Mercury's voice and Gramms voice are two completely different styles. I agree both have great voices in rock music but Mercury had a very unique style. One voice musically that comes to mind that's wonderful is Klaus Mein of the Scorpions
I think that with both singers & guitar players there is a top tier & there are a number of guys in that top tier. You can’t really say one is better than another among those guys. It’s all subjective at that point. In my personal opinion Ronnie James Dio is the best, but is he really BETTER then Freddie Mercury, Paul Rogers, Bruce Dickinson, David Coverdale, etc: ? I’ve never really placed Lou Graham in that top tier, but that’s just me.
The instrument creeping along in this song are genius ! Lou’s vocals are deep and steady and bring the song along with style. This song won me over a life long fan!
Seriously....it doesn’t get better than this era. They know how to actually sing, and gasp play real instruments. Not just stand around trying to look pretty.

Cali Rose, this is real music and soul poured into the the artform, no auto tune , drum machines and costume gimmicks. THERE IS AT LEAST 10 OTHER SINGERS / BAND THAT ARE IN THE HALL OF FAME THAT ARE NOT WORTHY TO CARRY THESE BOYS SHOES
This was the best line up of Foreigner I think. Gramm had a ''hard to find'' voice of diamond... great singer !
Vai(Go) Grammatico!
Kalimera
this was the 1977 original line up.

Lou Gramm is the best! Definitely my favorite voice of 70/80’s rock and roll
Him and Bradly Delp.

Listening in September of 2024, love Lou’s voice. This music is the best ever.

Gramms vocals in the tier of Mercury’s, without question
A few tiers above Mercury. Mercury very great but I feel, is brought up because he is a Rocker no longer with us.

Such an amazing amazing song,
The BEST American band of ALL.
The original lineup was, 3 English men and 3 Americans. Mick Jones, the guitarist, an English man, this band was his baby.
I saw them in 1986 and I've been hooked ever since.
I read somewhere that Ed Gagliardi, the bass player, was actually right-handed. He played the bass left-handed to emulate his hero, Paul McCartney.
That's true.
Terrific song ❤
I love his passion! That’s something you just can’t find nowadays.
