Every year at this time I lime fertilize and plant and then get no rain so I'm replanting. I decided this year to disc my fields Lime and fertilize and disc again. They're ready for seed but I'm waiting for a rain event. Still nothing in the forecast. If I put the seed in now, what does germinate would burn up in this heat and the turkeys and other birds have a field day on any exposed seed. Not sure how my plots will turn out this year but I'm giving this plan a shot this year. Looking good Don, stay healthy!

Yep planting fall annuals can be a real pain with NO RAIN thsts why
I plant soybeans an corn in the spring they have a longer time to mature
And clover is always a year round food source .

I relate to your giving back to the Whitetail and other critters.
And I appreciate your do it right philosophy.

Planting foodplots aren't necessary to take a Deer ,but they can draw in
Other WILDLIFE that you may not of had a opportunity to see.

Always like your prep videos don. One question tho why don't you invest in a pto driven cultivator it would help with so many trips up and down the field and probably save you some on diesel fuel for your tractor and you don't seem to have alot of rocks in your fields either

BECAUSE in the fall the ground is to hard alot of the time an pto cultivar or
rototiller wouldn't go deep enough .I PROVED that to the Clive city council
the rototiller kept KICKING out of gear an you can only move like a SNELL SPEED .Thanks for your viewing an comments I

Any recommendations on what to plant in the existing clover plot? We are in the middle of a drought in MO, so should I wait to plant until rain is in the forecast? The clover plot sits in the middle of the woods next to ag fields.

Would Ya'll Recommend That We Go Ahead and Plant Now? I live In Northern Texas. Planning On Wheat and Clover, But I Don't Really See Any Rain In the Forcast. I Was Planning For Around the Beginning of September. Still Hot as Hell Here lol

You got plenty of time to plant just remember NO RAIN NO GRAIN the
clover will still be around next year also

Your in Texas wait the wheat like cooler temperatures, the clover likes cooler weather too. ArrowLeaf is a good choice for Texas, wish we could grow it here.
