VE Day in Braunton

VE Day in Braunton. This footage was discovered in Braunton Museum archives at the beginning of the year while we were researching an ongoing project. Maybe someone recognises themselves or somebody if so please contact us or the museum direct. Who is the 'Joslin' that filmed it does anyone know? There must be plenty of footage like this in archives all over the country, have a dig around if you can do so safely during this corona virus lockdown.

My father came her to train for D-Day, met and married my mother here, in the Methodist chapel, January 1944. I have little doubt she's somewhere in the crowd, celebrating. She left for America in June 1945.
