How come the Defendent refuses to testify under oath at his own trial? If they're going to accuse everyone else of lying and he's innocent, why shouldn't he testify in his own defense?
It's on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. No attorney would want their client to defend themselves. In fact, this is just a desperate tactic to shame trump into actually taking the stand because the case is falling apart otherwise

Trump's defense team is establishing a basis to request a mistrial due to defendant lack of competent legal council.
That is not a basis for a mistrial. It may, however, be the basis for a legal malpractice suit on the part of Trump.

Most likely end game IMO: Prosecution rests tomorrow. Defense moves for a directed verdict (denied). Slight possibility that Defense might call Alan Weisselberg, but unlikely. Defense also rests tomorrow. Closing arguments on Friday or Monday. Jury deliberates 2 1/2 days, with one or two wanting a not guilty verdict. Compromise is reached. Guilty on 4 or 5 counts. In June or July he is sentenced to probation. And then the endless appeals begin.
