So, just so you know... LOL! He started playing piano at 3, singing at 5, trained heavily in opera, and loves all genres. Here's the thing. This man has a once in a century voice; biology, training, desire to sing, drive to be the best he can be... And it shows. He can literally do ANYTHING he wants to do with his voice. Opera INSTRUCTORS are baffled by the fact that he can sing legitimate opera as a male baritone and tenor, female mezzo soprano, and even high coloratura soprano, and switch between any and all at any given time, between notes, etc. This is stuff that nobody has EVER seen before. He is absolutely, hands-down, the best singer on the planet. And a LOT of professional vocal coaches...won't even argue that point.

As someone who has written books about Dimash, and listened to him for the last five years, I still get a thrill out of seeing an unsuspecting music lover react to him for the first time. Yours was one of the best I’ve seen in a few days, because all of the new reactors are equally astonished, but in so many different ways. Reacting to Dimash creates a physical anomaly of some kind and sometimes many of them. Usually it’s jaw dropping, eye popping, goosebumps, some profanity, because you can’t believe what you’re hearing, but I will say that Dimash’s fans do not prefer profanity at all. There’s disbelief while uttering the words, otherworldly and angelic and impossible.
And so many others.
He is a devoted patriot of his country, Kazakhstan, still lives with his family in Astana, the capital, but he’s rarely there these days. He keeps getting awards and honors And has been receiving those since he was six years old. He started studying music when he was five, instruments and singing. His music teacher, when he was five declared to his family that he had absolute pitch. His first contest was at six at the piano. He plays seven instruments. You can look them up on Wikipedia. A few he most often plays during his concerts. We look forward to them. I saw him in New York in December 2019. That concert is in three parts on his RUclips channel.
I could name 50 songs easily that are my favorites. You started off with SOS, which was a good choice because it was the song that gave him immediate attention and won him millions of fans in China in 2017 at a competition show for established singers. He was the wildcard and by far the most popular singer for the four month competition. he is deeply involved with movie videos, sometimes two or three a year. He’s a composer and a lyricist and a musical script writer.
His humility, for a celebrity of his stature is so commendable that I can’t even find the words. He is eager to pay things forward and has helped thousands of people with his own money or by supporting and being an ambassador of his favorite charitable organizations. The event that you just watched Dimash Digital Show was indeed broadcast in January 2021 during the height of the pandemic. His fans, called dears., were missing him at his concerts, and other guest appearances and 140 people were involved in the digital show that had a playlist of 22 songs. He literally charged us $10 apiece to stream it to our television sets We follow him like crazy on his Instagram accounts and of course, RUclips. The Asian community or countries have different music and social platforms which I am not familiar with. But he’s extremely popular in China, Russia, and European countries. America hasn’t caught on yet, but it will but only when Dimash says it’s time 😊 he has performed many covers from a Russian composer and record producer by the name of Igor Krutoy. Igor, for the last six years has been creating and composing songs just for Dimash. They have a gentlemen’s agreement and have not signed any contracts with each other. Mr. Krutoy came out of retirement to work with Dimash.
He is 6 foot three and has been quite the model for magazines, commercials, etc. In the beginning it was not something he preferred but we believe he’s used to it now. There will be many things that you will learn about him along the way, so I’ll cut this short or rather shorter than I would like to because I could talk about this guy for hours. What am I saying? “The genre is Dimash!” So true! :). Dimash is not your typical artist. Most artists try to find their sound. Dimash tries to find sound. If it sounds good, he sings it. Genre? Dimash. I like that one. He sings French rock opera (SOS), Kazakh folk songs (Daididau), Freddy Mercury covers, … he could sing the phone book and make it sound good. He sings in 15(? Maybe more by now?) different languages, recently did a duet with Placido Domingo, has a brand new music video that premiered February 26 of this year called When I’ve Got You. He composes, but not exclusively. He has collaborated with Igor Krutoy several times, has an incredible message of love and peace, (The Story of One Sky is a masterpiece!), plays dombra, piano, guitar, drums… put an instrument in front of him and he cannot stop himself from making music. @panscarr…..It’s a bit more accurate to say Dimash has had 25 years of musical training. He did have classical Bel Canto training In his early to mid teens. The operatic training was not for a long period..

Welcome to the once-in-a-lifetime, phenomenal Dimash! This song is in French & it's from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania. He isn't the first person to sing it, but nobody has sung it as good as this! It does have English lyrics in the closed captions.
Dimash is from Kazakhstan, sings in 14 languages (though doesn't speak all of them), has a 7.2 octave range, sings all genres from Opera to pop & everything inbetween. While the song speaks to all of us and emotions that we struggle with in life sometimes, the song is also from the 1978 French Rock Opera "Starmania". As in most opera's there is comedy and tragedy. Lead character Johnny Rocket is fighting against a totalitarian force. During a battle the love of his life "Cristal" is killed and dies in his arms. When Dimash falls to the ground and cries out at the top of his lungs he is actually in character because Johnny Rocket does this in the opera screaming over Cristal's body while singing this song. Dimash truly makes you feel the pain of that moment. I've heard this song sung many times over the years by many people and there is not one person that makes you feel the suffering of that moment like Dimash.

About the song: It is from a ‘70s French rock opera. The character voicing the song is singing beside the grave of his girlfriend, grieving and contemplating life’s mysteries, wishing he could soar above it all like a bird and perhaps see a more beautiful perspective.
I have one definition for Dimash. A soul healer. It has been 5 years, and he still touches me so deeply. No other artist affects me the way he does. Not even close. That's the most important thing about him, in my opinion. His voice and technique and range are amazing in every genre and style, but his ability to emote and move and touch and heal souls with the way he uses his abilities is beyond anything. And he is a wonderful human being too. I see people already write to you all kinds of exaggerations and distortions. it's a pity because he doesn't need all of that, he is great enough without that. I can tell you very shortly what essentially is true: yes, he has been studying and training since the age of 5, he has education in classical and contemporary vocals and he currently on the way to his PhD. However, for instance, he only plays 2 or 3 instruments well and a few others on a purely amateur level, He himself is very humble and never exaggerates his abilities like some dears do. Never mind, in time you will hopefully learn to distinguish truth from all these unnecessary and sometimes truly ridiculous hyperboles. He is the greatest ever for me.

Been watching Dimash since he popped up on you tube 2017 on I Am Singer comp. I am besotted with him. Enormous talent but no ego, very much the humanitarian, humble, respectful, kind and loving. I’ve been to three overseas concerts of his and am going to Budapest in May and Istanbul end of may to see him again and I am 79. From U.K. He oozes talent, singing, playing instruments, dancing, directing, modelling etc. he comes from a musical family who are all equally charitable and talented.

Dears are what his fan base is called. So this song in particular is a cross genre type song that Dimash is known to do, but its technically not his as its from the 1970s. From a French Canadian Rock Opera called Starmania. But then Dimash has made it his own. Dimash will be turning 30 this year. His newest song is in English, When I've Got You. There are no words that can describe Dimash, his voice, his enormous abilities, his genius, and his humanity. And his humility and his love for goodness and people... ♥️ Dimash is a human being from another world.
It's always SUCH a blast watching first time reactions...lol! And YES, PLEASE, it's not Di MASH( NOT like mashed potatoes!) but DEE MAHSH...Just pointing that out. Nice job figuring out that it was done during Covid to make sure that we Dears didn't miss him! You have seen NOTHING YET. This is tame compared to what he has accomplished since them. Believe it or not, he's IMPROVED! Just one thing....don't take your eyes off of HIM. Every single movement, every single note, every single lighting in his videos is done on purpose to perfect the whole viewing. Dimash is a master on EVERYTHING that he does. He works very hard on all his videos, all of this concerts, all of his musical mini movies. Just one thing, though....always watch until the end of his videos. It will give you insight on how truly special Dimash is. Not only is he amazing with all the work he puts into the performance, but the ending will tell you how loving, grounded, respectful to all of the crew that is there helping him, how much he adores his Dears and how much we adore him back! You know now that this is French but he has sung in 15 languages, speaks Russian and Kazakh fluently, is SOOO much better now in English and is learning Mandarin. He is working towards his PhD in Music Theory, plays 7 instruments, was recently given the scholarship to study directing at the NY Directors Film Academy to study directing, sings EVERY genre, recently was discovered by Placido Domingo himself, and sung an Aria with him, and is just EVERYTHING. Fun fact: Igor Krutoy, which you will see in some of his videos playing the piano, is a very famous Russian billionaire/composer/pianist who in retirement and when he saw Dimash sing once, he came OUT of retirement just to compose songs for him! In the last 5 years that I discovered him, I have not been able to listen to anyone else because they all sound like amateurs after listening to him. Thank goodness he doesn't let us go too long without shocking us with something different and new all the time. I would suggest that you stay towards his older stuff, first, so that you can see how he has actually progressed. Want to feel like you are in Heaven? Listen to Ave Maria. In 2017 I first heard Dimas, He was on the Singer 2017, not sure if it is still out there, in China. He is from Karaka stan not sure of the spelling of his country. An awesome singer.

Im 74 in 4 days and travelled alone to Malaysia in June and HongKong in Dec 2023 to his concerts...he can be very addictive..lol. it's nice to see another Aussie find this wonderful, humble, respectful, awesome singer. I've been listening to Dimash since Covid started back in 2020. I discovered a lot of artists in that time, but none of them caught and kept my attention quite like Dimash did. And watching reaction videos to his songs for just as long.
I'm not gonna lie, every time I see a reaction for Dimash, I end up cackling because I know what's going to happen. Hehe, one of the reasons why I enjoy your videos is because of how unapologetically expressive you are.
From what I've learned, Dimash was trained in classical operatic techniques by his mother (who is a soprano herself) which is one of the reasons why he is able to go so high. But in his song "Unforgettable Day", Dimash was able to go even higher to a D8 which is a whistle note and not even on the Piano as a spur of the moment type deal.
My favorite Dimash song(s) would have to Stranger, Story of One Sky, Ogni Pietra (Olympico) which showcases his full range in an opera-style song, Zhalyn (which I believe was inspired by Michael Jackson's music style of which Dimash is a huge fan of, if I remember correctly), Ulisse, and Ti Amo Cosi (this one was done in collaboration with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina). There are many more that I enjoy listening to, but these are my personal favorites.
The one thing that stuck out to me about Dimash is how humble he is. As well as his loyalty to his home country, Kazahkstan, and to his family as well. There are not very many celebrities that are like this and Dimash really is a cut above them in how genuine he is in most circumstances.

You should start at the beginning, to see how the rest of the world met him. The Singer 2017 competition was where most of the world met him. SOS is not an original song & is one of the most difficult French songs to sing. He started with this song on a Chinese singing competition (balls) & they LOVED him immediately!

Dimash is INSANE! You are 100% correct when u say he is his own genre. This is just the tip of the iceberg. You have a massive journey ahead. Dimash has a 7 octave vocal range and sings in 16 different languages. The guy is incredible. You are listening to vocal royalty right here. I recommend you listen to him sing 'Stranger' and 'Ava Maria' to appreciate his range, and unrivalled vocal control, and his version of 'All by myself' for his level of artistry. So many more to explore, but I'd start there x
I don't think I have ever heard anyone express it so perfectly before as you just did. And I am not necessarily talking about your verbal comments. though they were spot on. Your face, body , and soul just said it all. I have to admit . I am an X Army Counterintelligence specialist. I am also a musician and have performed , Recorded and done studio work for years. I though I had seen it all. . The first time I heard this , I couldn't do anything but sit stunned , and in tears.
