Hi everyone! Welcome back to another video, this time featuring "Sparkle" from Your Name/ Kimi no Na Wa!
First off, I'm extremely sorry for the lack of videos in the past month. I had to focus on my mid-terms and my studies haha. But with that out of the way temporarily, I can upload (a bit) more frequently now :)
Also, I do apologize for the lack of video quality, I completely forgot to turn my ring light on while recording ._.
About the arrangement (Practice: 3 hours):
I actually uploaded Sparkle 2 years ago on my Instagram and it was Theishter's version. But after listening it to a couple of time, there were some parts where it sounded a bit "bland" to me, and thus I incorporated some parts with Animenz's version.
0:01 - 0:32 The intro part was something I thought about a lot, the repetitive 'B C# F#' would sound a bit bland for 16 bars, and thus I used Animenz's version of playing the higher octave 'B' note to make it sound "starry".
0:33 - 1:05 The LH melody took some time to practice as the RH still keeps on repeating the 'B C# F#' sequence, but glad it turned out fine at last :D
1:22 - 1:53 This part is actually one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES in all the arrangements. "Talking abt the sequence thing again ;_; " But yeah, the sequence continues even when the base notes are played or when the RH is playing the melody. The smooth transitions of both hands are CLEAN in Theishter's video and I also tried my best not to clunk those parts.
4:08 - 4:44 The original part in Theishter's arrangement sounded quite bland with only the RH playing, and therefore replaced it with Animenz's version, where the melody repeats itself when either hand has finished playing, and creates the sequence of where the LH and RH can represent the bridge part more starrily.
And that mostly it about the arrangement! Those RH scales towards the end are insane lmao. Well, still hope you guys enjoyed it!

haha thx Sayuri! This vst certainly has its differences with garritan, but does present that starry feeling for Sparkle hahaha. But its absolutely correct, its extremely refreshing to listen to a different vst once in a while, perhaps Ill use more variations of vsts in the future :D

This movie, the art, the story, and the music. They were all amazing, it kinda hit a chord with me and what I've been through recently. Your performance was beautiful, it kinda reminded me of all those things from when I watched the movie, thank you. Again, your performance was beautiful.

That was fantastic! I love how you played the finale starting at 4:58 and the fast runs at the very end were so clean. I’ll never get tired of this soundtrack

haha thx Yeh! Actually from planning it to practicing to recording, it took roughly 7 hours which was quite fast lmao. I had quite a general idea already on how to fuse both covers together before I even started planning it, so it didn't take too long haha. Glad you enjoyed it :D
