It's amazing value. It's on road price is less than the ex showroom price of the seltos and creta. It is an amazing engine with amazing performance. It is an enthusiasts car. The drive quality is far better than any hyndai or kia. I'd definitely go for it

@@VaaniKiPathshala24 Who tells u all this bro ? Whomsoever did is trying to defame Nissan since now Nissan is trying to be aggressive in the Indian market. Nissan is the one of the most premium segment brands in the world. The only issue being they weren't so aggressive in the Indian market but their cars are top notch. They have very low maintenance & superior drive quality. Of course they dint focus on customer selective features like sun roof / auto voice control systems but those are only nice to have features. Most Indian consumers focus more on features than the car build/ drivability, comfort & maintenance.

After watching your review I purchased its Turbo XV premium model in feb 2021. I am very very happy for my decision
I did test rides of the Kicks XV Turbo CVT and the Creta SX IVT today. Both cars are good overall, but I must say that I liked the Kicks better. I agree with your comment that for a driving enthusiast, the Kicks drive quality is pretty good. Nice power and stable suspension drowning out the rough patches on the road effortlessly. The Creta has a wow factor with its interiors, which the Kicks lacks. However, ride quality of the Creta, while decent, is not as good. The engine whines when accelerated suddenly and the suspension is lighter and you get to feel the rough on the road a lot more. There is a significant price difference between the two as well as the long waiting time with the Creta, which makes the Kicks a very attractive proposition for the practical buyer.
Test drove it yesterday and I am fully impressed. 360° camera is a nice feature and I was able park at a tight place effortlessly.
It's suspension is very very composed and cornering is super easy at higher speeds. With added safety features you will feel a kind of safe driving experience.
I am generally a sedan guy and own a Swift Dzire. I have also driven Ciaz, Swift, Verna, City, Brezza but nothing compares to it's body quality. You will feel the toughness of the body as soon as you open the door. Boot lid as well as the engine hood is so heavy and we'll built.
Will all the safety features, superb quality interiors, larger space than Creta and Seltos and with ₹16.5 L of XV Premium (O) on road price in Hyderabad, I found it value for money. Similar specd Seltos and Creta costs almost ₹1.5-2 L more.

Finally old school hydraulic steering. Those electronic steering of cretas are such a fake thing. I think this Nissan is a kick ass product. Mercedes engine means reliable

the only thing to worry about kicks is it's not so friendly gearbox (anyone wud want to go for cvt instead of x v pre option after riding both) and hard steering in city which makes it a difficult to ride car in traffic and city..
No doubt that it's the best car for wider roads and highways as creta and seltos turbo engines are priced 2-3 lakhs more with same features..Also, if you go frequently off roading, then kicks is the car for you at around 15 lakhs price range

This car is fantastic value for enthusiasts and value seeking buyers. Not for those who seek premium feel and presence. Unfortunately, as always is the case, a good product in hands of company not doing well, it won't sell in numbers and the segment in which it is, it feels spartan and too simplistic to look at.

Which of these would be fun to drive? Also, will the 1.3 imported turbo engine expose one to future hefty maintenance/repair bills? Beingbased on the old duster platform, are there safety concerns - is it safer than ecosport? Thanks.
The Duster hasn't scored great in the Euro NCAP tests compared to the Ecosport. We can't comment about Safety. Both the cars are great to drive, but the Kicks is more of a GT cruiser than the Ecosport due to its Highway focused manners and heavy clutch. Ride quality is better on the Kicks. The new engine is a fairly reliable one on the Benz A class. So chances of issues are fairly low.

Good review but this is turbo petrol and you should review this car on open road, not in heavy city traffic...this is a performance-oriented engine and in your review, there is nothing related to performance.

Hi bro... very nice and informative review. I am seriously considering the kicks 1.3 turbo xv variant. I am not a fan of too many gadgets and gizmos. I just want a safe and fun to drive car with a nice suspension for comfortable ride. I will be using it for city rides and weekend getaways. How is the build quality and safety features of the car ? I hope I am making a good choice? My second pick is xuv 300 petrol. How does the build quality and safety features of the two cars match up? Whose rear seat is more comfortable for seating 3 persons for long drives? Out of kicks n xuv 300 which one would u recommend given the fact that price of xuv 300 has been slashed?
XUV 300 is a good car, but not so practical. It hugely compromises on boot space. The Kicks is great to drive, but you'll enjoy it only if you are ok with the heavy controls. Else try something between the Nexon and Ecosport.

Kishor Pandit in the price of kicks top model you will get creta and seltos naturally aspirated petrol engine and not turbo petrol , I drove it today it has better stability , agile handling and pickup is like no other I almost reached 100 in 3rd gear , kicks is now the most underrated cars in the country and performance still at par with seltos and creta turbo

Yet to drive the CVT. Yes it feels torquey than the 1.4GDI
Would suggest test-drive Venue 1.4 turbo petrol, Ecosports 1 5 diesal & Kicks 1.3 also check Rear Seat Comfort on the same day. Only than make your decision. Kicks is bigger in length but offers more Boot space than Cabin space.

Cvt has that inherent lag and though its well tuned it do not so justice to the sheer power it packs under the hood. Drive the manual and it will blow your mind. Thousand time better to drive than even a car like kushaq. Kushaq steering feel dead as hyundai and overall drivability is just okayish. This feels like driving an 20 odd lakh car.

Nexon is a segment lower in size and power. There is definitely the obvious power and refinement benefits for the extra price, but you have to compromise some extra features and ease of use you get on the Nexon. The Nexon is easily the best car in its category, and in some ways better than the Kicks too, if you ignore the Mercedes-Benz shared engine.

Hi preejesh, as usual nice review. I was looking for a 1.5 Ltr petrol review of the same car. I could find only one which I felt wasn't upto the mark. There are plenty about the diesel varient(old). Since my budget is 12 lakhs, I was contemplating on petrol 1.5 xv. What is your opinion on that engine and performance. Would you pick that one if you were in my shoes. Expect a honest opinion from you. An alternate suggestion is highly appreciated. 😊
Will try to review the 1.5 and update sir. Honestly you can take a look at other petrol compact SUVs sir. They are better feature loaded if you aren't prioritising on a bigger SUV with more boot space.

1.5 is good to drive. Great for coty commutes and occasional highway hauls. Ues its not that punchy as the 1.3 is but you cant term it as underpowered. It has good power at ots disposable and ride qualoty is just amazing man. It wallow eveey thing in its path. I mean you cant even feels pothholes bump or speed breakers

Very well presented. Brief yet covered all points. I own a Seltos D AT, but if CVT was available, Kicks would have been a far more reliable and value for money car for me because most of my driving is on highways.
Only slightly negative thing I observed in Kicks is that the rear seat has slightly less underthigh support. Not uncomfortable, but you have to sit all the way back and straight to feel good support.
By the way, which road is this in Coimbatore? Looks nice.

Leg room is more in this than creta because its wheel base is bigger by almost 84 mm
Hello! Could you please tell me how is the suspension feel and overall driving dynamics in comparison to New Creta and Seltos? I've driven Creta but not Seltos and wasn't very impressed with how the Creta handles bumps and potholes. Is kicks better ?
Seriously considering Kicks xv turbo.
I test drove all the three in the given chronological order Seltos-Creta-Kicks.
The kicks outperformed the other two by a mile.Excellent peppy engine,robust build quality, very good suspension and a very responsive steering.
Ceeta and seltos are not even its competitor . Test drive a hectir and then kick and you will agree that kicks rides much plaint than cars in a segmwnt above it

The Indian kicks isn't safety rated. 16 kmpl you can expect on highways if you're driving sedately.

All depends on driving habits. All the cars reviewed are new cars, without even first service completion. After first oil service, mileage will improve. Decide your requirements and choose wisely.
on highways, at driving about 100-120 kmph for 3 hours, it gave a mileage of 19 km/l and in city, it is giving around 13 km/l

Obviously you will get 14 if you drive like a maniac. A steady and light foot driving with no abrupt rpm jump can easily return 16 kmpl
But the gear nob it's looking like maruti, suzuki 800 car.

Both are solid crossovers. Kicks is petrol only. Top variant costs around 15L. Nexon even if you get top end petrol will cost around 13L only. Only 50L difference in boot space. However you get more power in Kicks. But mileage will be less. Nexon offers almost similar features with sunroof as well, but 120ps power. You have to decide what you need bro. If you love driving and don't care about mileage and features, Kicks is awesome. If you don't want to spend 2L more for additional power, Nexon is the best with more features too.
Take a test drive and decide for yourself. Consult your family

Rugged dusters underpinnings,contemporary Interiors and it looks more mean than Seltos and Creta.. There is no valid reason to ignore this.
Its high time Nissan's should accept that because of their poor portfolio & Sales no. is an indication Indians have rejected them. Hence they should have discontinued their 1 5 Petrol engine & replaced it with 1.3 Turbo without altering its price. Instead they are offering at same 1.5 diesal pricing which they have discontinued. Yes Kick is cheaper than Creata, but that's not a big deal as people do not have trust, faith & confidence to buy Nissan Kicks as they have poor Service Network.
Kicks 2019 failed miserably after the Launch with only 3,000 odd units Sold in a Year. With this Sales no I have my doubts of Nissan's Survival in India.
Revival with 1 3 Turbo Petrol only at this price & no Diesal would NOT make much of a difference.
I would rather buy sub 4 metre high end Diesal variant since it offers better Efficiency, almost same Rear Seat Comfort & torque than Kicks 1.3 Turbo Petrol at lesser cost.
