@@SinoLegionaire So what do you think about the Articles of Confederation; the founding document of the country? Way I see it; the Confederates embodied the founding principle of the country more so than the Union did. The Union favored the centralization of power in a Federal state, rather than a network of states cooperating under shared principles and interests. Something that most of the Founders, I would say, didn't want.
Edit: By the way, I served 5 years in the Army and bled for this countries God thrice damned forever wars; before you call me some kinda traitorous swine or such.

Slavery is immoral and you do not need a legally binding proclamation to tell you that. The law is a series of regulations for the orderly conduct of society, it should not be used as a moral compass.
