I love the tempo you can really feel the energy! I feel like a lot of productions play the tempos too slow
I did this show off Broadway a few years ago. I played the Scarecrow
Where was the show? What theatre?
Oberia Dempsey Theatre
@@tpettaway nice! Congrats!
This is so much better than the movie version and I can't even see the dancing
me either
Um no
Yes it definitely is ☺️
Anyone who saw the original Broadway production cannot stomach the movie version. It was a tragic mistake! The stage production is superior on every level!!
Luther Vandross wrote this
The reason why you can’t see it is because it’s honestly not many clips from the original production so people just use what they have
I actually saw a road tour revival of the show in the 80's at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, which featured Stephanie Mills and Ted Ross from the original cast. Oddly enough, Mills at that time was too damn old to be playing Dorothy (same criticism leveled at Diana Ross).
@@dreamquesttv was that some time during the 1984 revival.
@@dreamquesttv I don’t think Stephanie received much criticism from it being that she 1. Had originated the role so people thought oh that makes sense and she fit the role so well with her height and EXTRAORDINARY voice.
what did did she say what out the scarecrow tinman
She wishes they were here
@@stephaniemills_fanpage OH when she killed the witch
1:41 dance break
2:22 someone does an Oz revue, they should do something to put a little Schwartz in it … the “bow, bow…” section from We Beseech Thee and into “In harmony…”
