It actually holds up, very well! Very, very well actually. On the surface it looks like a goofy "cool" anime, but if you look a bit further, it's deep af. It'll give you ALL the feels. Onizuka is an amazing character and a Great Teacher, and the world would be better place if more was like him! I doubt anyone would EVER tell you not to watch GTO., it's up there on my Top 5.

When I read GTO at 20 years old it was such a nice experience this anime/manga seriously explored the mentality of coming of age and how it doesn't matter what's our situation we can always turn around the page and be better.
