7:00 There's a workaround for this: in the loop add a text-editor widget and via the dynamic tag choose 'post summary' Click on the wrench icon for the settings and specify a length (maximum amount of words) Another solution is via CSS: selector .elementor-post__excerpt { overflow: hidden; display: -webkit-box; -webkit-line-clamp: 5; -webkit-box-orient: vertical; } This CSS means the excerpt will truncate after 5 lines.
Thanks for the trick. When the excerpt truncate after 5 lines, it will be good to add three points at the end of the text. This is comfortable for the user experience. Please how can we do it ?
Two thumbs up. I completely agree with your recommendations. My number one frustration is the issue that you pointed out with column gaps. I routinely set the column gap in sections to none so I can set spacing manually or through CSS. Very few website designs want columns that don't align to the grid on the outside edge.
The number one thing for me is that for a payed plugin, the form widget does not include conditional logic. That is just baffling. Keep up the great work, i really like your videos :)
This is fantastic! I haven’t heard very many people talk about some of the points you made, so this video was super interesting. The lack of hamburger menu options frustrate me the most. Been wanting that to update for years. keep up the good videos!
There is a plugin called "Make column clickable elementor" which does exactly what it says. What I miss then is a column overlay on hover (also above its content), which would make it more understandable for the user that the particular section links somewhere.
Someone actually posted about this video in a fb group that the Elementor founders are in, and one of the founders replied that a lot of the issues mentioned will be resolved very soon. Also, I can tell you that soon Elementor will be changing to Flex, which will resolve some of the issues as well.
I think the ones that hits home for me the most are the responsive header design and post widget. There are others you've mentioned but these two - post widget and responsive header that always shift when you change stuff in responsive mode and ut shifts thr desktop layout and it's not only in the header - is annoying ad hell and frustrating. IT. IS. ANNOYING AS HELL. I posted both in the Elementor community forum and in FB official group about making my header responsive and wad shocked to get.the response about making two headers.
I agree with all of the issues you have pointed out. I've been an Elementor user from their beginning, use it on all my sites. Hopefully your video will highlight these frustrating issues.
Elementor is useful when editing themes. Not when you want to implement a custom design or custom posts. If you want anything that has the word custom, better not to use a page builder.
Hello Rino, Thanks for taking time with this list of needed features! Just a quick note on suggestion 10. I began working on websites using Adobe Muse which had some great features for lay out, my favorite was the “States Button”. Muse did not have Elementor style columns but this button allowed this very functionality you are requesting. It was possible to define the border and background, add multiple images, add text with different styling, add svg, jpg and png. Each element could have specific normal, roll-over and active states. And when the site user rolled over the button ALL of the elements would display their individual roll-over states. The button could also be assigned a link and if you needed to show the button on the new page it would display the active state so the user would know they were on the new page. The states button is the only thing I actually miss from Muse. Mel Newcomb
Honestly pretty much all of these are why I mostly use Oxygen now. It's frustrating when you can't add a link to a column or change the gradient overlay simply because someone didn't include it in the widget settings.
Thanks for sharing, couldn't agree more. Some of these can be fixed with other plugins or custom CSS, but it would be much more efficient to have it all build-in to Elementor. I've got one more essential thing (imo) which is missing: Why do some input fields have the option to select dynamic content (like heading and text editor), and others don't? Way more fields should have the option to be dynamic. A few days ago I had to make employee pages. I made a custom post type (JetEngine) and wanted to make a template for the employee page. On this page the customer wanted to add a form which sends an e-mail to the employee on the page... Guess what. The 'email to'-field in the form widget is not dynamic. So I had to make a seperate (duplicate) page for each employee, which was way more work than what is supposed to be needed imo. Besides that it will be a pain in the ass to change the lay-out of all those pages if the customer wants to change something.
Good to see most of the things annoying me was on the list. I would like to be able to replace icons with SVGs including the hamburger so I can turn them off. Also the post widget is annoying not being able to move things around or make all the text clickable. Also a read more link is useless link.
Hi Rino! For the chapter 7, is a work-around. You can have one column, each image is in-line auto an you can space horizontal space between. Is way better than use 4 columns for the performance. Hope it helps 😁
Thank you for bringing attention to this! I love Elementor and like yourself don't plan on switching but I really hope they get their act together and start improving the builder!
Hi. how would you solve the issue of having transparent header matching the diverse images on the site, like one being dark and your menu links have to be white for example, but on other pages the backgrond top image is light so you cannot see the menu anymore. is there a hack or we have to create separate headers everytime and choose on which page they have to go manually ?
Hello Rino, There is 2 things that I would like Elementor to fix asap: The icon list widget does not align to the first line anymore, this happen after an update in septembre 2021. The next thing would be to fix the form widget that keeps a attachment file on the server instead of sending it with the email message. Please help us get the basic widget to work properly :0
Hey Rino, actually for header issue that you are mentioning here, you can simply do that by only having 1 header. Start with 2 col section and at the 2nd col section, pull in inner section so that you can flip the inner section for tablet or mobile.
I love Elementor. But some of their strategy isn’t practical at all. They should be focusing on how to make Elementor more faster and add/improve necessary features. Also they should bring the moduler widget system that enables you to switch on/off widgets according to your need like most the Elementor addons do.
What about the annoying NAVIGATOR panel that covers my work and won't let me work. So I need to deactivate it, but it pops out again and again in every click I make to edit something.
Rino, when I duplicate a section, it then moves around with my mouse and until I click it then stops following my mouse around. This was not the case a few versions ago? Did you ever run into this? Before it just used to close the section and it was done, then you could drag it into place. Then, another one is if I click on the section and go to edit the properties of it, it sort of does the same thing, it believe I want to move it, then I have to click about 20 times to get it to undo itself so I can edit the properties.
that's why I have to do a lot customised code still after the website built with Elementor due to the lack of the major features, they really need to improve the majors rather than releasing cool animation features
Yes, I agree to all of them! And the one from me to add: In Nav Menu you can choose option to be horizontal or vertical. I want to create vertical menu for my client, with line pointer on hover. In horizontal menu this line pointer on hover is fitted to the length of the each text in menu. Each words has a different length so pinter is fitted to them. BUT - not in vertical menu! And this looks like disaster! Then you have a vertical menu and the line of the pointer (like underlying text) has the lenght of the whole column! It is a huuuge bug. And I fixed this using CSS to the element class which put "fit-cntent" to the underlying pointer, after 5 hours of looking to this solution. It is so frustrating because it should be working both - in horizontal and vertical menu!
HiI don’t know why I didn’t see any of the problems with Elementor before I built my website with it and 48 posts! Now I am trying to add Ezoic and seeing how it slows things down. Can you tell me: if I very slowly work on one post at a time, converting to Gutenberg, but leave the pages as they are, will this improve my site speed with Ezoic ? Ezoic doesn’t tell you up front that this will be a problem and while I was researching pagebuilders trying to figure out how to do this on my own, I never heard one bad comment mentioned about Elementor. I also have Astra which is supposedly an additional “problem.”
Hi Rino, have you ever had the problem "server-error 500" occur while working in Elementor? Just asking because I tried everything and cannot get to the root of the problem - and the clients page was supposed to go live today.
Thank you. :) Great insight as always. I'd like to add a rant about the slider. It also just keeps moving whilst you're still designing it. Plus they should add some more options, as too often it's hard to position the text over the picture.
I agree with most of your points, especially the closing one. It's one of my pet peeve about Elementor, where existing widgets isn't improve on but new features are being kept adding on. Elementor should have a interval cycle of new features and improving existing features. Having said that, I'm looking forward to see what Elementor has to offer with its upcoming container and mega menu feature. However, I have to point out about point 7 that the reason that column gap is not adjustable as mentioned in the video is the way flexbox works; column gap merely adjusts the columns' margins. Unlike a grid where's there is a grid gap setting, there was no equivalent for flexbox until early this year in major browsers. So this CSS feature is still fresh out of the oven and isn't supported by older browser versions yet.
It must be so satisfying to vent one's frustation with Elementor's shortcomings. I'm just surprised your list is not longer :) I wrote several times to Elementor to stop throwing eyecandy features at us and start fixing all those UI flaws and inconsistencies first.
I agree with everything you listed! Especially about making good business decisions - one of the biggest drawbacks of Elementor right now is the speed issue, if they could come up with more ways/options to reduce bulk that would be a good thing to prioritize. Love your passion and sincerity
Hey Rino, I enjoyed the video. I'm surprised you didn't list the automatic size of padding & margin when you add a widget. I recall you mentioning how you always have to clear that out so that content aligns properly because Elementor adds a default value.
There are some fixes for these issues I use on a daily basis: 1) Use an icon and a popup instead of the default menu 7) In some cases you can inline the widgets and use "space between". 9) use custom css: selector { order:1 } on the item that should be first, selector { order:2 } for the second etc.
The posts block is frustrating because if you choose image next to the text, it doesn’t stack on mobile (and almost impossible to fix with css) so your image is super tiny and text is super narrow. Not sure if this was ever fixed, but I had to use Elementor custom skin plugin…
I also work with Elementor for some years now and the lack of some key features is frustrating, especially after changing their pricing model I would have expected more. For years now the community is asking for a feature that allows you to use Elementor template systems how you would intend to use it (e.g. for custom loops), without the need of a third party plugin. Further, aligning columns in Elementor to match your grid, should be very easy, without creating gaps that contradict your layout (grid). If I need to it, I do it every time with CSS. It's basically not possible for me, not to use CSS in projects (which is totally fine, for me at least). Aligning columns to match your grid is doable with CSS Flex (very good browser support) or even with CSS GRID (good browser support).
I thought it was just me losing my mind with the steps on the forms, I have to fill it out each time it gets so irritating 😂 I think you definitely chose the essential frustrations, these things are so minimal so easily fixed
10:09 in fact, it's super simple feature to implement because the gap property is fully supported now for flexbox. it was for grid containers only, which the portfolio and post widget use. All you have to do is set column gap to no gap and add CSS: selector > .elementor-container { gap: 20px; } [data-elementor-device-mode="tablet"] selector > .elementor-container { flex-wrap: nowrap; } This will create a column gutter of 20px. On mobile the columns will stack with 20px gap. I know it's not a code free solution but it saves you time, no need to do calculations.
I am designing a Website with Wordpress Elementor. But somehow I cannot edit it anymore. Not everything is fully displayed. Can someone help me with that.
Great video, I also encountered some of these issues when designing a clients website and found them to be frustrating, especially the responsive part you were showing here, with regards to headers, my client also had 3 column header and when it displays on mobile, it looks terrible, we had to implement two separate headers and turn the on or off based on the type of device being used. Also wanted to let you know that your Croco-blocks link on your website is not giving the 10% discount. I am hoping they going to have a better discount for Black Friday.
Great video but with one disagree: it is better to build a simple logo or picture grid with custom positioning in one single column. than you can choose with of an element in percent (e.g. 25%) and so you can adjustit correct and it is better for performance (smaller DOM size)
Fab video, can I add to the list a request to show post listings with html excerpts and prevent the post listing titles/feature images linking to a post. I know posts are meant to be timely etc but sometimes I just want to use posts as features or services or team members for example, so they don't need to link to a post page of their own and the excerpts need to display the full html body content in the post listings, again a wonderful video thanks, totally agree on Elementor focusing on getting things right, keep up the good work 👍🏻
Nice video!!! For the last point there is a plugin called elementor addon I think. But we can't I just choose the zoom oder alignment of a picture I'm placing. If I put in an image with a special hight or width I always need to go to Photoshop first and cut it to the right size because I can not do a repositioning in elementor. That's really nasty.
Most of those can be resolved by custom css, press F12 to find the element and input the style you want. You are not even touch the trouble of real key key functions issues yet. like how to control the user register and login...
I'd like to see the typography options in the Site Settings expanded. At present, you can set up your type settings but it assumes all text will be set in the same colour each time you use it. Most of my designs see sections where light text is used on dark backgrounds, paired with sections where it's dark text on light backgrounds. By not having a way to control this in the Site Settings, it means that roughly half the typography is not centrally controlled which is very, very annoying. It would be great to have more flexible options for design backed up with the power of Site Settings.
create a class called "dark" or whatever you want and give it {background-color: #000, color: #fff;} Then add this class to any section that should have the dark color scheme. Lets you change all those sections in one place.
I built separate pages/columns for each different devices because it kept changing on other devices even when I put on "Repsinsice mode," it's irritating and time-consuming.
We use an "icon" widget linked to a popup to display menus in a nicer way on some of our client websites. Good when you want something more than generic hamburg.
Has anyone have problems with the mobile version? When I apply a change supposedly only for mobile it applies for everything. I have to create a new set of sections only to adapt to the different devices. Annoying!!!
I’m using Elementor for a client’s project. I usually create everything from scratch with Next.js, React, and Styled Components where you have precise control over every pixel. But I’m also enjoying the WYSIWYG experience of Elementor, and I finally have custom post types, taxonomies, filtering, and Ele templates. Just fumbling around with this for the first time and it was probably implemented faster than I could have done it with Next.js. And of course, then you have an entire backend and mature plugin ecosystem. But I’m relieved to hear all these limitations are known issues.
Hey. So I'm a web developer. All the features and stuff that you were complaining about, they are pretty easy to implement. They can fix it in a max of 1 week. Even I can fix those in one week, with proper testing and... But the problem is that they don't f**** care. THEY DONT CARE..
A frustration I've had this week is that Global Font Styles all share word spacing. Super frustrating when you want to have some supersized text on a page with some extra spacing between words because that same spacing is applied to everything on the site! You can apply word spacing in the text or header widgets, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a global style, no?
Oh my god Rino, these are issues that I was having too, I am kinda new to the whole web dev as a professional. I was kinda thinking these issues were my own fault. I hope they fix them
Hello Rino! Not to mention the fact that their FORM does not offer us the option to change the radio/chebox styles. this is not way to treat their customers. Because of this small (?) detail we are forced to use other form builders and install another addon in order to create this UX we are looking form. Learning CSS does not make sense if we are looking for a one stop form solution. Also, their calendar does not work in Portuguese.
Precisely picked issues. Loop builder is most crucial and most needed and after years of users complaining I don't get the did... well.. exactly NOTHING. Even their Skins dropdown inside Posts widget contains still only 2 (and one full content) skins. Unbeliavable. Sad true is using 3rd party plugins for that makes super-bloaty DOM content, so without your own php-written loop I can't see light at the end of tunnel. :-( Second one is Nav widget and all its problems like menu icons, impossibility to arrange items to right (when mobile/dropdown), or impossibility to set custom breakpoint value. Anyway even with all that huge bunch of workaround and custom CSS Elementor is still most complex and easiest to use builder I've ever used. Let's hope for even better future :-)
Hey! For number 2 you could duplicate your picture, change the background overlay on the second one and make it only appear in the phone responsive mode
There is no ”tab” key for alignment of a first row of a paragraph, or a shit tab, or anything else but ”space-space-space”, which is really big issue. And also a length for that future ”tab” alignment is needed.
A couple other things that I run into often are: 1) No way to make a popup only appear every X days and 2) I see no way to remove a form after someone has submitted it - it just shows a little tiny message but the form just stays there as if nothing happened.
My workaround is using my own custom css and media queries when it doesn't support elementor size breakpoints. For example the second one I would just target the class or id of the image and simply do a background: linear-gradient, url(the image url), and then make media queries for each size. Fortunately I'm an expert at CSS so a lot of these others can be solved with simple extra CSS but yes I would agree, unfortunately Elementor falls short of some things for sure for people that don't know CSS.
Hi Rino, It was a very insightful video! I think all the things you mentioned in your video must be fixed immediately. I agree with all the things you mentioned in this video. Especially the speed problem, I think if they come up with new ways to fix all these problems, it will become a much better builder. Although Elementor is pretty much the best builder, I really think, they should work on improving to stay at the top.
Regarding point 7. I am also annoyed about it and solve that by making the section 60 pixels bigger at e.g. "wider". Wider is 30px padding on each side so the section is to set to 1200px width on a layout of 1140px
Thanks for bringing these critiques up in an informative, non-accusatory way. There are almost always going to need to be little workflow tweaks that people want, and showcasing them as a proponent of the tool is always a good starting point. We are looking forward to getting Crocoblock for Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales discount to help combat some of these design issues that we run into with our work as well. Thanks again!
Good compilation of feature requests. Am sure elementor team will incorporate some. I have one more request for woocommerce elementor pro custom template . In theme builder > product archive template > display options > product categories, I have to choose each category manually. I wish I had an option to choose "child categories" so that any new child categories will automatically use same template as the parent template. I think in post archive template, elementor has the child categories option in display options
I feel the pain! #10 Making columns clickable. It is weird because if you go to the "Advanced" tab you have a place to add a class or an id but they are missing the a section to add a LINK, so you can target that class or id. In a previous job they build was BeaverBuilder, and with it you can do all these but it does not have as many addons or plugins as Elementor. Many of your complains can be worked around with CSS but I understand not every one knows advanced CSS.
The most important improvement Elementor should make is the speed performance of the mobile version. We may get 90 or above for desktop but very difficult to get this score for mobile. Just too much optimization works we have to do with mobile version on our own.
Could you do a video on optimizing WordPress websites, including plugins to avoid and plugins to optimize the website, as I have started my wordpress journey and found this to be the hardest thing to do
One important UX related issue you've missed is inability to set a parent page for custom post type posts. I.e. once you open the post page from the loop the main menu does not reflect the parent page activated. Am I missing something? I was not able to set the parent page item activated in the menu. I could not even find a lame CSS workaround. The amount of CSS Elementor produces is disappointing.
I found a solution for all 10 issues! :D Problem 1: Switch over to Webflow Problem 2: Switch over to Webflow Problem 3: Switch over to Webflow Problem 4: Switch over to Webflow Problem 5: Switch over to Webflow Problem 6: Switch over to Webflow Problem 7: Switch over to Webflow Problem 8: Switch over to Webflow Problem 9: Switch over to Webflow Problem 10: Switch over to Webflow Hope this helps :)
#1 - keeping it to one option only creates a situation where users can learn what to expect from this icon. Having a unique design sure is a benefit for a designer, but from usability standpoint, too many options confuse the user. I agree with the other points....
Number 6 (Column widths): Set section to "No Gap", and don't use columns wherever possible. Install Ooohboi Steroids for Elementor and use that to give widths to your elements, then space using the horizontal spacing sections (e.g. like the 4x images you've got in the video, use Widget Stalker from Ooohboi to set the width of each to calc((100% / 4) - X); where X is HALF the gap you want between the items (so if you want 50px between them, X is 25px). Then set the horizontal alignment to space between. You can also set responsive widths per breakpoint on Widget Stalker.
Brilliant, Pete! I've watched some of the Ooh Boi YT vids but a lot of the stuff he's built is over my head. I think you have to know more about CSS than I do! I've tried to use your suggestion to make a grid (e.g. 4 across by 4 rows), but it doesn't work. The 5th+ elements just get jammed into the same row instead of going into following rows. Can you help me with this please?
@@iwbowden You need to be sure that your calc statements add up correctly Theoretical values for demonstration: 4 objects to go into single line Each object width is calc((100% / 4) - 25px) That means there will be 25*4px (100) of empty space. If the object is 101px wide or wider, it will drop to the next line. If the object is 100px or narrower, it will fit into the available space (100px)
You could set each object to a simple 25% width, and then use padding to space if you wanted a more straightforward way to go about it (I just favour the above approach personally)
@@old_ogcdigital Many thanks for your help thus far. I think I'm beginning to grasp this but there's still a missing piece or something I don't understand: Using your demonstration values I've created five Elementor image box widgets and all remain on the same line; the fifth doesn't flow to the next line despite each widget obviously being wider than 101px on the page. The only place I've found I can actually set the width of a widget is in Advanced > Positioning > Custom Width. Is this what you're referring to? Even if I put 101px into this field on all five widgets I still get them displaying in a row! Sorry to be so dense on this! (What I'm eventually wanting to do is have nine widgets display in three rows on a desktop screen and one widget on each row on mobile.)
Hey Rino, Thank you ! It's nice that an influencer like you can come up with what needs to be improved To set up my buttons I use the global widget feature, then I copy and paste it, it's simple ! :)
Elementor should use oxygen as example and reduce the code it creates. Its like div div div div... I also agree about the hamburger menu but I think there's should be more possibilities to customize the whole menu, including effects. Loading animations are missing as far as i got it. Gradients with more than two columns are missing. Pricing tables are shitty in elementor as well as in crocoblock no. Responsiveness also impossibru in this case. With margin and paddung I sometimes got errors and the arrows were missing. There was a bit more but I can't remember at the moment. If elementor would fix it all it would be really a pleasure. Ty, rino for your effort! Booked your Xd course, which was great although I thought you would present more content regarding the process with the customer e.g. which decisions will be forced to what time and how is the process with the customer...
Goede lijst. Elementor is goed, maar je moet zoveel aanpassen om het mobielvriendelijk te maken, dat het gewoon slecht is voor SEO. Hopelijk doet Elementor hier wat aan, anders staat er iemand anders op die het beter doet. Keeping up your great vids!
I agree on all these points. As a paying customer it is rather infuriating Elementor insists on briging new features on the table, when some of the most essential features are missing or broken. Stop what you're doing and fix your product. Options not being dynamic OR break point aware is such a huge oversight. It's a real nuisance for people working on a day to day basis with Elementor. I couldn't care less about new widget nobody asked for when some of the core functionality is lacking behind.
In the point 9 i add an inner section inside header section, and there i add the nav menu and button or social media, so i can "revert" position of that columns in the inner section in mobile, without moving the logo. In the 10 point i normally use a free plugin called "make columns clickable elementor", its just that. Allows to add link on columns. I agree with you in all other points and i think i can think 10 more hahaha
How would you best create a hierarchy of categories that filter you down to Content without opening multiple pages. Example: > You see a list of all 50 US states. > Click a state > Click a county > Click a city > see content without creating 10,000 pages. and make it easy for a client to update the final page content?
I use to work in ASPX and AJAX, this was easy. I know I can add CSS and AJAX to elementor but then it becomes difficult for clients to update (it seems to me)
For me, there are two more fundamental annoyances: 1. (At least on my small screen) The Elementor toolbar takes up screen width, so it reflows all the elements to a fit that doesn't exist. To see what I've built, I have to minimise the toolbar and then trial-and-error stuff back and forth until it looks right. Why not scale everything in proportion? Let me see a shrunk version of my design so that I can see how everything fits together. Don't mangle my layout just so that my text-sizes are 100%. I don't need to know that every minute while designing. I do always need to know how my build looks. 2. Elementor adds default spacing to things. Unnecessary, but fine. Why, however, does it not display those values in the padding menu? How can they be hidden values? Now I have to check through 10 things to see where some rogue spacing lives. And if I then want to adjust padding in those fields that have hidden values, my change deletes all the values and I never get to know what that value was in order to put it back in the fields I didn't want to change. Please comment if there is some setting I don't know about that will help me to not experience these problems.
Another one: I design in XD and make an object, say, 300 px. Then I add it to Elementor and set its max width to 300 px. You'd expect it to be 300 px, right? No. When I screenshot it and paste it into Photoshop and measure the item, it's 360 px. HOW??
Rino seems that you need to look after another builder. By the way, Oxygen has all the features that you mention, only the form is missing from it. I suggest giving it a try...
My solution with 9 is to add a 2 columns inner section in the section’s second column that has the social icons and nav widget, then reversing those inner columns in mobile. Not ideal but better than two headers I think
Hi Rino! I'm Mod in the Elementor Community and Hub. I already share your comments to our Leads. Thanks for the time and suggestions! :)
Hi please tell them to add option of mega menu.
@@faizrehman7937 you clearly missed the point of most of this video
Kindly share the link of this comunity. Cheers
Mega menu!
Thanks. Elementor doesn't include post carousel. We need "post carousel with custom loop" in elementor.
7:00
There's a workaround for this:
in the loop add a text-editor widget and via the dynamic tag choose 'post summary'
Click on the wrench icon for the settings and specify a length (maximum amount of words)
Another solution is via CSS:
selector .elementor-post__excerpt {
overflow: hidden;
display: -webkit-box;
-webkit-line-clamp: 5;
-webkit-box-orient: vertical;
}
This CSS means the excerpt will truncate after 5 lines.
Thanks for the trick. When the excerpt truncate after 5 lines, it will be good to add three points at the end of the text. This is comfortable for the user experience. Please how can we do it ?
@@baliflorent6971 'the three points' are added automatically when you add that CSS.

Hello Rino,
Thanks for taking time with this list of needed features!

Honestly pretty much all of these are why I mostly use Oxygen now. It's frustrating when you can't add a link to a column or change the gradient overlay simply because someone didn't include it in the widget settings.
just new in elementor..may i ask what is the factor causing it slower??
or how can i optimized it?Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing, couldn't agree more. Some of these can be fixed with other plugins or custom CSS, but it would be much more efficient to have it all build-in to Elementor.
I've got one more essential thing (imo) which is missing:
Why do some input fields have the option to select dynamic content (like heading and text editor), and others don't? Way more fields should have the option to be dynamic.
A few days ago I had to make employee pages. I made a custom post type (JetEngine) and wanted to make a template for the employee page. On this page the customer wanted to add a form which sends an e-mail to the employee on the page... Guess what. The 'email to'-field in the form widget is not dynamic. So I had to make a seperate (duplicate) page for each employee, which was way more work than what is supposed to be needed imo. Besides that it will be a pain in the ass to change the lay-out of all those pages if the customer wants to change something.
Also... Conditional logic in the Elementor form widget. Been waiting for that for a while 😄
@@casperpost2557 Agree on email. This should be set Global. similarly Social media links should also be global.
Not exactly what I meant, but that would also be a good addition! 🙂
@@casperpost2557 YES.
Also they should bring the moduler widget system that enables you to switch on/off widgets according to your need like most the Elementor addons do.
just new in elementor..may i ask what is the factor causing it slower??
or how can i optimized it?Thanks!!
Would love to see an advanced video that shows how to get around each of these problems (with CSS or otherwise)
I also have Astra which is supposedly an additional “problem.”
as a beginner is very useful to see the missing features and the limits of this page builder. Thank you very much ☺️
Have been using Elementor for our web agency for nearly 2 years now. Can safely say this video addresses everything we have been wanting!
They is 100% compatibility with flex and grid
It must be so satisfying to vent one's frustation with Elementor's shortcomings. I'm just surprised your list is not longer :) I wrote several times to Elementor to stop throwing eyecandy features at us and start fixing all those UI flaws and inconsistencies first.
EXACTLY! Who cares about animating stupid lottie pics!! But yet they dont even have PURE DEVELOPER basics like HSL color option!
I recall you mentioning how you always have to clear that out so that content aligns properly because Elementor adds a default value.
you can remove default spacing for widgets.. thats been in settings for awhile
There are some fixes for these issues I use on a daily basis: 1) Use an icon and a popup instead of the default menu 7) In some cases you can inline the widgets and use "space between". 9) use custom css: selector { order:1 } on the item that should be first, selector { order:2 } for the second etc.
9) Then you need the media query too.
@@babakfp you are absolutely right
But popup doesn’t register for SEO purposes?
@@sonareclipse9810 Interesting point, but is the site creawled in the mobile version?
@@jcwebtech I thought Google were crawling mobile first these days? I could be wrong
The posts block is frustrating because if you choose image next to the text, it doesn’t stack on mobile (and almost impossible to fix with css) so your image is super tiny and text is super narrow. Not sure if this was ever fixed, but I had to use Elementor custom skin plugin…
Yes agree with all these! PLUS how to create taxonomy grids eg a grid of taxonomy images which link to taxonomy listing - anyone know how??
10:09
in fact, it's super simple feature to implement because the gap property is fully supported now for flexbox. it was for grid containers only, which the portfolio and post widget use.
All you have to do is set column gap to no gap and add CSS:
selector > .elementor-container {
gap: 20px;
}
[data-elementor-device-mode="tablet"] selector > .elementor-container {
flex-wrap: nowrap;
}
This will create a column gutter of 20px.
Thanks Rino! Great video. Fix the issues first, Elementor! Before tackling new features!! 🤞🏻
I agree with you 1000%. This are just basic obvious (to us) things that keep getting passed over.
Really just about every option should have a responsive control including colors.
Yesss absolutely!
I'd take this over more responsive breakpoints any day
10:14 - Been almost years I've been wondering about stuff like this. Thanks for pointing this out to Elementor. Hope they'll listen.
"Make Column Clickable Elementor" plug-in. Great plug-in :)
On the number 2, I duplicate the sections and set the responsiveness on each.
I don't know how to use Photoshop well. 💔😔
Hey. So I'm a web developer. All the features and stuff that you were complaining about, they are pretty easy to implement. They can fix it in a max of 1 week. Even I can fix those in one week, with proper testing and... But the problem is that they don't f**** care. THEY DONT CARE..
Great points, you should also do some videos regarding the elementor new beta features for Woo-commerce! They are amazing
That's crazy they don't allow you to upload a custom svg to the hamburger. Always a pleasure catching your videos!
I hope they fix them
Someone had to point these out! Thank you. I've been having trouble using Elementor as well. I really hope Elementor fixes these issues quickly.
Second one is Nav widget and all its problems like menu icons, impossibility to arrange items to right (when mobile/dropdown), or impossibility to set custom breakpoint value.
Great video mate, i also hope they will fix those problems fast
There is no ”tab” key for alignment of a first row of a paragraph, or a shit tab, or anything else but ”space-space-space”, which is really big issue. And also a length for that future ”tab” alignment is needed.
It would also be cool to have actual drag-and-drop like showit, gives us more control over putting things where we want them.
A couple other things that I run into often are: 1) No way to make a popup only appear every X days and 2) I see no way to remove a form after someone has submitted it - it just shows a little tiny message but the form just stays there as if nothing happened.
Also, icons widget in mobile do not let you align text side by side to icon and you have to use separate css. Pretty annoying
Hi Rino,
It was a very insightful video!
You are so right about these missing features! Hopefully your video will be seen by Elementor!
I completely agree, especially for the header (no 9)! Awesome vid
Could you do a video on optimizing WordPress websites, including plugins to avoid and plugins to optimize the website, as I have started my wordpress journey and found this to be the hardest thing to do
How you make login, register, forget password and my profile or my account page. please make details Video. So that we can change and design.

Do you not have to pay per site?
Yep, this works - I do hate it though when solutions start with ‘install X plug-in’ :(
Brilliant, Pete!
@@iwbowden You need to be sure that your calc statements add up correctly
Theoretical values for demonstration:
4 objects to go into single line
Each object width is calc((100% / 4) - 25px)
That means there will be 25*4px (100) of empty space.
It's nice that an influencer like you can come up with what needs to be improved
To set up my buttons I use the global widget feature, then I copy and paste it, it's simple ! :)
I do the same with my buttons :D
Ohhbois Elementor on Steroids has alot of these features which extends the functionality of elementor like clickable columns etc.
Being able to shift click to select multiple elements at the same time on a page when copying and pasting a particular style to all of them
I agree. Thanks for the video. I also use Elementor Pro
Number 10 is verry easy to solve. Use the plugin make column clickable. It is ridiculous that you can’t do that in Elementor
I also suggest and want. Css scroll snap. Feature in elementor 🙏
Thanks for this video. Elementor doesn't include post carousel. We need "post carousel with custom loop" in elementor.
I totally agree with you and elementor guys should watch this and fixed this problems
How would you best create a hierarchy of categories that filter you down to Content without opening multiple pages.
Example:
> You see a list of all 50 US states.
> Click a state
> Click a county
> Click a city
> see content
without creating 10,000 pages.
and make it easy for a client to update the final page content?
I use to work in ASPX and AJAX, this was easy.
I know I can add CSS and AJAX to elementor but then it becomes
difficult for clients to update (it seems to me)
For me, there are two more fundamental annoyances:
Hi Rino, from where do you get inspired ? :)
