Check out Cades Cove while you are in the area. They have primitive camping. Wednesday is a great day to ride your bike around the loop because it's not open to vehicles.
Would love to get your cookbook. By the time I knew it was available, they were gone. Have you thought about a pre-order system? Then you’ll have funds for a larger printing volume, know how to gage your order count, and totally get all your fans excited and waiting for their copy.
The road runs from Gatlinburg, TN thru the Smokies to Cherokee, NC. The middle being New found Gap where the TN/NC state line runs thru the parking lot. Usually you can see elk on the Ocunaluftee entrance on the Cherokee side. Cades cove is always good to see wildlife, we saw 3 bears, deer and turkey this past weekend.
Beautiful! I've always wanted to go to the Appalachian area, so now I can go with you! May i suggest to you to latch the pull up handle, the 1 to the left of your entry door, close it over the door? We do this with our trailer and we feel that it adds an extra layer of protection to keep the door closed. We are looking forward to this trip with you 2. Be safe, ENJOY!!
I watch a lot of youtube videos. Most I can see or not. Your videos are never missed. They are always interesting, beautiful scenery, amazing content. You guys are just fun to listen to explain what you have learned. You stop and show the waterfalls and the trees. You show details of like grocery shopping so interesting. Dont change a thing. I love your videos.
Kellie, Vitamin D3 can help lower back pains! Try that. 10000 iu's/day. Take with Vit K2, magnesium glycinate and about 15mg of zinc for better absorbtion. The K2 is to stop mild calcium buildup in circulatory system over time with the D3. Enjoyed the vid!! Love the Apps!
There's so much to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We were there a few weeks ago. Watch out for bears. They have been active. When we were there the hiking trails were closed due to bear activity.
One thing I suggest for you is that you turn the handle into the camper so that it is over your entrance door rather than to the side. Ive actually seen someone’s RV door open as they were riding down the hwy. That handle will keep that from happening. I do the same when traveling with my RV.
I know this comment section is a little old but I agree with this!! I love this channel and I love watching y’all together! The bond you two share is so nice to see and witness! Love and relationships nowadays are a joke; so it’s super refreshing: My parents took us to Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC and the door to the camper came flying open and actually broke from the force and we had to replace the whole door and get the dents and scrapes on the side of our 5th wheel fixed and repainted from where the door hit it. crazy crazy crazy 🙃 really wish dealership’s/sellers would warn their clients of incidents like these. We got lucky for lack of better words, it could’ve been so much worse!! Hope y’all are staying warm and staying SAFE! I pray for y’all every night in my night prayer journal to stay safe and healthy! So so so many evil predators out there 😰 and then there’s also bears, mountain lions, snakes etc. 😂😂 love you guys and have fun!! 🤍😮💨🤞🏽
We just got back from Gatlinburg, last Monday. We went down for my birthday as we do every year to see the colors from 11/4 to 11/7. This year the peak colors were 2nd and 3rd week of October. Last year everyone that came in October was disappointed. The peak was the first and second week of November, so it is hit and miss. We stay at Clabough’s RV park in Pigeon Forge on Wears Valley Rd (hwy 321) headed to Townsend, TN. Great video! We live in Louisville, KY so about 5 hrs to the Smokies!
While visiting in Virginia I became familiar with Kroger. I too luv Kroger. They had the nicest produce, assorted cheeses, beautiful flower arrangements and overall variety of products that I came to enjoy. 🌸
Ms. Kathy Bullmer, if this is your neck of the woods, do you know what happened to the Smoky Mtn. Overland Rally in Cosby, TN? They didn't hold their rally this year.
new sub, love your camper lifestyle. try walking every day, for your back pain. make yourself do at least 10,000 steps a day. even if you need to walk around your truck for an hour. during covid I walked around my living room couch for two hours every day lol walking is one of the best exercises you can do.
Welcome to Tennessee! I'm a little over a hour away from Gatlinburg. One week earlier and our trees were at peak colors. Just wanted you to know that it can be even prettier. Safe travels.
Omg you guys made it here!!! I’m so happy you get to see our beautiful mountains!! I haven’t watched this episode yet but I did peak at the beginning and just knew you were close to me. I can tell by the Forest. So awesome!! Love you guys!
Welcome to our neck of the woods! So happy for y'all! If y'all can, check out Old NC 105 in Linville Falls. Primitive sites all over the place along there. Gorgeous views. Pisgah National Forest. You two would love it. God bless and happy trails.
We were right there in late October. Camped for a week in Elkmont. Fall was georgous!...our RV is self contained so we had no issues not having facilities .
oh i just love the smokies, have been many, many times! So much to see and do! Hike up and see the Pinnicle the view will not disappoint! Go to Cherokee and go to the Indian village. Also, Cades Cove to see bears! The road north/south from Cherokee, stop and see the deer and elk!......Those coasters are fun!...........Make sure you hit up a cave too! Elkmount is a beautiful campground too!
I’ve been with you guys for awhile now. We live in AR also and I loved watching your camping around the state. But since you got your camper it’s like you have grabbed a new gear! Glad to see your happy and moving forward after all you went through! Glad your out and about! We hope to see you on the road!
So glad to see you traveling and camping in the Cherokee National Forest and Great Smokies. It looked like you might be on Hwys 441 and 64 some of the time: both take you to some beautiful scenery-some of the waterfalls, lakes and streams are beside the highways. I highly recommend travel through the Ocoee and Nantahala Gorges heading into North Carolina. The curving roads make you slow down and enjoy the journey. Happy travels.
Kellie, so sorry you are having back issues. Could have been brought on by the bouncing on the rough roads. Try riding with a gel cushion or doughnut pillow to alleviate pressure on your spine. ❤️
Love you two beautiful souls 💕I wish you all the best and love your travels! Feel better Kellie, I know how it feels; ... Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼... Cheers
If you are going to keep the truck camper (which I doubt you will) you should upgrade to a dually truck. The stability and safety aspect will make your travels much easier and safer.
I am going to make the soup from your cookbook this week. Yum! Love the new additions to the camper and I am so impressed with how well you pack. I am very much looking forward to your future travels and life in the truck camper. I am trying to decide between that or a small trailer my 4Runner can pull so your experiences and opinions are going to be so helpful to me! Thanks for sharing Kellie and Cody.
I received the Gourmet in the Forest cookbook yesterday. Love it!! FYI, I have watched your channel for sometime so I remember seeing you cook these wonderful dishes. I am searching the RUclips transcripts and when I find the video that showed you cooking the particular dish, I am writing the video name beside the recipe. Love your new mode of transportation!!!
I'm from Michigan now live in TN and go to the Great Smokey often: Laurel Falls is a good easy hike, go early. Cades Cove is a great place to see, hike ... there is a great alpine coaster in Gatlinburg. You all might like the sky bridge is cool in Gatlinburg
Love that area!!! The horseback riding at Smoke Mount campground is affordable and an amazing time if you have time it's a must! Y'all be safe and have fun.
If you want another cool, off the beaten path place to check out, it's near waynesville North Carolina. Cataloochee. I saw a mountain lion and a bear. Usually, only locals or people from the other side of the world show up here. It's very cool to walk the trails around there & see the old stone chimneys of the old cabins that once were inhabited. You guys will love Gatlinburg too 😊
I love Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg / Smokies area. As you noted, plenty of neat things to do and an assume transit system that is very reasonable. Enjoy your stay.😊
Hi! Guys! Love your videos and travels. I have not been in Tennessee where you drove through. I would love to explore the area! Happy trails and Bon Appetit! 😊❤ .
I just had to check to see if the cook books were sold out while I was watching your video and yes indeed, they were! 🤣 So glad I ordered one right away when your new shipment came in. I'm expecting it in about 3 days. Looks like you need to order more! Good job Kelly! 👏 Also, hoping your back is completely better by now. ❤️
We usually go to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg once a year and rent a cabin. Y’all must check out Cades Cove. It’s a must do! Lots of places to hike and they even have a campground. Have fun!🙂
Dollywood is awesome too in Pigeon Forge!! We lived about 45 minutes from there and got a season pass to come have fun with the kids! Cool place for adults too ! I LOVE that whole area 🥰
Love your videos, and your new camper. A suggestion: when I'm traveling, I fold my hand rail against my door. This way, if it happens not to latch properly, the hand rail keeps it from opening. Safe travels. Enjoy!
Love the soup! Does your awning work? That would be nice to have one out the back if you needed to cook while it rained. Such an amazing setup! I hope we get to see dome life on the side of your rig. I think it still works perfectly as there's a dome to the camper and a dome to your truck.
I have the same truck camper and love taking random trips to the Smokys. Gatlinburg is cool, but WAY too touristy there though. It looks like NYC on Saturdays.
Love the set up. Love what you have done. We have a 2022 8801. Few tips. Have the 11lb propane but keep in the cubby outside. Fits perfect and don’t have to worry about theft. The outside table fits under the mattress. We have two and it’s perfect. Put a magnet for all yr cooking knives behind the stove. Also added extra shelves in the pantry. Add a spice rack to inside of door for spices. I was surprised at the microwave removal! But that’s was a great install. One other suggestion upgrade the front sway bar to hellwig. Huge improvement! I have camped at Elkmont in a tent!! Nice campgrounds. I know we won’t find out till the next video but I hope you visited in the back of the Campgrounds The Elkmont ghost town resort! That’s a very interesting place!! Hope You’re feeling well soon Kellie!
Yoga helps so much. You always seem extra happy when you go somewhere you've never been before. Fun fact - for seniors a lifetime National Park pass is $80 and you can bring 1 person along with you, so for an elderly couple, perfect. Are you going to paint the rest of your cabinets to match the beautiful one you painted? Love you guys.
Hope you feel better. I'm so happy for you both with the new Home. Ps. I get your Cookbook today in mail. I'm so super excited. I can't wait to do some of your Recipes. Thank you so much. Love you guys. Makes my day with your adventures and Videos. Stay safe and Take a Easy on your back. Just a suggestion, My dad used to lay on floor and lightly pull both Legs (knees) to chest in a roll position and hold. Repeat couple times. Take care.❤ OH that Jungle boat ride is awesome, took my boys in 2008.
Kellie for your lower back problem you should buy yourself a TENS UNIT it will control and help you with the pain. I carry one with me when I travel in my RV. It sounds like it's your L4-5 S-1 disc area. (lower back) You can purchase a tens unit on ebay just make sure it's a good one. Also, you might want to purchase Inversion table when you get back home. Hope this will help you in your travels. Be safe guys.
Appa-latch-uh
Sincerely, an Appalachian.
Yes! I came here to say this ❤
OMGoodness!! I’ve missed the cookbook twice, now. I’m so glad they’re being scooped up, but come on people! Leave one for me! 😁😁😁
Flip your handrail over the door so if it ever pops open from flexing it stays closed.
Check out Cades Cove while you are in the area. They have primitive camping. Wednesday is a great day to ride your bike around the loop because it's not open to vehicles.
So glad to see you cooking outside again!

I'm in bed sick with the stomach flu so this couldn't have came at a better time you guys. Sorry your back hurts Kellie 😣, I'll pray for you. ❤️☺️💯❤️

Love you guys, lots of admiration for you getting out on the road at your young age... nice normal couple...❤️
Hope you guys continued on to Cherokee, NC , Maggie Valley and Asheville, NC while you were in the area.
Always a good day when dome life uploads a new video

As a life-long (62 years) Appalachian the correct pronunciation is apple-latcha......trust me on this.

I grew up next to the Cherokee national forest. Love this video. Stay wild friends!!!
Also I recommend lithium for battery’s and a dc to dc charger! With the driving you do you will always be full. These palominos are pre wired with solar set up but the dc to dc works amazing. Do you have a. Inverter? That’s great for cooking. Also I just installed a second max air! Will be looking for you on the east coast. We are up and down 75 all the time. Chattanooga has some amazing dispersed camping. Safe travels !

Smokey Mts so pretty!

Dollywood is in Pigeon forge. You know Dolly Parton famous country singer.
Food City is another great store to shop in while in Tennessee.
My son and I enjoy Suchi. It’s good.
That soup looks SO GOOD!
Kellie for your lower back problem you should buy yourself a TENS UNIT it will control and help you with the pain. I carry one with me when I travel in my RV.
It sounds like it's your L4-5 S-1 disc area. (lower back)
You can purchase a tens unit on ebay just make sure it's a good one.
Also, you might want to purchase Inversion table when you get back home.
Hope this will help you in your travels. Be safe guys.
