Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊"METALIZMIZUMIZUMU" - great song - Middle Eastern/Egyptian/Arabian (or similar) psy-trance metal at its best.
If there's one thing you can expect from BABYMETAL it is the unexpected and to be surprise ... they have about 70 songs and each one is different to the last ... this one caught all of us by surprise.

Unusual song to start your BM journey but it's all good, you'll find plenty of more songs and trust you've seen and heard nothing yet.
Last week they released a new collab along with Electric Callboy and it's getting everyone pump up, it's a super fun dance party metal song if you wanna enjoy it next time while is hot.
Here's some basic info:
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
About METALIZM:
This is the type of songs and blend i was looking for, and is another song that the girls love. The elements reminds a lot to DVBBS & Borgeous - Tsunami, the first time i heard the snippets of this got immediately those vibes, but i wasn't expecting that solo guitar, we got the Western Kami Band performing this for the first time and it was great. The exotic middle eastern sound (maybe?) gives to this new track a sort of tale that relates directly to METAL KINGDOM and maybe Divine Attack - Shingeki too.

They took footage for this clip when performed live at "BabyMetal Begins - The Other One" April 2nd, and some fans at World Tour 2023 were lucky to see them live performing this.
This journey is fascinating and the metalverse is becoming a rollercoaster.

Welcome to Babymetal and great reaction! This is a very unique song from Babymetal, but then again, they are the epitome of uniqueness lol. All their music sounds different, yet amazing. These gals are 14-year veterans of the show biz and have been crushing it since a very young age. Babymetal is, at their core, 100% a live performance group. You'll need to experience the live to get a true sense of what they bring!
Suggestions:
A more "classic" metal feel
*Road of Resistance:* Epic power metal anthem. You can do the "Official Live" to see them 9 years ago, or "Pia Arena MM, 2023" for an equally amazing recent performance (Same show as Metalizm).
For the "WTF" factor
*Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Slipknot, but adorable. Heaviest song about hide and seek.
The funnest party banger of the summer
*Ratatata (MV):* Just released a few days ago and a 50/50 collab with Electric Callboy. Fun times will be had by all.

Very unusual way to start with them but it seemed to work pretty well. And I'm glad for it.
"METALIZM" is not an easy one. Because everything about it is unusual, unexpected or "fooling": the use of that particular minor harmonic scale (giving the song its Middle Eastern flavor), the lack of an actual chorus, replaced by two guitar solos, the onomatopoeic use of the tittle in the lyrics... Yes, this is different from... well, everything else.
I was lucky enough to experience this song live in concert last year in Berlin and I have to say that the song kicks ass and the guitar solos are so freaking amazing. I believe that's the proper technical terminology. 🤣 They even changed the arrangement for the first guitar solo on the live version, probably to match the choreo.
They are known for being better live (this music video has the studio version dubbed over a concert visuals). And for being very diverse musically (this song is actually a good proof of it) since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁
Honestly, after this one, you can check out any song you want, haha... but I basically second Jake's list.

Amazing band
I can only say....great.
Her choreography is increasingly surpassed, and Suzuka's wonderful voice, beyond all range.
And what is incredible is that people did not know about them until a few days ago, with the incredible Ratatata.
They are amazing
You have to check out the amazing all female Japanese band called Nemophila next and their song Revive or Adabana!
