  • In this fifth episode I travel to the west coast of Scotland to take on the iconic Five Ferries Route. My version extends the traditional route on the Isle of Arran and the Isle of Bute to increase the overall distance to an imperial century.
    Here are the legs:
Ferry 1: Ardrossan to Brodick - Isle of Arran - 58km
Ferry 2: Lochranza to Claoniag - Kintyre Peninsula - 17.8km
Ferry 3: Tarbert to Portavdie - Cowal Peninsula - 31.3km
Ferry 4: Colintravie to Rhubodach - Isle of Bute - 32.1km
Ferry 5: Rothesay to Wymyss Bay - Mainland - 30.9km
The traditional route takes the eastern road on Arran with a distance of 24km and on the Isle of Bute it takes a direct route from Rhubodach to Rothesay. However, as I mentioned in the video, the modifications I made allowed me to experience more of the wonderful isles of Arran and Bute so it was well worth the effort.
