Speaking as a US Army veteran, it's nice to see a photographer actually film the troops instead of following the band everywhere. I mean, I get it. The band is pretty and the music lovers really enjoy that... especially the pipers. But the band is there because of the privates in the column and, speaking as somebody who often marched in the middle of the third file [and was therefore invisible], it's nice to the actual working soldiers get some shine.
@@villanelle8888 Dunno, I’ve never heard or seen that before and I have a significant amount of years in military service, maybe it’s a British thing or maybe I’m just getting old and forgetful.
I’ve just watched the Royal Navy doing similar. WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT! Not as a service, but as a detachment. No drill discipline and no obvious pride in what they were doing!? I’m absolutely SURE that the RN has immense pride, but why put out these numpties to represent the Senior Service?!! I served for 29 years in the Army, so I have some ‘skin in the game’.
Bless Percy getting upset at Matelots. The Senior Service, unlike the other 2 services, it doesn't have the same love affair with synchronised walking as the Army especially the Guards Regiments which are positively anal about this stuff. Those who attend these ceremonial events are drawn from ships and establishments. The present monarch is a matelot, this mother the late Queen was married to a matelot. Being the Senior Service formed in 1546, by Royal Proclamation, we have the honour of always being at the head of these occasions. The late Queen was pulled on a gun carriage at here State Funeral, by matelots a tradition that goes back to Queen Victoria's funeral when the army couldn't control its horses pulling the gun carriage and the Royal Navy stepped in and tradition was born. So enjoy your marching up and down. Kind regards The Royal Navy 😀 😊😊. I did 22 years in the Senior Service.
Nothing worse as a soldier of any rank to turn up on parade with a peace chest, soul destroying. I would love to have shared my 13 medals around but you can’t borrow within the British Army, good old Kings Regs lol 😂
Excellent slick troups
Great video once again. Footguards unable to resist showing a bit of swagger in front of the cavalry
Some very long hair there in the Guards.

Yes yes….I was a short man in the middle…I relate…😂…🇬🇧
Fine regiment and proud to have been attached to it ,in the first gulf war .Good unit and great men
Love it, the sound. Just perfect.
sharp sharp sharp as hell and no gals..dont you just love a guard and that dragoon uniform is one of the best
Gals shouldn't be mixed with the men. It's totally ridiculous the Woke Weaky stuff that society is doing.
This is why Britain has the best trained regular and part-time forces in the world. British Army Veteran.
unfortuantely its smaller than the revolutionary and the Napoleonic era
Is it me, or is the officer at the head of the column marching out of step?
@@chiefeng4451 No but it does look like it. Although some parades the officer at the front is out of step. It could be the angle of the camera.
@@chiefeng4451 Is the Officer in front not supposed to be the one person whose step doesn't match? I've heard that somewhere before.

Salute 💯 👍 👍
A very heavy Scots brogue there......a delight to listen to but hell to understand...
Very very smart. British Army Veteran R.C.T/ R.L.C. 1985 to 2002.

Royal Scots failed to salute an officer on parade on the fall out , well done Scots Gaurds for bieng correct
The Royal Scots have not existed for decades.
You mean the Scots DG.
Why is a Sqn of cavalry being referred to as a Coy?
I am confused?
Maybe because they are serving as one of the half companies of that detachment?
half company
The scots guards "swearing like a trooper" at the rear of the rank.
Disgraceful carry on..............that's tea without biscuits before the Commanding Officer in the morning.........😂
He is in step but his sword is in his right hand so left arm swinging. Troops rifles Causing right arm to swing. Look at the feet!
Looks like the Royal Scots Dragoon guards Sergeant Major has lost his bayonet!😂😂😂😂
Ok all very smart and correct but some tubby soldiers in there too...
Since when have the army allowed beards? Thats the preserve of the senior service only.
Not any more, even the RAF allow them.

Damn those Scots Guards are well fed looking guys, they are on average taller looking.
A bit of poncy marching at the end there. A bit surprising. Like that Monty Python sketch...
Yes the British are all about Marching Bands! It was a pitty that the Afghanis were not impressed at all”
Make the UK Great Again! BRING BACK THE BRITISH EMPIRE!
HUZZAH!
Nope. Nobody needs that. That benefited no one else
