Please ADD to the boot reviews: heel cup and tow box sizing estimates. As in: The heel box is narrow while the toe box accommodates a wider foot bed. Thanks guys, and the reviews are incredibly helpful as presented otherwise. Many thanks.
Mountain 60 Surfer I wear a 10- 10.5 and went with a 10.5. They worked great with deer and elk hunting. I hiked some pretty steep stuff and they worked great.
Everyone raves about these but everytime I wear them on a hike my feet kill by the time I'm done. Mine are size 10 and I wear them with a pretty thick cushioned sock. My street shoes are converse size 9 but the 10 boots fit me good. Enough room in the toe box, no heel slippage...what am I missing?
Excellent boots BUT the soles start chipping away quickly. I’ve used these for 1 full season of archery elk and rifle deer and the lugs are falling apart. That is my only complaint tho, these are probably my favorite boots so far.
Bummer to hear about the wear and tear so quick! Glad you are liking the boots though. Please shoot our footwear guys an email at boots@gohunt.com if you run into any issues.
Hi. I own a pair of Men's Salewa Mountain Trainer Mid Gtx in US size 10. They are the 2nd generation (as I understand, both the Mountain Trainer Mid and the Rapace are currently on their 3rd generation). I also understand (if I'm not mistaken) that the foot platform on both Mountain Trainer Mid and Rapace is the same. So, since I'm about to purchase a pair of Rapace GTX, my question is, will a size 10 fit me right just as in my Mountain Trainers Mid? Considering they are a different model (but with supposedly same foot platform) AND a newer generation (I suppose another question is: has sizing changed between boot generations?). Thanks for your reply!

Both are great options and both boots are pretty similar. With the Rapace you are getting a stiffer, more durable, and little bit heavier boot. If you are a person who likes a little more flex in your boot with it still being able to handle most terrain then maybe the Mountian trainer is better for you.
Ok, just my personal experience, but after 8 miles of mountain trail (mailnly stones) the vibram is gone into pieces... Everything else is true: very comfy, no blisters, waterproof, high stability. The sole... I know for sure I'm not the only one who had this problem, and I hope Salewa will fix that.
I've found Salewa soles wear much faster than the vibram on my Scarpa's. Many salewa boots can be resoled however and I would contact the company about getting this done. It's a shame because thry make otherwise brilliant products.
@@sdemosi To be completely honest, they did fix the problem offering me a free "sole exchange". They even shipped it back to my city: they were very apologetic and told me such thing is not "the norm" and it should have not happened...
man I have no idea how did you manage to kill the sole..... I bought them in 2022, about 200 km, stone tracks, no signs of use, almost! I am 91kg if it helps
yeah, your foot has to use to them, first 30 min of wearing - pain, then ok, stifeness is incredible , maybe need to wear it out? Saw a footage where an owner told - used them for 5 years, not as many traces of using and they look great.
as an Italian, it's great to finally hear a correct pronunciation of rapace, well done ;)

Hey Brian, did you size up with yours ?

Hello! Thanks for the review! What temperature do you think it can stand? Thank you very much!
My favorite boot
Trails too.
What's the difference between these and the Mountain Trainer ?

Do you think ordering 1/2 size up might Be better for a lot of steep country downhills ?
Waiting for the Wildfire GTX Mid review

Which product would you recommend for waterproofing this boot ??

Did you guys tried tecnica forge ?
That's a great boot! Is it resoleable? How does it compare to the la sportiva trango tower?
Yes, they are resoleable! The Trango Tower will be a slightly stiffer boot.

Can anyone comment on waterproof/comfort in snow paired with a gaiter? I’m thinking 2nd rifle Colorado type conditions.

leather - 1,6 against 1,8, note it also
