This is the first video I've watched so, at the moment, the painting is my favourite bit of the build. I'll need to start binge-watching earlier episodes but I love that paint; this beast is going to be unique and very, very visible. 😁👍 Cheers for now, from Scotland, Dougie.
Nice job... my favourite part would be all the rust repairs the level of detail you have gone to was so fascinating to watch. I can't wait to see the end product.
Brilliant Sam. You should give yourself a pat on the back. I am doing an 81 WB at the moment and was debating what paint to use. It will definitely be DNA. Thanks again. My favourite part is the shaved gutters and the grill that you restored. Stay Safe mate. 🌈
Good on you for having a crack at the paint yourself. I reckon laying the first coat of colour on is the best feeling when building a car, thats when it all starts coming together. The yellow vortex is going to look sweet with your body lines.
WOW.... That colour pops. Excellent job on laying it down yourself mate. Well done. I love the episode's watching you sort the front suspension out. I loved the look of the bumpers being cut and shut and how they now sit in. Looks awesome. The entire build has been great to follow. Love ya work
Favourite part is getting inspired to go out and tackle my hq restoration. Iv been a bit hesitated in doing the rust repairs, but after watch whole play list in 3 days, i think I can handle it lol. Cheers Sam for the great videos 👍
I reckon my favourite thing about the series is watching the rust repairs. Have been needing to do the same on my hz 1 tonner but have had no motivation. Watching the build has definitely been encouraging me to get started on the painful parts of my project. The paint was definitely the right choice mate!
Awesome job mate 👍. Favourite part would be watching you tackle all this in a shed in the back yard. Goes to show you don’t need a flash workshop with spray booths and everything. Well done.
Love the whole build mate! , my favourite part is your eye for detail doing the whole job right the little things that only you would be able to pick you make sure you perfect them so it does not hurt your conscience!
I've seen people making videos on that gun all month, but that shot in the carport of the guards really does show the smoothness as well as the contrast of the paint colour in the shade/sun
Fav part of the build so far has definitely been the chassis set up, was awesome to see it get freshened up with paint and then all the mods and ideas come to life on it
Cowl induction hood build. I searched for a build on this subject and your video was the best and was hooked watching your build since. Congrats on 5K.
That colour really pops! Shaved door handles are my favourite part - so much thought and planning to pull it off, love that you stuck it out and made it work!
Love the colour mate and am suprised that your finish has turned out as good as it has with your level of spray painting experience. My favourite part of the build has actually been watch the length you went to with the rust repairs and it's given me the confidence to tackle my repairs to the same level.
The rust was defs not anticipated but once you committed you gotta fix them properly otherwise will always be in the back of you mind if you half ass it.. Good luck with your repairs Mate.
I just bought he FLG5 1.3 also because of the recommendation of The Gun Man. I ordered it on Friday and received it on Tuesday via DHL. I live in Mississippi just South of Memphis Tn. USA. I was pleased at the service and shipping. I will be using the gun in about two weeks. I am glad to know you like yours. I have subscribed. Phillip Hall
Love the colour. Must admit I wasn't sure about yellow when you announced it but I reckon you absolutely nailed the colour 👌🏼. I have really enjoyed watching everything you have done. If I had to choose one I would say the rust repairs. Really inspired me to get stuck into the rust repairs on my VL. Well done with the channel. I hope you keep it up when the tonner is finished 👍🏼
Hey mate. Enjoying the build. Love the shaved gutter idea. You are inspiring a lot of people to have a go. Nothing better than when the colour goes on. Cheers Mate
DNA paints is a good choice for paint, when I feel better I have 2 cars and 1 Ute to paint and one of them will be done in purple storm just don’t know which one. Loving the build so far has helped me with some different parts and how they fit, will be making my own parts for my build as I want to use non steel parts and will learn on how to do carbon fibre. Thanks for the drive to do better with myself and to learn more.
I'm tossing up between the perfect panel gaps, or the whole roof and deleted gutters saga for my favorite. The way you did the roof gives me hope and inspiration for my own rusty, hail damaged bucket. The build looks really great so far, can't wait for the tray build though 👍👍
Ive never reatored a car before so im pretty nee to the whole thing, but my favourite episode would have to be the ones where you attack the rust in the ute. It the next step for me after my rear down of my hz wagon and its given me more confidence to see you getting stuck into it mate. Such a great channel- keep it up Sammy
Congratulations on 5k, can’t believe how good the Yellow Vortex colour came out. Favourite part of the build has been shaving the door handles. Looking forward to seeing you driving around the Northside of Brisbane when it’s done. Warren
Maaate, you must have the best neighbours. As for the build, I just admire your innovation, your patience and attention to detail. The colour is “mint”. Your spray painting skills have also improved. A long journey from the SA vehicle. Kudos✌️
Love how you own it good or bad. Hole in roof for example. Front end and Astra pump location would be my top epp and something I would copy. It's been great riding the highs and low with you mate well done on the 5k subs. Don't want the build to end but also want to see video of your first show at the same time.

It’s looking fantastic. My favourite part of the build so far is your rack and pinion conversion, along with the electric power steering. You’re doing a great job 👍
All the mechanicals were really good to see how you problem solved, but it's the paint that is bringing it to life. So that's my favourite bit. Well done. Think about making one clip, time lapsed , of the entire build when you're finished. That'd be grouse to watch.
Stumble across you the other day! What a project it's amazing and your skills and explanations and tips of how you progress step by step in every video is excellent, better than any Tafe course congratulations! Also from Brisbane.
Congratulations on 5k mate!! Been watching for a while now and I’ve learned so much. Im 24 and you inspired me to purchase a HX Tonner of my own to work on. My favourite is the LED lights and the reverse scoop. It Really gives off that muscle car look with a modern flare.

That colour is going to really pop when out in the sun, what a great choice, and not many around with that colour choice, so bravo. Give yourself a pat on the back on a job well done.
Thanks a lot for the feedback and appreciate that coming from a painter. They guards look so good out the sun so I can only imagine what the car will look like out the sun. Have not seen a H series painted in the vortex so thats part of the reason for painting it with the DNA vortex...

Hey mate. Loving the videos mate. Ute is looking killer. For me I really enjoyed the gapping of the car. The tig rod idea is great as it gives you the nice finished edge. I was just going to spot weld till the gaps are good but think I’ll go the rod idea.
Thanks Mate. Its a lot of work gapping cars and getting everything aligned correctly but the tig filler rod worked really good. Give the rod a go and then you can grind as much material off as you need....

The color looks amazing mate. I have so many favorites on this build, but overall I’m going to say my favorite is the shaved door handles and new door opening release buttons.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks there Big Al... Appreciate the support right from the start...
Wow Sam. It’s looking great!! I loved watching how you shaved the gutters and did the handles. Not many people attempt that and you did a great job. I’d love to go in the draw to win a merch pack. Well done mate. I love watching your channel.
For a home done paint job you nailed it.. Love your build. If you wanted a show car add 30k. It will be a nice street car
I liked the four link episode but over all it’s a fantastic build keep up with the killer work
Thanks Mate
Loved all the fittings used with the drop tank! Well done coming together mate, perfection takes time.
Favourite part of the build is Definitly the drop tank. They suit these utes so perfectly. I can’t wait until I can get one in my Ute.
