Interesting story to share. I've grown up in NE Ohio for 25 years and never heard of Raising Cane's my entire life. I have never heard of this at all and didn't end up going because I couldn't justify spending money on just chicken fingers, some fries, and a piece of garlic bread. My Fiancé at the time who also moved down with me kept getting told about how we had to try this place and raving on about good it was by her coworkers. We both finally tried it and oh my goodness.... I ended up moving back home to NE Ohio and we didn't have a Raising Canes here at the time. Whenever I spoke about my time in KY, I would always reference this chicken joint we had down there. We ended getting one south of Cleveland but it still a solid 40min drive away and I would tell people about good it was and if they were heading down that way to stop there and give a try. Over time, I would get people telling me they were driving 30+ minutes away JUST to go to Raising Canes and how worth it was. A year or so later (during the COVID time) and we finally got a Raising Canes opened up here in town. The week or so it opened, I remember coming down the road and seeing traffic blocked forever.... I thought it was an accident on the road, but nope, just a line of cars sitting in traffic just to get into the new Raising Canes on our busy street. I have since (been trying to) cut fast food from my diet in my older age, so I haven't been to our new establishment, but I always tell people to try it and I always see my coworkers ordering it and there is almost always a line in our main street trying to get to the drive through. If anyone has not had the pleasure of eating at a Raising Canes, 10/10 would recommend. It really is a other world compared to how drastically KFC has fallen in years. I don't even eat there and would recommend that over any other fast food joint in the area.

There are so many business professors that have never ran a successful business. For the amount that you spend to go to college, you could start a business and get some real experience.
Most people don’t want the headache or risk that comes with owning a business or working a trade job. Most people who graduate college are in less than 50k debt. Getting a degree is necessary to work in corporate America so that’s what they do
My 1st experience was in Denver. It reminds me of exactly what Zaxbys is! A massive Atlanta based "Chicken Finger King" RC just recently broke into the Atlanta market. Good luck
I wish everyone could try the original Raising Cane’s. I’m from Louisiana and know how good the original chicken fingers were. Canes has went down the drain and their chicken fingers are more like chicken nuggets. The quality has tanked (tiny chicken, tons of gristle, bread not cooked, etc). Todd Graves turned his back on what made him who he is today and the people who know what Cane’s used to be don’t want his chicken nuggets.
Probably the only thing true about any of this BS story is that his dogs name was Cane. His dad rented the first restaurant that 8s still a Raising Canes, and it absolutely wasn't a run down warehouse. The area where it is located is extremely expensive property right in front of LSU's north gates, and it has never sat vacant for more than a week because it's a highly sought after location. This dude is only good at making up BS for a feel good story. The chicken originally was very good and cheap, but now it's mediocre and overpriced for what it is
Isn't ironic that their huge part of success is to treat employees well, and they are the exception! I wish the - by average - narcissistic business owners know this.
Wow this guy is really awesome, best entrepreneur stories I’ve heard. He truly worked hard and deserves all the success he gets. Makes me want some canes haha
Every time I go to a Raising Caine's tree employees seem happier than Chick-fil-a employees. To many employers don't realize that when you take care of your employees, your employees will take care of your business and it will run itself.

Love these videos. I listen about 3 to 4 a day while I work. This gives me time figure how to act my goals and so much things to learn and very fun.
I think him being so positive helped too, cause he didn't take the 30 dollar profit as a bad thing, I really like that.
Thank God this story is one of the ultra positive...karma really pays off when done positively 😇😇😇
I love this story, I feel like it's more current as opposed to the rest
*This is a prime example of how a CEO/Owner should act and lead. Imagine the impact he had on those directly under him.*
How BLAND chicken tenders made him a millionaire.
It’s nothing without the sauce. Bland is a compliment. I’ve had water with more flavor😂
@@peckishpagan I would love to try some of your water on my tongue 🤤
I’m an LSU student and frequent the first ever Cane’s at least once a week since it’s right by campus. Still stays open till 3:30 am!
What a wholesome story
I loved working for canes, and I met the man. Real charming guy
If only saving money was possible nowadays. But these days all your money gets eaten by rent, food, and gas
Go work in the oilfields you will save money
@@podcasthostel I value my life and health so nah
@@akihikosakurai4013 this guy literally saved money by working on the alaskan fishing boats which is probably even more dangerous and hard work
@@podcasthostel how?
There are so many business professors that have never ran a successful business. For the amount that you spend to go to college, you could start a business and get some real experience.
Most people don’t want the headache or risk that comes with owning a business or working a trade job. Most people who graduate college are in less than 50k debt. Getting a degree is necessary to work in corporate America so that’s what they do
Well done Todd on being the not worst capitalist
Being born and raised in Baton Rouge now living in Atlanta it’s cray cray to see how much this business expanded
*And that my friend is how Todd became Gustavo Fring.*
Great video, I love the fact that he never let others tell him his idea was crap.
@1:00 that’s how In-n-out became so successful.
Didn’t realize they talk about in n out later lol
My 1st experience was in Denver. It reminds me of exactly what Zaxbys is! A massive Atlanta based "Chicken Finger King"
RC just recently broke into the Atlanta market. Good luck
I prefer canes over Zaxby’s. Just based on the sauce.
I believe Zaxbys and Canes were both influenced by a place called Guthrie's. I like Canes, but Guthrie's is top-tier.
People don’t really understand how hard being a boilermaker is. Money is good in construction.
Video Idea: The Rise and Fall of Harshad Mehta : Scam 1992
Really good True story
There is also a TV series about this in India
My favourite channel on RUclips
I lived in the middle east which is where I found out about raising canes. Needless to say, I was blown away. Loved it ever since
I wish everyone could try the original Raising Cane’s.
Cane's chicken fingers are half the size they was when they opened. Maybe smaller
I once drove 8 hours to get to the closest canes. Worth it every time. Now I live 5 mins from one.
Wow Tod you worked very very hard that job is not easy omg. Congrats!
The chicken originally was very good and cheap, but now it's mediocre and overpriced for what it is
I've met Todd, he's an extremely passionate and good person!
I like how in a lot of these videos the business professor tells their student it was a bad idea
Every time I go to a Raising Caine's tree employees seem happier than Chick-fil-a employees. To many employers don't realize that when you take care of your employees, your employees will take care of your business and it will run itself.
Competitor to KFC... I admit I laughed at that. Raising Canes is what KFC should be but isn't even close.
O lord I hope kfc never stops putting seasoning on their food
The true definition of “Fuck it, I’ll do it myself.”
Since we’re away from major companies now maybe white castle wouldn’t be a bad idea
Love the chicken, love the lemonade and love the Texas toast. Now that I have heard the back story I love the company even more!
As a Boilermaker of 25years. I've never fixed a Boiler
Amen
Secret sauce? Lol. Canes sauce is just an unseasoned crawfish dip. Every south Louisiana person ever knows how to make it
🧢
The fact that every Raising Canes drive thru line here in St.Louis is always packed , I’d say it was a great idea.
Love your work. Slick presentation.
This makes me love this company even more!
The sauce made this restaurant relevant
I remember when the 3 piece was 5.00 😩 what a time to remember. People in Baton Rouge remember
yet minimum wage was lower
Raising Caine’s is the best fast food chain out there.
