Back in the mid 1980's I used to make these photo albums and give them as gifts. Love seeing this crafting project come back. It was a good way to use up fabric left over from quilting.
These are how I started scrapping in the 80’s as a teen. Made quite a few but I used the fluffy batting and stuffed the inside too. Glad to see people are still doing them.
I used to make them for friends and family in the 1970s. I do not know where they are, as the ones I saved are in boxes at my daughters. I am in board and care now and sure kiss crafting. Have fun
I am helping pack my sisters house as she is moving and found one of these albums made in 1988. I was amazed by it… also I made something similar for my parents 25th wedding anniversary years ago… so I’m buying three albums… on for me and two as Christmas presents..one being for my 96 yr old mother in law….
How fun. I remember doing those covered photo albums. A blast from the past. Love the much better albums from today instead of the spiral bound old ones.
I have a wedding album done this way, my BFF made it for me when I got married back in the early 90's. I've never personally made one, so I'm enjoying watching this come together as I think I'd might like to give it a try. Yours is looking amazing so far Maymay!
What a blast from the past! I still have an album that I made while I was Senior Regent in the Women of the Moose in the early 90's. When I saw you making yours, I pulled it out to look at the pictures again. Lots of pictures of folks are in it that have passed away.
Just like with the underside of a paper creation, or the back side of a stitchery piece, so is this fabric creation. No one will ever know what’s under there😊. I also like the idea of decorative paper covering the inside panels. Nostalgia for sure! Love it so far!
Oh my goodness. My Mother in Law taught me to do these in the 80s. Have a wedding one and one for each of my kids. I need to make these for my grands! Great Job Maymay
This is taking me back! All sorts of great memories. My mom made me an album like this with the fabric from my wedding dress that my grandmother made me. I messed it up trying to write out names in it before I really knew that fabric and sharpie don’t mix! 🤦♀️ This is making me want to get that back out and see what I can do with it.
Someone in my family made my grandma one of these albums. I have no idea where it ended up but wonderful memories. Thank you Maymay for “bringing it back!”
My mom made one of those for me but mine was for recipes from everywhere and from my Nana, haven't had it for a long time. It was lost, then my mom made one for my baby sister, so cute 🥰

I never thought this would work, but it did! I’m impressed! I enjoyed watching.
Made so many of these in the early 90's. Might have to do your updated version.

I made a few of these in the past too. I really like the ric-rac trim on this new one.
I made several of these 1989 to early 1990s. I’ve seen them at Goodwill as well. Really brought back memories!
