So for a bit of knowledge and if im not wrong: gohan stopped at ssj6 or 8 not because he stopped training but because ssj7 was only usable for goku and ssj9 was only obtained once zaiko/xicor gave his newfound power to goku and vegeta.
He probably stopped at ssj6 i should look again where did he stop.

@@coco2042 there are various but i usually refer to the original blogs. There were 2 stories: dbaf and the mystic saga.
In dbaf we have the regular story. Zaiko/xicor > kaarat > evil goku > angel z > kidnapped > cellbuuzer
The mystic saga is more elusive to me but if remember correctly there was a final enemy called takama beast. Also on this saga there are only forms until ssj mystic 5
