- Recently I was invited to Julian's house to meet up with our mutual friend, Koji Wada from Osaka, Japan that came to visit us hobbyist friends in the state side. While everyone had their phone out and snapping photos for their social media accounts, I figured I would do the same but take videos of this iconic tank to give you guys an update which I haven't done in few years.
Sit back and enjoy this simplistic yet gorgeous aquarium made by the godfather of our saltwater hobby.
Be sure to comment down below what was your favorite part of the video!
Happy Reefing!

Incredible system that somehow looks very natural (and beautiful). Thank you for sharing!
@InappropriateReefer hey Mokyi, you are very welcome, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the content! So..... when are you moving down? 😉
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing
@thirstyjay305 you are very welcome, bud.
Wow, it looks amazing. Much more negative space which is great but the colonies are still massive. Beautiful beautiful. Didn’t expect anything else but it really is genius and stunning!
@@ppsthlm I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
Hi Richard! This was a fantastic update. It’s really nice to see Julian using the GNC lights. My favorite part of the video is you pointing out everything Julian does differently. I really felt like I was there.
@tomimoto hey Tommy! It's funny because you were there on the last update, and we were talking about you over the weekend when discussing the footages.
@@Reefscom that put a huge smile on my face!!
Would love to see the pond too, Great video
@@glub9075 thank you! The pond is gone at the moment (renovating) but as soon as it gets back up, I will let you guys know!
tank is incredible and Julian is such a great guy, had many great talks with him over the years :)
@@CoralMan24 I agree! He really is.
Thanks for sharing Richard. I enjoy watching updates of Julians tank. Although Julian is an experienced aquarist it shows simplicity works without all the bells and whistles. I am partial to gorgonians myself. Often overlooked. I also like blue ridge coral and many of the old school corals from the past. I think its easy to get caught up in trends and what is popular to keep, however, you can’t beat the old school corals. Thanks for sharing.
@@gsander4837 you are very welcome! Yea, old corals are pretty amazing and can be purchased for pretty cheap now. Honestly, it's refreshing to see a tank like this every once in a while and to see someone like Julian doing this, inspires me to do better. :)
@@Reefscom I totally agree. My first marine tank was in 1978 and been in the hobby since early reefing, so It’s inspiring to see such a tank.
Love that Emperor Angel in his reef tank! ❤️
@@tleekauai right? I remember him getting that years ago as a tiny, little one.
Julian is the Best! I'm fortunate enough to have met him a few times now, and got to spend some time with him. He also has the best salt on the market!!!
@@BigBlueReefAquatics agreed on all accounts!
My favorite reef tank of all time
@@Sylvania-Frenchies it's one of my all time favorites as well!
@@Reefscom it’s really nice to see that he really hasn’t changed his style and choices of coral 🪸. If you’re able to you should do San jay yoshi and Michael Paletta reef 🪸
@@Sylvania-Frenchies when I'm near their houses and with their blessings, absolutely! ☺️ They are on my list.
@@Reefscom can’t wait bro love your content and interviewing skills. keep up the great work. I’m setting up another reef 🪸 project maybe one day you can check mine out
@@Sylvania-Frenchies thank you for the kind words! Upload some work so we can check it out! :)
Richard you look like you’re going to a Miami Vice party. Man, I love your content. Would love to see it more often. Thank you!
@@jtdr2023 haha love the Miami vice comment! I had a business meeting prior to this and came straight after. My health is back to where it's supposed to be so I will be pumping out more contents regularly. 😁 Thank you for checking out this video and for your kind words.
@@Reefscom I'm glad your feeling better and hope it was nothing too serious. Thanks again!!
@@jtdr2023 thank you for the kind words. :)
Love checking out his tanks. ❤

@@Reefscom Thank you.
Do you have Julian’s ICP results? Where does he keep his Nitrates and phosphates, his alkalinity, calcium, magnesium?
No, I do not. sorry. You can reach out to him on julian@twolittlefishies.com. he will be happy to answer your questions.
What is the size of the tank?
@@dg903 it's 200 something. He says he doesn't remember.
great tank looks way to dark halfway down tho
Some scenes are when his light was turning off because it was late at night. I didn't want to bother him and the guests so I shot what was available to me at the time.
