Now I've learned my lesson and I have a few event vehicle coupons sitting unreedemed, waiting for them to be worth enough so I can sell them and not have to purchase premium with my own money for a loooong time.

CoH2 OST is such good choice for a video. Playing IS-7 feels like "raw dogging the flight" thing on the internet. You are as good as conventional WWII Era tank can get, but your opponent have things like STABs, Laser RFs, HEAT-FS or APDS, or even APFSDS, ERA, commanders sight's, mobility, faster reload rate, better ballistics, better turret traverse and gun elevation speed, etc etc.
Yeah, first words that came to mind were "a tank out of time", not unlike the Maus. As good as the old design ways could get, fighting against the new era (dart/heatfs) Definitely an interesting experience.

Although this is more directed at what is seemingly two different coders for tanks as you have one that makes tanks turn instantly and is very arcadey, like the tank has no momentum or inertia, and you have the other guy who understands physics and models tanks properly. See Leo 2A7V vs 2A6/2A5.
Most Soviet heavys are like that , this Obj.279 with 4 tracks traverses faster than a light tank . 😅 I once shot a track off an IS3 and wanted to circle around him , but this dude was faster with one track than I with two .

i have only encountered an IS-7 once and it was while i was in a bradley. i hit it with both of my TOWs, one in the UFP and one in the turret front, and after both non-penned i just turned tail and ran
During the event does anyone remember the bs part where you had to make the external tools like the saw, smoke bins, gun cradle and mud flaps instead on just earning the tank as it was after grinding it 3 times to get the T-34E, IS-7 hull and tracks then the IS-7 turret and guns
When this event came out I was only able to get the T-34E. Despite this tank having 99% more of the hype, I still love that T-34 because it’s mine and mine alone, and it holds so much more charm
Fun fact, Swedish low ranks are goofy. BT-42 for example is a light tank at 1.7 with a 114 mm howizer + great mobility (apart from turret traverse) . BT-42's HEAT Ammo can easily penetrate many tanks even at rank IV. I tested it on the whole IS family using protection analysis (200m, shooting cupola or front of the turret) here's the results: IS-1 3/3 Overpressure, IS-2 3/3 Overpressure, IS-3 (Shooting under the cannon, no cupola) 3/3 Overpressure, IS-4M (Shooting under the cannon, no cupola) 0/3 Penetration. IS-3 and 4M are both rank V, my statement is accurate. Ps, im both telling this to spark a conversation but also maybe Zenturion will look at said tank. Everyone have a great day!
I have had it since the operation suffer event 2016 and I must say, the IS-7 is a very good tank, although the armour oftentimes won't safe you, especially when uptiered, and the most obnoxious is the reload time for the ammo replenishment. I do still love it, not worth the money, but I luckily didn't have to spend money on it

I wish the 279 was still this playable. Instead you get to fight 10.0’s with 400+ apfsds, laser range finders, thermal vision, ATGM, etc and here you are with plain green night vision, no range finder, no therms, no smoke to avoid therms, and good old fashioned apcbc ammo. I wish gayjin didn’t have a raging hard on for screwing heavy tanks.
@@KekusMagnus it doesn’t have a laser range finder, when when you have apcbc shells fighting enemies with laser rangefinders and apfsds or even plain heatfs it’s a huge disadvantage if you both see each other at the same time.

It was better when it got released since it had less BR and there were less vehicles in the game. But the matchmaking was also filled with IS-7s so you couldn't really play Nowadays, it's ok. I still think 130mm should hit even harder than it does. But I guess it doesn't have that much filler What I dislike about the vehicle it's that is so cramped it's easy to hit ammo unless you carry very few rounds, and you get your breech damaged too often, the armor isn't worth anything when you play against a swarm of Turm III, really disgusting
It's funny to me how people nowadays would pay a ton of money to get an IS-7, and I wouldn't even do the crafting event ever again. In fact, I haven't done any other crafting event since then, and I heard they've become much worse

More powerful engine and transmission, at the cost of expensive and difficult to maintenance T-series engine and transmission is so simple that anyone who has basic knowledge of mechanics is enough to fix and maintenance, also very light which only needs a small crane to lift its engine part
Build in 1947 and it is in a higher BR than the Leopard 1 build in 1964. People that complain about the IS7 are complaining that a 17 year old vehicle is in the same/slightly lower BR as them And its in the same Br as the VIDAR that is from 1999 XD

Only the Max speed of 60kph wasn't achieved it only did 50. The IS7 isn't imaginary or a concept, it is a existing vehicle that never entered service because heavy tanks were rendered useless after the introduction of HEAT FS rounds. This lead to the Soviets cancelling nearly all Heavy tank projects. Another reason is that the T10 was more promising and much cheaper. If the Soviets didn't enforce their quantity over quality doctrine as hard as they did the IS7 would have been used

They enforced a weight and cost limit the IS7 exceed heavily. The IS7 itself is a good vehicle but it's cost was too high for the Soviet Doctrine

It does have a rangefinder though, it's all it really needs. It's out of its element when uptiered but still very a very competent vehicle

To be honest , this tank is an unrealistic fake vehicle . With armour like a Maus and maneuverability like a M18 , irl this tank failed in every way .
