I recently purchased this monitor and now I’m trying to return it, here is why: 1) No aux out - Your only option for external speaker connection is Bluetooth. The problem is every time you turn the monitor off the connection will be lost and when you turn on, you will need to hit “OK” to confirm to reconnect to the speaker. 2) The Monitor lacks standby mode when connected to a PC (or Mac) using USB-C. The monitor will NOT automatically turn on (or wake up) when you move the mouse or tap on the keyboard to wake up the computer. The only way to “wake up” the monitor is to manually turn it on via the remote or joystick button in the back. The same goes for sleep, monitor will NOT be in standby mode, it will show “No signal” screen (like a TV) and you will have to turn the screen off manually. 3) It won’t auto-switch to USC-C input when your PC is waking up from sleep and you are using smart apps or other inputs. You will have to manually switch to USB-C input via remote. Think of this product as a TV in a monitor form factor. It’s a shame LG didn’t bother to do minimum work to make this work well as a monitor as it lacks the most basic monitor functionalities.
I also bought this Smart TV masquerading as a monitor and am trying to return it for the same reasons. Additionally it has the power consumption of a Smart TV because it's actually a computer.
I bought this Smart TV masquerading as a monitor and am trying to return it because: 1. You need a remote control to turn it on and then you have to spend a minute fumbling with the UI to get it to switch over to type-c input 2. The volume and brightness cannot be controlled by the computer - again you need the remote to control it. 3. Oh btw it didnt come with a type-c cable, and you need to buy the most expensive one for it to work. Reply
I prefer a smart TV over a smart monitor because, although both offer 1080p resolution, a larger screen provides a better viewing experience. Smart monitors are more tailored for gaming and video editing, which isn't my primary need. I would only consider a smart monitor if I lived in a very small room with no space for a TV.
Same problems like Samsung M series smart monitor. They call this entertainment monitor but their speakers are worse than any noteebok speaker. You can't enjoy any movie with this monitor.

Samsung M5 monitor user here, I feel it's the same in my case too
Very useful information. A little suggestion, you could solve the sound problem with a dock.
And there is HDMI Arc, so you can actually get a TV soundbar and use it as a speaker. This may actually be an advantage in some situations.
