So what are you using for your effective length factor (K) value? How do the various plate buckling coefficients (k) factor into this effective length factor (K) selection?

Please make a video on gusset plate stiffeners and orientation of that stiffeners, generation of truss effect in gusset plate by stifferners to prevent buckling of GP

Hi...in this what is K Value for gusset? Can we consider 2,.. due to one end fixed other end free?

Your very good teacher...I am really happy for subscribe your channel....incase of welding connection instead of bolt ,..Same 30 deg will apply?

So how are we going to find out the value of L? is it from the slenderness KL/r?

Very good presentation as always. Quick one if you have one column of bolt instead of two columns as shown in the presentation, do you still use Whitmore 30 degrees dispersion rule for the effective width? Or how do you determine the effective width with a connection for just one column of bolts?

Ha ha ha .. great observation Dear..I think 30 degree rule should work for that too.

@@TonmoyMaity hmm I am not so sure, because if you have just one bolt and even if you draw the load line to be directly at the Center of the member or section starting for the one bolt , so how do you determine where the line spread the 3o degrees should end for you to determine the effective width of the gusset?

@@olamideajala687 I really don't know or never thought in this way..I will investigate further into it. 🙏

@@TonmoyMaity Well you kept your promise and made an GREAT video on this topic! 😃Thank you very much sir!
I have one question on this topic. Welding the Gusset plate to an column...should this also be analyzed? Any rules on the welding part?
