Wow talk about checking off the bucket list items. You all are very blessed to live your dreams. Be safe, have fun and thanks for sharing your journey.
Good video, I had to laugh at the end. I worked 6 years just north of there and some days would cross that circle a few times. My job requirements required a lot of windshield time. I wished I’d done more videos, but I have thousands of pictures many taken at the same place but different times of the year.
We havent watched much since we have been on the road for most of the past 12 months. I hope its not cancelled either. We do enjoy it when we watch it and I am sure we will enjoy it that much more now that we have driven on two portions that are regularly featured (the Dalton and in Northwest Territories in Fort Simpson.)
Cruising to Alaska 3 times on Princess is how we decided to make the drive. We took an excursion out of Skagway to Carcross in the Yukon and that is all it took for us to decide to drive up! It was and IS AMAZING!
It's me Nancy again. I want to gush a little....................these videos are amazing. Again thank you so much for taking the trouble to take the video and then publish it. My husband and I are loving them. And now we want to drive to Prudhoe Bay as opposed to take a small plane. You guys are so kind for allowing all of us to come along on your adventures. Please know there are lots of us fellow Rvers watching and hoping for more videos. We loved that you took the Arctic Plunge!! awesome. And now an impertinent question? how did you use the bathroom out in the middle of nowhere? I'm hoping that won't stop me from wanting to camp on the North Slope. Anyway thank you again.
Thanks for watching Nancy. To answer your questions... 1. bathrooms along the road were plentiful believe it or not. I only had to find a "bush" once when I just couldn't hold it any longer. But there are several campgrounds, rest areas, interpretive signs that all have pit toilets to use along the way. At Coldfoot we even had piped toilets which was nice. At our campsite there was a pit toilet a ways away from where we decided to place camp so there we just walked a little ways down from camp in a ravine and assumed the position. Men have it so much easier with going potty. But for #2 we all took turns at the pit toilet before we left camp every day. I personally would not let it stop you from camping on the North Slope... it just adds to the adventure. Just prepare for a LONG HOT shower when you return to Fairbanks.
The "Haul Road" is named after James Dalton, one of the first tool pushers in the discovery of oil at Prudhoe Bay. I worked for him for 2 years, a very fair but, also very tough, all 4'11" of him! We were drilling for natural gas for the City of Barrow.
I'm driving there from Kansas end of July and do you think a 97 Honda acord could make it with the road conditions? I've already drove to 48 states with my Honda. Only answer if you've been there
Thank for you sharing. So much memories of my trip in Alaska 4 years ago. I'll come back, for sure.....
What a small world!. I'm the guy at 9:24. I knew you guys looked familiar... That was a great trip. I made it all the way to Prudhoe Bay on that trip!
chich2000 that is so cool!!! Especially considering how little the Dalton is traveled! Thanks for letting us know we caught you on camera.

Being a Truck Driver, I always wanted to Truck the Dalton. You Guys have fun and Travel Safe
Man we give proper props to the Haul Road drivers. Its a long stretch of road with no one around except the crazy tourists like ourselves.
RJ's adventures my husband and I drove the Dalton Highway 2015 to Coldfoot. Great trip wonderful pictures
That is a great trip. My then SO and our 4 children traveled that route 19 years ago. Still got the stone chips and road dust in places. Best
Yes I dont think we will ever get rid of all the dirt and dust from the Dalton Highway. So worth it though. Thanks for watching!
Love Ice Road Truckers. Have been waiting for their new season and the start date keeps moving. I hope it isn't canceled!

I guess I am in the 1% group then. But I was not on vacation but working on the pipeline driving truck back in the day.
That is awesome hogcat! What an accomplishment! That pipeline is a world wonder for sure!
We missed you on the Dalton by a couple of days! we traveled it June 27-30th 2017. Check out my Alaska videos.
