Of Blood and Fire is great- it is fast moving and a relatively easy read. Yes, it has elements of more traditional fantasy but done in a fresh way. I wouldn't read the novellas first as you may not get the full impact of how rich the world is from them, as by their nature they wont be such a deep dive.

Loved 1 and 3 but hated 2 and 4
I'm gonna finish up We are the Dead early next month and will probably continue with the series right after. Jumping into Jade War as well next month and Seeds of War. Oh and Suneater. Oh Oh and Blood Meridian. I'm all over the place. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on We are the Dead.

Thank you for the vid. It was a good one. I have been mood reading since March & will continue until I read the last 3 Red Rising books in July. I also, want more Stephen King in my life. So, looking at reading Needful Things soon. Also, Boy's Life has been a glaring hole in my McCammon experience. But, heard it was good for a summer read. So, waiting on some nice weather for a little Om-Beyoncé. Other than that, I've got Discworld, Arthur C Clarke & Matthew Corbett books to choose from. Cheers.
