and how much productivity you gain out of it when you customize it.

    I've used Reaper extensively for 5-6 years. I recently went back onto Cubase Pro (10.5 at the moment) and the difference is as night and day. I don't raise Cubase above Reaper (how could anyone?) but it does seem to me that Cubase Pro gets the cigar on many features; timestretch, autotune, plugin efficiency... Reaper: Excellent. No doubt about it. But I still find Cubase Pro easier and - I think - more flexible. Just my taste.

  • @Rocker3829

    wondering when they'll make it a thing where we can use a midi controller to change VST presets without having to use midi automation (ex. using a midi commander to change presets in Bias FX 2 in Reaper). Currently, you can only set up specific effects on a signal change to be mapped to the midi commander (e.g. delay, reverb, etc...), but cannot do patch changes (ex. the entire preset in Bias FX 2, e.g. a clean tone with a completely different signal chain vs a metal tone with different head, cab, stomp boxes, etc...). I have yet to see a DAW anywhere do this, and it's really frustrating when you are trying to route from a DAW into OBS and record the steaming performance while being able to switch presets by manually clicking the mouse in the DAW.

    My reaper keeps crashing randomly. At first it look like it was a plugin misbehaving but then it happened with another plugin...and another one...and another one. Got to the point of just using stock plugins then it stared crashing at rendering. So frustrating. Deleted everything on library folder on my Mac ...everything . Fresh clean install it but still keeps crashing on me. Went back to Ableton live 10 which at this point havent crashed on me even tho im using the same plugins that Reaper crash report says was the issue. So you used Reaper 5 before without a problem? If so I don't understand why the issue you seem to have is such a big deal and you switch to Ableton? Then when the project is finished get some help from the great support of Cockos and their customers.

    Studio One has had parameter/graphic "miniview" integration in the console for all of its plugins for YEARS, and I can think of exactly ONE manufacturer that made their plugins compatible with it. It is not in their best interest, because it's a) not a universal experience, b) often not as convenient as one might think, c) work that will ultimately only benefit one subset of users, ignoring the massive amount of Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Live, and Cubase users that have never had such a feature. They won't do it.

    Reaper is useless if you use MIDI with hardware instruments. Stuck note all over the place, especially with older synths. Other DAWs I tested do not have this issue at all. I'm finished with Cockos. This issue goes back many years. They keep adding new features and never address this stuck notes problem when there are numerous threads about it on their forum.

    • @adamsteelproducer
      @adamsteelproducer  4 года назад

      Stuck notes in midi is not reaper specific, and is likely a problem with the midi computer interface you’re using. If you move away specifically because of this, I wish you luck but I don’t think you’ll see an improvement

      @@adamsteelproducer It's not my interface. I have two interfaces and I have tested with Reaper on OSX and Linux. It's the same and no other DAW does this. Even on an old synth like the DX7 which exhibits the problem severely but only with Reaper. Sadly, Cockos has not addressed this known problem while constantly adding new features so I'm moving to another DAW.

      @Nathaniel Walker I guess there's DAW for everyone out there. But if you can pinpoint specifically what is it that you think can greatly improve the UI/UX on the users' forum, perhaps someone can come up with a solution, or the developers might consider it and implement it for a future release. Frankly, I'd be curious to understand what exactly you want to see improved on the UI that the current theming cannot help solve.

    Instrument / FX windows and browser still living in the year 1998, no new development modern framework used, no new instruments or FX. This reskin doesn't cut it.... because of the for-mentioned crippling reasons, besides the poor design of it. You get more in a point update / .5 update of Studio One than you get in Reaper in 5 whole years., and you can upgrade for the cost of what it costs to buy Reaper at 50 odd quid..during black friday from any matching version, i.e Artist or Pro.
