All depends on your work ethic and how you perceive it. At first it was a huge relief for me to be able to leave a 9-5 life to own my own business even if I was making $15 an hour. Now after a year of being open I’ve made as much as $160 an hour by learning how to grow my skill set and the business side. Even besides the money it’s the best job I’ve ever had because I can be my own boss and the business progresses based on the effort I put in. Again, it’s all about how you perceive it.

@@djnegro_ct7783 I can confirm that my 10 year old Volkswagen Passat SE will look like brand new every time I do a quick cleaning. It won’t even actually get dirty, it’s incredibly easy to keep clean. I love the carpets, the leather seats, the surfaces. (And I love that no one drives this model here in Europe and people will actually walk up to you and ask you about it. 😎)
In the search of saving weight they mow don’t use the quality materials they used to. My 2005 e46 coupe had a much better quality carper than my newer beemer, and no scratchy plastic lower down
This is a message of thanks. Many pregnant women go through a phase called "nesting" when they have the powerful urge to clean and prepare their home. When I was "nesting", we were homeless staying with family, and I wasn't able to prepare my home the way I desperately wanted to. Your videos helped me get to sleep at night, watching something messy become clean and new again. And now, almost 2 years later, I'm pregnant again, and I still enjoy watching your videos in the comfort of my cozy home! It's relaxing and satisfying to watch you work. Thank you for many good night's sleep!
Great detail! Have you ever made a video about the care and maintenance of all your detailing equipment? Such as laundering your towels, the do’s/dont’s, brushes, vacuum, steam machine. Similar to garage clean up but the equipment.
I like how you spelled it “Bimmer” instead of “Beamer”. As an E46 BMW owner myself, I can say these things clean up incredibly well. The carpets, the paint quality. The plastics, on the other hand, like the center console pieces leaving scratches in the surface due to a certain coating over the plastics. Other than that, I love how these things look clean. They’re such beautiful cars.
In german these plastics are called "soft paint" and a lot of E46 drivers here remove them, the parts are rather easy to get out and there are some easy tutorials on how to remove this paint. Afterwards spray it with a spray paint and theyre looking new again
Nice transformation. Shame to see the rust starting to take over an otherwise nice car. The odd wheel would bug the sh*t out of me. Great job as usual! Thx
Fortunately the rust issue can be taken care of for small money. Spot repair is doable and recommended in this case. I would estimate about 300 Dollars to fix it
I appreciate that this guy's car was just regular old car/hard use dirty and not some of the absolute bio-hazard disaster zones that you've cleaned up in the past. Looks amazing for an almost 20 year old car too! Awesome job!
It’s only a sneak peek but that’s a beautiful car and I can’t wait to see how slammin it’s going to be, plus It looks like you’re on a rebound with Customer’s reaction.
Nice job on the BMW Mitch. My favourite comment from a friend or family when I have completed their vehicle, The last time it looked this good was when I bought from the dealer. This motivates me to keep going. The only bad thing here in Ottawa is the winter that shuts me down. You keep me inspired with your videos and the tips that you have provided to me without hesitation when I have asked and I will alway be thankful for that. Thanks for being there.
Great job. I was at my daughters last week and cleaned both their 4 wheel drives. A little frustrating when you are relying on the local do it yourself car wash, which does a basic job and between continually toping the money up, managed to get them looking better. Then a few hours at home emptying them out and wiping the interior. I kept thinking I wish I had some of your products. I enjoyed it just the same and I think they were happy with the result. I have two grand daughters, but they were both not really dirty - just normal wear and tear. I’m in Melbourne, Australia.
The clay part removing contaminants is soooo satisfying 😍 I’m learning so much from your videos. I can’t wait to use these things on my car. Stunning job as always Mitch 🔥
I’m currently detailing my brother’s 1997 BMW 540i and the carpet is so nice and it’s been so easy to clean, even with 25 years of grease and grime (owned my mechanics). I shampoo the carpets tomorrow. Then it’s all done!
Hi Mitch! Question(s) of the week: Do you charge your customers for this service? If so, how much does this type of work cost per job (estimated of course)? Or do you make your money monetizing the videos we watch as well as product sales, etc? Forgive me if this has been asked in the past and I missed it. Thanks!
As a former E46 owner I can definitely say that it had the best interior carpet out of all the cars I have deep cleaned.. today I vacuumed a Ford Mondeo Mk 4.5 and all the dirt and dog hair were extremely stuck in the fibers.
Amazing ! You brought this BMW back to life. It was a beautiful car underneath a disguise of dirty salty mud. The rug was high quality as your bissell passes the pile stayed full and not sparse. The McCullough steamer brought the dash and doors back to original beauty. Oh and the seats got a total makeover. They needed your DG cream really bad. Can that be a maintenance to keep the seats plush. It was like the leather was parched and when you offered the DG cream drink they really popped. The detail brushes really get hidden dirt out of crevices that a cloth cannot reach. Wow! Honestly, that BMW’s end results were really just like the owner said, “Looks just like when he drove it off the lot”. Much deserved compliments to you Mitch. You got the magic sir !
While this wasn't the grossest, nastiest car DG has done, it was an amazing transformation and gets nominations in best exterior transformation, and best owner reaction, " that's showroom, baby!". This is what I look forward to every Friday night with a nice glass of Scotch! Kudos DG.
Every Saturday my father washed and waxed his car and being his little helper that love of detailing was instilled in me. 60 years later my four adult children and 21 year old grandson find detailing their car and waxing it under a tree so rewarding and therapeutic. Love your videos and wish I had that set up. 🤣
I have been watching auto detailing videos all morning, I don’t know if these other guys are aware, they are posting videos because they think it’s going to get them lots of subscribers and they will make lots of money, when the fact of the matter is the quality of work is not there, then we have the Detail Geek, doing it because there is a passion for the work he does, this is what makes his work far superior to anything else I have seen online, I have been detailing cars for years and I know what it’s like to get excited about doing the work and loving every minute of it, this is how you make money and get millions of subscribers. This is why the Detail Geek is the best, Oh and because he is Canadian, Eh!
I'm glad BMW thought about making the cleaning process easier by using quality products and often cleaned items removable or easier to access. They did quite the friggin' opposite as far as the mechanical servicing on them. Specifically the powertrain, which is a nightmare to work on.
I have a 05 325xi and a 530xi. My 3 series in need of some body work. I've had alot of mechanical stuff done due to other owners not maintenanceing this fantastic car. ❤️
Hey Mitch this BMW was a piece of cake every once in awhile you deserve something easy. You put in countless hours busting your butt to make some of these vehicles look showroom new. So whats next for DG keep up the good work and see you in the next video🤔💦🚗👏
Great transformation. Most of these German car interiors always bounce back to looking like new. Good quality interiors. The mechanical not so much. Also, Nokian Hakkapelliitas are incredible winter tires.
I'm surprised how well the owner took care of the car. Every time I see an e46, it's always rusted out and dented all over the place with a christmas tree of warning lights on the dash 🤣🤣
I’m glad you have cleaned this year of BMW I’ve cleaned a 2003 5 series and it has plastic wheel well liners and oh boy you would love to clean them as they are easy
My hat is off to you Mich you took a 19 yr old BMW and made it showroom ready. What another awesome job this is why I enjoy watching your channel. 😀👍🇨🇦
A lot of BMW’s have em. Other cars may have them too but not too sure. I watch a guy @m539restorations. He does a lot of bmw work and I’ve seen them on his channel. I think it’s a leg support of some sort. Looks fun to have lol!
It's a thigh support. They're nice for those of us with relatively long legs; basically makes the seat bottom longer as needed. :) Several cars have them. A friend's newish Lincoln actually does this better and sort of unrolls from under the seat so there's no gap. My 2022 BMW still has the gap, though. 🤷♂️
For long legged men like myself, seats often feel too short, and uncomfortable on long drives, seats with pullout extenders support my legs almost to my knee, which is way more comfortable.
As much as I love seeing you tackle the dirtiest, most trash filled vehicles, I also love seeing you do older cars. You worked your magic on this one--beautiful job. Glad the customer was appreciative. And since I have a car that's the same age as this one, you've inspired me to do some work on mine (although I won't be able to match your results!) Great video--keep showing us these older vehicles--they're worth saving!

Dude your voice and videos are so relaxing 😭 I fall asleep half ways through every time which is a major deal coming from a person struggling with insomnia . Who knew watching a car get cleaned could ease my mind 💀
Have you ever considered using an air blower when drying the vehicle?. I find getting water out of the small places like window seals and wing mirrors a pain. I find an air blower works wonders.
It's always so interesting when you tell us at the end of the video how long the Vehicle took to clean! Another fabulous outcome and very happy owner. 😊
The reason behind the e46 cup holders coming out like that is because the North American market's demand for having cup holders vs. European automakers resistance to having them was it its peak at the time. BMW designed it as a standard in NA markets, but Euro had it as options. Common mods for NA vehicles is euro armrest (which removed the storage and armrest entirely) and euro center tray which gives you a storage compartment instead of the cup holders
I have the same car in Mysticblue-Metallic. Only 330d, without X-Drive, but the rust the E46 in the video has, mine has it as well. Front fenders, piece below the trunklid, both front doors (lightly) and the hood. Hood, fenders and front doors getting replaced from a donor car. Common on the "top" of the chassis: Front fender wheel wells, doors (seams/corners), the piece below the trunklid and the trunklid itself. So, I can assume it is, (also from the spare parts I saw getting out of the trunk) is a well looked after E46. They have their spots, but if you remove/clean and protect the spots, the rust won't show again.
All your videos are great and this one is no exception! Fantastic job and for a 19 yr.old BMW,the car still looks in great condition! Bring on the next detail!
I think the carpeted wheel well liners and under the car are all dependant on the range of 330. I have a 330Ci and my wheel wells are carpeted along with the underside of my car, it’s also a 2003.
Love your videos man! You are the reason I applied at a dealership for a detailing position just spoke to the manager hopefully they get back to me soon keep up the amazing work man!
Any thoughts of making a degreaser/ cleaner with Anti-Salt properties ? Ammo NYC sells a product called Frothe that’s a foaming cleaner/degreaser sorta with Anti-Salt so help remove salt and the chemicals left behind while still being safe and gentle on painted surfaces and I believe it’s even Ph neutral to be safe on coatings as well ! I look forward to trying your product line out ! Love the videos !
It is fun to see what people keep in their cars. You should do a video showing the different weird items you found in peoples cars. Thanks for your videos, it is always fun to see the transformations.
That moment when you think he left a spot of dirt on the car but its a spot of dirt on your phone screen. Another amazing detail keep the good work going! :))
Video idea for maybe the 2nd channel? But could you do a video on simply the items you use for each detail like a break down. I know you’ve done the garage tours and shown them but like for example how many 12x12 microfibers did you go thru per vehicle (roughly) how many dry towels do you go thru, etc etc. and then your process for afterwards. How you go about washing etc those towels after. Do you use a separate washer and dryer do you keep your clothes and towels separate that kind of stuff? Idk just an idea I’ve been curious as to how many towels etc you go through each detail.
This was touched on a little in the video but, if a car company gave you the opportunity to help design a car edition i.e. carpeted wheel wells, style of floor mats, etc. that would make it easier to clean and maintain what would you suggest?
I put my hand in the wash mit but I use my other hand to rough it up in the dirty rinse bucket, then I have a second clean water rinse bucket, then the 3rd bucket is my wash soap. A bit overkill but hey why not
"You almost left me speechless" and "that's showroom baby" is what I heard there. I am stoked for Friday with this BMW and your commentary. Let's go Mitch!!!! DG Nation!
Hey detail geek you ever thought about using air to blow a vehicle out. That's what I do when detailing. A good air compressor and and air gun make your job easier. Just a thought
HI! I’ve been watching for about a month, now. I really love your work. :) Question for your next Q & A: how did you decide to become a detailer? Tell us about your career journey. Thank you! :)
one thing that keeps me from jumping into a 525d or 530d E60 from my 2002 Omega C 2.5dti is the typical BMW plasticine interior smell... it literally repels me from any BMW starting from the 80s up to like 2015 when the smell suddenly disappeared...
Nice car I couldn’t tell what color it was white or silver? A lot of miles on it though! People must do a lot of driving up there in your part of Canada I used to drive 70 miles a day to work but 6 yrs ago I got a job that’s only 7 miles from my house I love it! Car doesn’t have to get serviced as much
In my experience steering wheels can get really dirty, and can take a considerable amount of time and several passes to get clean. They can be kind a pain, but never see them in your videos. Any reason why?
That might have been the ULTIMATE BMW transformation and owner reaction! For a 19 year old car it sure was looking INCREDIBLE!

Wow I know Mr Steve McGarry. I met him at a conference in carlifornia 2021 where he introduced us his business strategy, he helped me cover my student loans
I think trading is easier with proper guidance, especially from a proffessional it really helps reduce the chances of running into losses. All thanks to Mr Steve McGarry He changed my life, I was able to pay off my mortgage

I'm happy to see Mr. Steve McGarry mentioned here, my spouse recommended him to Me after investing $4000 and he has really helped us financially in times of COVID -19 lockdown here in Australia. 🇦🇺
Dude your voice and videos are so relaxing 😭 I fall asleep half ways through every time which is a major deal coming from a person struggling with insomnia . Who knew watching a car get cleaned could ease my mind 💀
Hey Mitch,
Mike likes Honey!!! What!! 🤣
The BMW looks good!! He didn't sound all that excited?!!
As Always Amazing!!!❤️🤗😎
I’m a detailer for Honda and imma start telling my boss if we can get detail geek cause my man you make miracles happen.💯
Never Seen This Model Of BMW So Fresh & Clean. Now THAT’S How You Make A Car Look Like A Million Bucks.
Been a detailer for 15 years, but just tried a Lilly brush for the first time today, and wow, it's a game changer
The before and after transformation of each vehicle he details never fails to NOT blow my mind 🤯! So precise and thorough 😌
I love this video! Thanks for sharing!
It's completely safe to let iron remover dry in. You don't need it to but its water based to water will dissolve it even dried in....
The last exterior snow shot were really impressive bro, even the owner’s reaction.Good work DG as always 👍
what should I look for when trying to find someone to detail my car? Any red flags on what to avoid, positive signs to look for?
Thanks for the advice on Salt removal from carpet. I hit the Bonneville Salt Flats 3x per years so....
The best 3 series that will ever. I don't think BMB will pull it off again the way they did on that generation. The job cleaning it was immaculate.
I had an '03 330xi once so I really enjoyed this video. Brought back some good memories.
"That's showroom, baby"
YESS DETAILING ON OLD AND CLASSIC CAR !! it’s better when is not a recent car
All your videos are great and this one is no exception! Fantastic job and for a 19 yr.old BMW,the car still looks in great condition! Bring on the next detail!
I love seeing the extreme cleaning you do on the worst of the cars, sometimes it's nice seeing easier ones too.
Love the videos !
same as my car! mine is a 2002 bmw 318i. loved this video 🥰 your detailing skills are insane! so inspirational
Nice job! Soo cool that the car is 19 years old and looks awesome. Especially like the winter wheels too.
I love how the camera shots go with the beat, it’s satisfying
It is fun to see what people keep in their cars. You should do a video showing the different weird items you found in peoples cars. Thanks for your videos, it is always fun to see the transformations.
That moment when you think he left a spot of dirt on the car but its a spot of dirt on your phone screen. Another amazing detail keep the good work going! :))
Just wow! The owner said it right, was almost like going back to 2003 and seeing it on the lot new. How do you do such an awesome job? 💯👏
Detail geek foam available
on his website
Video idea for maybe the 2nd channel? But could you do a video on simply the items you use for each detail like a break down. I know you’ve done the garage tours and shown them but like for example how many 12x12 microfibers did you go thru per vehicle (roughly) how many dry towels do you go thru, etc etc. and then your process for afterwards. How you go about washing etc those towels after. Do you use a separate washer and dryer do you keep your clothes and towels separate that kind of stuff? Idk just an idea I’ve been curious as to how many towels etc you go through each detail.
Outstanding job, car looks new! 👍🏻
A bit overkill but hey why not
Fun vid! Thanks for including the amount oil time you spent! Important for all to realize!!!
"You almost left me speechless" and "that's showroom baby" is what I heard there. I am stoked for Friday with this BMW and your commentary. Let's go Mitch!!!! DG Nation!
this is a job for patient people. You have my admiration👌
Man the mismatch wheel on both the last details drive my OCD insane lol 😵. Great job as always! Looks amazing! Keep up the great work!
Love the background music, it’s always so relaxing to watch your videos
Do you ever use your iron remover as a clay lube? Doesn't work well with proper clay, but if you use a clay sponge/pad seems to work pretty well
Do you clean the seatbelts? If so, what is your process? I know mine have a few stains from eating in the car.
When you are polishing the cars you detail, are you putting on some kind of sealant on the paint? Like wax or coating?
Those old BMW were very beautiful. It's a shame they went nuts when designing the new models
When you have a vehicle with paint chipping what do you do to prevent your process from creating further damage?
Hey detail geek you ever thought about using air to blow a vehicle out. That's what I do when detailing. A good air compressor and and air gun make your job easier. Just a thought
Dude, if anyone ever took there time like mitch does.. fuck thanks. I'd give that man a hug for his love treating my car as if it was his.
HI! I’ve been watching for about a month, now. I really love your work. :) Question for your next Q & A: how did you decide to become a detailer? Tell us about your career journey. Thank you! :)
I’ve always loved this model of bmw. So nice to see it shining like this
one thing that keeps me from jumping into a 525d or 530d E60 from my 2002 Omega C 2.5dti is the typical BMW plasticine interior smell... it literally repels me from any BMW starting from the 80s up to like 2015 when the smell suddenly disappeared...
I just washed my e46 bmw this morning after seeing lot of your video and you washed this today !
After scrubbing the carpets with a drill brush and carpet cleaning solution, do you still use a solution in the extractor or just warm water?
WOW! What a transformation. Do you use warm water when shampooing and washing the exterior?
Nice car I couldn’t tell what color it was white or silver?
A lot of miles on it though!
People must do a lot of driving up there in your part of Canada
I used to drive 70 miles a day to work but 6 yrs ago I got a job that’s only 7 miles from my house I love it!
Car doesn’t have to get serviced as much
17:14 that goes to show that there's nothing like pressure washing the mats. the clean water coming out of them... priceless :D
In my experience steering wheels can get really dirty, and can take a considerable amount of time and several passes to get clean. They can be kind a pain, but never see them in your videos. Any reason why?
