I used to have a Darkarts 72 and loved it, mine still groveled well. I wonder if it was because it was Darkarts that it groveled well.. but the fins I used that I really liked were the f8 vaporcores and the tokoros.
I just got a new one last week with more liters a xtr10 72/FT HYBRID , 5 fin swallow tail with the rocker in the middle of the two boards and I been riding it with the h4 quads and it feels really good, kind of what you were saying tho, not the best groveler with this version but when you stand up it just goes FAST! Gonna try the FT or the AM pro fins in it soon

i found that the sharpeye fins have a lot of drive and hold but have good release. They were a game changer in this board. It came off the bottom well and was snappy through turns. (best of both worlds). I have yet to try the f8 but they were recommended by sharpeye. So i could see how those went good.

What are your thoughts on the inferno vs red tiger?

i think it really depends on your preference. I like the red tiger for its simple feel and predictability and it did seem to grovel a bit better.
The inferno was extremly fast and loose and has more un-predictability which i prefer nowadays moreso begause it livens up california waves.
If its any indicator when i just went to Tavarua, i brought my pyzel phantom and pyzel ghost.
If I didn't have the phantom i would have brought the red tiger for its precision surfing and hold on better waves/reef breaks.
