We will be talking with Dr. White on Zoom in June. If you would like to ask him any questions you can ask in the live chat or comments and we will ask him in June. You will also be able to join us live in June to ask him questions personally if you would like.
A question. With ruminants, do these plant microbes survive the digestive process? If yes, is their dung significant in cycling or translocation of these microbes in soil? Do rumen microbial flora change with changes in ingested plant microbes?
Yes, they can! Microbes and phytochemicals from the plants can change the microbiome in the gut. There has been a lot of work done with feeding animals sileage and microbe rich foods to increase overall health in the field.
